DC-3 Development Update 2: Pleasure for the eyes!
chaps replied to ilias.tselios's topic in Douglas DC-3 v2 - Released!
The 'eye candy' does look very nice indeed. Must be getting very close to a release. I just hope my old iMac will be able to run it. -
tried that but did not change anything. The nose wheel still does not steer. picture attached of it in the 'up' position. Is there something else that needs to be done? I'm on a Mac. There is a 'hand' that pulls it up/down and two arrows but the arrows do nothing. are they supposed to?

I haven't flown the SAAB for a long time ( I really need a new computer with a much better graphics card) Just tried ver. 1.5 with XP11 and could not get the nose wheel to work. Rudder works okay. I looked through the manuals and updates but could not find any reference for it. Is this a problem or is there a way to get it to work that I am not aware of?

Does RWC 1.1 work with X-Plane 11 or just 10? -
basic tutorial to get wing view / passenger cabin view
chaps replied to cmbaviator's topic in General Discussion
Thanks, I will try that if it ever happens again. I never use 2d and had forgotten about the 'W' key, But do you know how I got out? You cannot open the window when in flight but somehow I wound up on the outside -
basic tutorial to get wing view / passenger cabin view

I was on final approach to KBOS, the window was not open and somehow I moved outside. I do not know what I did but after being out there I could not find the portal to get back in. Does any know how to get out ( without having the window open) and once out, how to get back in? I did manage to land okay from the outside but it just didn't seem realistic. -
You have a great product going there Pete and this survey is a really good idea. I just sent in my two cents worth, hope it helps. Also, I don't see this survey on the x-plane org forum. You may get more replies if you put it there also.

I think it is an excellent idea. The more realistic the better. I assume that it will also have frost/moisture on the windshields that will have to wait for some engine heat and a recirculating fan to clear? I'll be one of the first to buy this. Hopefully it won't be too much longer

I tried it without xsquawkbox installed and both the runway lights and street lights only come on when you are very close. I tried with both RTH_lights.lua and lights_tweak.lua together and installed separately with the same results each time. Only come on when very close.
-
What about the Rth-lights.lua ? Does it stay with the tweak file? I.e both installed? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Your 'readme' file says it needs xsquawkbox installed. I don't use it and cannot remember what it is for but why would it be required to 'interact' with the light_tweak script? Will it work without it? Also do you leave the RTH_lights.lua in the scripts folder with the light-tweak?

The "fix" works great. Good you asked about each variant. I didn't think about it until I read your post. Thanks

PREVIEW - X-Plane 10 Tree Lines and Farms V2

excellent, I think the 'eye candy' adds a little more realism . V2 HD Mesh made an incredible difference in Canada. Thank you !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Great idea. Looking forward to it. One question, will the farms be for all of North America or only the USA like the previous? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
That was quick. Thank you very much. I'll give it a try tomorrow.

Hi again I did another flight and did not use reverse thrust on landing and could not stop at the end of the runway. I was slowed to around 40 Knots but the brakes did nothing. I did notice that during the flight if I pressed the brake or handbrake that the handbrake lever did not move. But when I landed it did move when brakes were applied but did not work. The gauge that I was reading the Hyd pressure from is on the centre console above the throttle labeled HYD. QTY Cu.In. I just noticed the other two below that one, but I have to go and am shut down now. When I am back I will do another flight and check the other two gauges. Hope this helps Thanks

I have exactly the same problem several times with version 1.1. I don't remember it happening with the original version. The brakes ( regular and maximum effort ) work fine prior to takeoff but after landing and using reverse thrust I have neither regular or maximum effort brakes. The lever on the left panel is extending and retracting when applied, so it is not a switch problem on my joystick. When at maximum the parking brake indicator on the annunciator panel comes on. The hydraulic pressure is between 180-200. The runway is clean and dry so it is not sliding on ice. I will try to take another flight tonight but not use reverse thrust after landing to see if that has an effect on it. The only way to stop is use reverse thrust again. as soon as you put the throttle back to ground idle and the props change pitch it starts rolling again even with the parking break applied. Hopefully, someone has a solution

See the note below from JGregory in this thread Note: Due to X-Planes limited ice protection capability and our wish to simulate the Saab anti-ice as accurately as possible, the AOA (CoPilot) will not have anti-ice capability. This allows us to provide expanded functionality elsewhere in the ice protection simulation. It looks like the designers have taken the right side data for their own use. I like flying in real weather so I'll have to give your suggestion to program a button to de-ice on a try. Thanks

Why only the right side then? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
