    Hot Start Updates CL650 for X-Plane 11 & 12

    Are there going to be any feather updates for Challenger 650? X-Plane 12 is evolving into a great simulator. I have noticed the the cockpit reflection are not the quality on X-Plane 12. No sun reflection on the Pro 21 MFD/PFD. I am not sure if the windshield heat has been fixed after the LUA windshield disabled script. There seems to be no wind, weather radar, runway condition effects for the Challenger 650. Believe me, I do not like sliding out runway, but flying the Challenger 650 in X-Plane 12 is unrealistic and should stay with X-Plane 11 only. I know it is a lot of work to update the plane, but for the cost of this plane I would expect something updated. I like this plane and now have over 1100 hours with the plane. Just do not get stale watching X-Plane advance.
  2. Hi Pils, Question on your windshield frosting up. I normally do not mess with files and looking at the LUA files in Resources I do not see any thing related to CL650. Can you tell which folder or file I need. I tried the Add files via upload and I still have an issue with the windshield frosting up to a nearly zero visibility. A second question is this and its not directed to you just for understanding. Why is it always Laminars fault for issues. This appears to be a simple script fix that X-Aviation should update. Will X-Aviation update the Challenger 650 for Laminars runway conditions like snow, ice, rain? I will agree that Laminar has their issues also,but they need to be addressed. Add files via upload

  4. Made a flight to KDEN today Snow, 3sm, and -11 degrees. Not ban except windshield frosted up with heat on high and making things blurry. I can not find a defrost or heat fan, because there is none. Anyone know a way to clear windshield? On the CDU for approach setup if I try to set runway to wet it will not except it, sorry I don't remember to wording right now. If I set it to snow, it want supplemental information. Not sure what it is looking for. Seems the best thing is to just leave it on dry runway regardless of weather.

  6. SORRY, I just contacted Laminar and was told this is YOUR problem. I do not like being lied to. When can I expect an update. Message below is Laminar response. Your plane your problem. Hello, This is NOT an issue with 12.0.8 - this is an issue with the Hot Start model. The developers themselves (Hot Start) is responsible for maintaining their models are up to date with our releases. Thank you, --Ben

  8. Just updated to 8.b1 with Xplane 12 and xplane will shut down to desktop while loading Challenger 650. Other xplane 12 planes allow loading. the attempt of selecting acl650 causes shut down.

  10. Well, one more request. I feel it's time to start working on the weather radar and stop placing blame on someone else. It is quite frustrating approaching weather and can not see the danger. I not not fly in RED zones. I would rather hold until it clears up. Flying into a RED area on approach is not fun when the CAS fills with YELLOW. For the cost of the Challenger 650 and all the system functions, why can't this weather radar be addressed. X-plane 12 has improved the weather and this business jet is VFR only?

  12. I thought this was something I was doing wrong. Having the same issue. Setting up RNAV (RNP) Z RWY 14 at KPBI. In fact, on approach the AP turned right off course; had to be a pilot and fly approach. The only RNAV approach that works sometimes for me is the GPS approach. I normally use ILS. When I entered the approach information in PERF and hit send, I immediately got message VSPEED DISAGREE and a yellow VSPD on PFD.

    License Error

    Frequent License Update. I have no issues with this, but don't understand why I keep getting the message. (X-Plane12) I do not have to enter anything, the message box pops up telling my license have been updated.
  14. Thank Pils for your response. This morning the flight was to KDFW 35L. I used the Jovem5 STAR. The descents went will until SILER. This 12000 @210kts. We arrived there at 12500 @210kts. I had the altitude set to 3000 for DALLN. Normally the FLC will help correct the altitude, but not this time. I then went to VS/2000FPM no luck it would only descend 1000fpm. I slowed to170@20 degree flaps and still no luck. That's when one becomes a pilot, turn AP and ATS off throttle back and nose down. Made a nice landing. I would like to send a video, but I never know when this will happen. I will watch for the signs of this and try getting you a video. I have been watching the ASI close lately because the speed select will not always capture on climbs and descents. My fault for missing the SILER 12000 by 500ft.
  15. Having some small issues with the CL650 speed brakes. They appear to be working okay, that is they go up and down. The problem is during descents or attempting to slow down and loose some altitude, the speed brakes do nothing. They rumble, extend up, but will not even attempt to slow the plane. I have event gone to the extreme to full deflection. I will sometimes use the speed brake for a little assistance to loose a little altitude. Question is, Am I doing something wrong, or is this the plane? (usual speed is150-200 IAS). Is it normal to ride the brakes during taxi. I need just a touch of throttle to start from being parked. after that, it stay on the brakes to keep a reasonable speed (15kts). I've let it go and it has reached speeds of 45kts NO throttle used. The last one. approach to land. At time ending my arrival finial point the plane will not slow down and will will hold a high altitude even though I set FAF altitude is set. Here again, am I missing something. Is any of this a problem? NO. Something my flight instructor told me-Fly the Plane First. The AP is nice but I have the final control.
  16. I hoping this is the correct place for my questions. I've started having problems with quick look keys. Some time they work and other time not at all. The number pad works great other wise. It stops working at different times, so I can not isolate any single problem. It also looks like Gizmo has an issue with the quick looks. I'm starting to believe it may be caused form my X52 Pro H.O.T.A.S. It appears to me made for MSFS and not X-Plane12. After years of using the quick key, its habit. I can not find any key binding for fuel panel above co-pilot seat. Second question, why do I get a license update frequently?
  17. This is what I found that works for me. After exiting the CL650 and closing the door, I just press the A key moving to the left. Once the nose of the plane disappears it puts me back inside FBO.

    Okay, This happen to be on this flight. I did not deploy the ADG and found it deployed while securing the plane. Just a normal flight and no buzzing sounds. I can not get the ADG closed. No pins in, no magic click spots to close it up, I've tried pulling the ADG handle down and try to close the door, even with the lever in normal position and no luck.Tried with and with out power (including engines running. I've tried Edit Failures and clear, No Luck. I have look for the two maintenance personnel no luck. Is there a way to correct this. or create a new plane?
  20. On a flight to KAUS today it was over cast and rain. As I setup the PERF INIT with ATIS information I selected WET runway and got a yellow message Perf out of range. If I change it back to DRY the message clears. Question, Did I miss a step, or is this a function that is not modeled in the Challenger 650. Only square box need to be done? I also found on the left side an item called Hard Landing. It shows up to 4 digits. Question, what do the numbers mean? is 1 good or bad, does it evaluate each landing? Any help appreciated. The answer is on the PFD. Make sure you have proper flight altitude interred.
  21. Hope this is the right place for this question. I'm having a problem getting an ILS capture in the CL650. The video that I can find talk about an automatic change from FMS to AN ILS. This does not happen for me. I do not get the double blue dashes to show capture. I have pressed APPR and the fun starts. High speed and way too high. I've changed from setting the altitude at IAF/IF to FAF. This appears to have helped with speed and GS. Is that correct? I have not even attempted an RNAV yet. I have gone through the CDU menus both iiin the beginning and descent. I even set the ILS frequency in NAV1, even though it supposed to be automatic. I like my interceptions to be around 45 degrees, however most have been at 90 degrees. Thanks Sim Brief, guess I should change this. Any help for the approaches are appreciated. Distance speed and flap setting also helpful.
  22. I hope this is the correct place for this post. I'm having a problem with the lighting inside the CL650 cockpit. The cockpit is over bright, like the dome light is on but its not. The battery is turn off. Either way the inside has a green color over all surfaces. The glass in the cockpit makes it almost impossible to see through. The outside looks great, its from the inside looking out. I have uninstalled and re-installed several times with the same problem.
  23. Okay, I have tried everything I can think of including uninstalling and re-installing. How do I get a clean Cold and dark start. Right now I have an APR failure (red) and both DUC 1 and 2 in white. I've been there, No Failures are showing and I tried clearing all failures no luck. I like the fact, you leave it dirty is that way when you get back. However, the complete shut down leaves hidden things behind. Been there to. Second problem it the ATS after takeoff it changes to Fail. The FMC will not let allow a CRZ setting its blank. Thanks
  24. Hi, I just got the CL650 and noticed on a night flight the front windshield was blurry. I appeared to follow to the right seat also. I was on the ground at KDFW and 18degrees C. Windshield heat was on. Appeared like a cloud. Does not noticeable during day. A second problem is getting an ATS fail after take off. I have seen several older things on this, but not sure if they are relevant.
