  1. Hey guys just want to pop in and say a fantastic effort so far, rememeber the community gets to vote on these images so its a fair game! Keep the submissions rolling....... NOTE: I dont mind the conversations, keep them up, but after awhile Im deleting some of them just to keep the thread full of screenshots
  2. I dont feel attacked Valintin and I am concerned with feedback from the community, I responded to the OP's concerns with insite on what we are working on to show how organic SkyMAXX is. You responded with REX, as if I am not aware of REX. Your reply to my images were negative, you dont have to be in love with them but asking a few questions as to whats going on would of warrented a conversation from my side. Some answers you may have had about the images could of possibly been answered with thoughtful conversation along with answers to our future goals..... Instead you went ahead and decided to state that the images do not look any different when they obviously are, now Im more focused on replying to your antics versus discussing SkyMAXX and our future plans.... To be fair Valintin, this happens often in the community and maybe this is why my participation isn't as frequent as it use to be. Nobody wants to join a conversation and always be in a defensive stance..... Maybe I do feel a tiny bit attacked now that I think about it.....
  3. Huey I am well aware of the competition and to be honest I am not a big fan, the approach is outdated and not as volumetric.... I mean this in a very nice way, maybe FSX/P3D is what you are looking for...... Our goal isn't to make a REX clone and this will never be our focus.....Not to say REX isnt beautiful, but pictures in the sky are not what we want. My vision of SM is to have beautiful cloud formations that are volumetric and realistic, something pretty and practical for flight simulation. As far as your assestment of the SS's I just provided if you look at them you will see we are adding more details to the clouds, again this is a very early look at them. I usually hesistate posting such images since users tend to jump to conclusions. In this case I wanted to post some images as to say "hey look we are working on things for you" , but that has backfired and my update is crap according to Huey.....If I dont post anything I see things like "SkyMAXX is Falling Apart in a Ball of Fire".....Damned if I do and damned if I dont..... Updates to SkyMaxx are not always geared towards visual enhancements BTW, most importantly, stability of the promised product was our initial focus. Now that we have this, as shown in the above images(which backfired), we are focused on making SkyMAXX more visually appealing.......
  4. I see your point.....First most of those WOW shots are when HDR was an issue, that is not coming back. I did update a couple of textures in a recent release I think it will be better to bring back the old ones very soon...... Hang tight! As far as going downhill, this has been the oposite. Right now we are limited in the SDK but we are working on the code to bring even more WOW to SkyMAXX, below is a very early look at what we have cooking. Ill talk about it more once we have it all worked out...... Keep in mind these are very early shots, and things like texture blending are still being worked.....
  5. Im about 99% sure it isn't, I spent time with another user awhile back. But let me explore the problem again to see..... Images are nice, but over and over and over again you are not giving me much information to go on here. Try this approach when posting a support question, ASK THE DUCK Thanks
  6. I suggest you bring up the problem with Laminar Research, it isn't an issue with SkyMAXX...... Also performance probably isn't an issue if you roll back the driver, although I will be honest I haven't tried myself......
  7. Gibraltar is represented well.......
  8. Ooooo soo exciting!
  9. Tom what happened, double engine failure?
  10. Well look at that, cloud shadows must not be that important if you can't identify them.... Those images don't have any.....
  11. I think you just missed my post.....I need more information to help, but im going to maintain my stance that it isnt Skymaxx until I can be proven wrong. If that is to happen then we can move towards a solution. This issue is only affecting a few people so we need help on your end not negative words... Boricua your problem is different then forsuv, his is a blending problem yours almost looks like artifacts in the scenery..... Why Im thinking of it can you install the demo and give SkyMAXX a go from the demo without any other plugins...... Im wondering if something is wrong with the install.....or another plugin is a potential cause.... Maybe provide me a list of plugins used, this would also be helpful....
  12. Well that looks horrible, have you tried any steps like turning of atmospheric scattering in the rendering options? Still looks like a diver issue to me, have you tried rolling back drivers?
  13. I worked with someone in another community that had the same issue. It has to do with the latest nvidia driver with or without Skymaxx. Your issue is strange, along with the other user above. Can I ask you to roll back your driver and test? Boricuia- can you provide some more information ie a screenshot and your log.txt? I cannot duplicate this issue on two machines, your help can possibly find the cause....
  14. If only it were that simple, thanks for the link though
  15. As long if it isn't edited in any way you will be good..........No cropping but you can run X-Plane in window mode and create a widescreen layout by resizing the window... This way you can get the effect you want and keep it fair.... EDIT... If I delete stuff its to keep the post clean for submissions......
  16. Ok folks I want to hold a screen shot contest as my way of saying thanks for your overwhelming support of MAXX-XP. Here is how it is going to work(required): 1 image from each user that follows the announced theme, thats right only one submission per community member. No editing of the image what so ever, as a matter of fact participants are encouraged to submit a full resolution image.Submit your shot by using "imgur.com" and paste the link with the IMG tags.Give your shot a creative title, this helps us create a poll when voting begins.List what add-ons (free or pay) that were used when making the composition.Post your submission IN THIS POST.The contest is going to run throughout the month of April and voting will begin in early May. The poll will run for one week and after voting ends a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner will be selected. In the case of a tie on either the 1st, 2nd or 3rd place position, we will have another round of voting on the appropriate screen shots until a winner is selected(i.e. if 3rd place ties we will have another week of voting on the two 3rd place winners). Prizes: 1st Place: Any product from the X-Aviation catalogA MAXX-XP MousepadA MAXX-XP Steel water bottle 2nd Place: A MAXX-XP MousepadA MAXX-XP Water bottle 3rd Place: A MAXX-XP Mousepad This is what the mousepad and water bottle look like: Before we begin: This contest is meant to fun, take time and compose the best screen shot you can. Be creative and wow the community with the beauty of X-Plane. Follow the rules, I am trying to keep the playing field consistent and fair for everyone who participates. Any submissions that do not follow the specified format will be deleted. I made the rules fair, if this contest becomes a cry baby festival I am going to pull it and chalk it up to "THIS IS WHY WE CANNOT HAVE NICE THINGS". OK thanks for thoroughly reading the guide above and without further ado here is your theme for the contest: Mountains! With recent additions to X-Plane the mountains have really taken shape. Show us some spectacular views in the mountains. Keep in mind there is no specific format to follow just make sure take the shot in an area of the world with some nice mountains. Try and bring out the best in X-Plane, really take your time and use every tool at your disposal. Remember MOUNTAINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck everyone I am excited to see what you can come up with
  17. Right now we are not going to be able to implement cloud shadows and I don't see it happening in the foreseeable future, this has to do with X-Plane since the SilverLining SDK has the ability to cast cloud shadows we just don't have the access to implement it......
  18. Hey thanks for clearing that up Brick Tamland.......
  19. http://developer.x-plane.com/2014/03/new-approach-capable-gps-navigator-in-x-plane-10-30/
  20. Inside club I guess AJ.....
  21. Yeah me too......
  22. Ben is a sarcastic SOB, he reminds me of my Drill Sergeants during basic training back in 97.... With that said it is safe to say, if you have the ability to read between the lines, Ben is focused on extending X-Plane.....Good for all of us..... I get it, we deal with similar issues. I know many of you guys don't understand the intricacies of programming.... It is an information heavy practice that requires as much input from the user as possible. When making requests or support inquires it helps us out tremendously when you provide as much info as possible, logs, pics, detailed explanations and system specs. Or even in the case of Ben explanations of FSX related products.... Just keep in mind the more info we have the better we can serve the community, no matter how sarcastic some of us can get....
  23. Thanks for the info ill see if I can replicate this on my windows box....hang tight
