  1. That looks like a stratus or overcast layer. A few things to consider..... If it is a srtatus layer that is an expected result, I would suggest using a skycolor with less contrast to help with the transition. If it is an overcast layer I suggest sitching the overcast type in the UI to either Med or High(High is an FPS killer and experimental) Doing this will draw cloud puffs instead of the low flat overcast layer..... Hopefully that helps
  2. What are your default rendering settings, lets start there Mad..... What kind of scenery, what location, are you using HD mesh...... What aircraft are you flying also this has something to do with performance.... A list of plugins running would be nice.... Do you have an optomized OS? Cut of unwanted processes, programs to help performance.... Drivers Up to date?...... Have you cleaned up your plugins folder?......... I need information to help you out Mad, but as you said in a previous post you are not happy with the product. If that is the case and you do not wish for a solution you are trolling these forums. If you would like to continue this conversation and work through your problems we have a group here that will be more than happy to help you.
  3. Moto we got it....noted is what I think I said.....
  4. Top of the post, near dusk dawn with HDR..... http://forums.x-pilot.com/topic/595-what-did-you-fly-today/page-170
  5. What AtomicFrawg said...lol I am at work now but I will try and throw a couple up....
  6. I stand by the product and feel it brings much to the simulator but I do respect your input.... Not much else to say I guess....
  7. Changing between two types of weather may case more pauses in the simulation as the weather re-loads. This issue is present with or without SkyMAXX Pro. I suggest sticking with one type of output. The default weather may not be as optimal since clouds will disappear in some situations but all of this is a matter of taste. In Brief if you switch between the NOAA and METAR be prepared for some pauses in the simulation... As far as fog is concerned this post may be helpful: http://forums.x-pilot.com/topic/6086-visibility-issues/ Again visibility depends on weather conditions and fog is part of that and SkyMAXX Pro is completely different then the default cloud system. It may be you need to adjust somewhat to the new clouds and tinker with the UI for best results.....
  8. If using real world weather a cirrus layer may not be present via the default weather dialog. X-Plane approximates a nice number of possible situations. Set your weather without noaa or default real weather: 30, 000 cirrus 14, 000 cumulus sct 5, 000 few cumulus Set your visibility CAVOK Is this what you are looking for? If so real world weather may or may not have this effect.....all depends on the weather....
  9. Just a heads up, SMP uses a different cloud shader then the default clouds so it will display differently....

  11. Worth a look guys:
  12. Noted!
  13. What Cameron said LOL......
  14. Nice shots! Seems like you got your configuration tight quickly!
  15. Im assuming you are talking about winds aloft... You need to set winds in the default weather dialog to the appropriate cloud layer......
  16. Noted Moto
  17. To negate your fears we do have Ben Supnik's support on this product. I don't think we will have any major issues with updates and if one were to pop up a fix will be available quickly
  18. Interesting, if I may ask you a favor can you setup X-Plane to do this? Id like to see this in action
  19. Yep something I added to bring a bit of life into the sim......I will admit though random dynamic contrails are an appealing concept even if there are not aircraft attached to them
  20. Actually the contrails are static, not dynamic and appear when a cirrus layer is selected.... So they will show up regardless as long as a cirrus layer is drawn.......
  21. F Especially with specific "situations".....tweaking is a must.....
  22. Um.........
  23. Basically make sure the cloud layers are with the ground...... What I mean is if the runway is 1000 ft above sea level make sure the cloud layers reflect that... Also set the "overcast Layer" to Med in the SkyMAXX UM and use this for the base layer....... Make sure the default weather options reflect this, very important that you can set the weather for the right conditions you need MOTO I hope this helps....
