  1. You need to set up a key for the gustlock command (it opens the detent and allows the handle to be moved). Then push (and hold) the key and move the handle using your mouse (you can't click and hold the detent and move the levers at the same time with your mouse, can you?). Flo
  2. You need to be more specific....but in general X-Plane is not good in saving aircraft configurations, especially when it comes to complex add-ons. There is no way around this as far as I know. My advice regarding the saab condition levers is...just don't use hardware for them. You don't touch them very often, mainly during start-up and never during busy phases of flight. Flo PS: Do you know the free x-assign plugin? It's a must have plugin that allows to save joystick buttons, axis settings, field of view, plugin status per aircraft. PS2: As sometimes X-Plane seems to re-assign joystick buttons unasked, I found that I'm better off with a work-around: I assign my saitek hardware buttons to trigger keys combinations (using the saitek software). Then I use the key combos within X-Plane. Works great so far.
  3. I just assumed that there must be a windows-like interface for driver settings...but I never touched a Mac so maybe there is not. Flo
  4. To test if fillrate is your problem (which I doubt), you can run XP in windowed mode and reduce the window size by steps. If this brings back your FPS - fill rate is indeed your problem. But I think a GTX 780M should be able to do the job. Would you mind posting a SS of your NVIDIA driver settings? Just curious. Regards Flo
  5. It's the same here. From my understanding this is just the way Skymaxx "represents" stratus overcast right now (and has ever been). The Skymaxx overcast quality setting does affect the cumulus overcast quality, at least on my install. If I'm wrong I would be happy. Flo
  6. 4 GB of VRAM seems plenty for running "very high" resolution with "compress textures" checked. But you will know for sure with the said tool. Your screen resolution is quite high and you might see a fps hit here and there with 2xSSAA+FXAA...but given your specs and what you say I tend to believe that there is really a bug. You should file a proper bug report and spend your time elsewhere until there is a bugfix update. Sidenote: I doubt that setting up old versions for download instead of fixing the bug within the current version would be a good approach. And I doubt that Laminar acting as it does allows a conclusion about what they care about or not. There is just so much we don't know about what's going on on their end. Understand your frustration, though. Kind regards Flo PS: My actual VRAM usage is about 1.5 to 2 times higher than what X-Plane monitors (GTX 760 4 GB NVIDIA WIN 7).
  7. You should disable all plugins/addons and use a default Plane just to check if it's X-Plane code or 3rd party code that causes the trouble. Also updating (or downdating) the NVIDIA driver might be worth a shot. Don't follow your conclusions about Laminars intentions. Flo
  8. Welcome, this reminds me of a long discussion about oscillation and the AP pitch parameters. The fix then involved a little work in "Planemaker" (comes free with XP). But everybody can do it and it worked great (for me and others). Search within the official CRJ support thread and you will find the answer soon. Hope this helps. EDIT: Here you go: http://forums.x-pilot.com/topic/3106-progressive-pitch-oscillations-in-cruise-with-ap-on/?hl=oscillation Flo PS: The shutdown of the engines results from high G-forces which "cut" the fuel flow - if I remember correctly. This is intentionally.
  9. Fast spinning props are normal (at least with the Saab in X-Plane) if there is some wind. The rudder goes nuts too. The effect, though it exist in reality, seems VERY exaggerated to me. But it has nothing to do with your startup problem (except that autostart does not work under certains conditions, and this would be displayed) But to be sure you should set zero winds until the problem is sorted out. Flo
  10. Scroll wheel support is very much appreciated. Thanks for implementing that. My only worry is that "hotspots" are getting too small when offering 2 methods (=2x2 hotspots + 3 clickspots on a very small area). If looking from pilots "normal" position it might be very difficult to find the right one. I think I would prefer an option to use either scrollwhell or click and drag/click and hold functionality - but have larger hotspots instead. But hey, there is also the new great 2D popup Regards Flo
  11. Next news would be that the update was released by X-Aviation. It isn't. Maybe they are waiting for the Gizmo-Update that Ben is working on. Flo
  12. Simply amazing. Flo
  13. From my experience: what you hear is closely tied to your speaker system. When I upgraded from my build-in monitor speakers to a 11'' x 7'' amplified hifi speaker - sounds came alive that were never to be heard before. It completely changed the sound experience. It's very hard to judge the quality of sounds without a really good and well adjusted speaker system. Flo
  14. Almost right, except it's an educated guess that it won't be an airliner. This was well pointed out by PMDG. Do an "easy" plane from scratch - in order to learn about making planes for x-plane - then quickly move on to port some airliners... Flo
  15. I can't reproduce this on my rig. No idea what this is related to. Steps that I would take: 0. Reduce texture resolution and check again. If that doesn't do the trick 1. Update X-Plane with latest installer. 2. Move preferences to another place (don't delete them - so you can move them back again) 3. Move Plugins... (s.o.) 3. Start X-Plane and see if that helps If not: 4. Install an older WHQL driver, leave everything at default and see if that helps. 5. Have a cup of tea Good Luck Flo
  16. I guess doing an a320 neo at study sim level would be a much more complex task than doing a saab340. But maybe you're right and it was a poor comparision right from the start... No matter what, I'm glad you found a way to make the saab perform (even) better.
  17. Hi Ben, I always felt that the saab is too heavy on frames compared to other complex planes (like JAR a320 neo). In fact I have to reduce a couple of rendering settings to maintain 30 FPS when flying the saab. So +20% FPS sound very good to me! Thanks for your efforts. Florian
  18. Can you add your driver settings, rendering settings and driver version no? This seems to be related to GPU performance and thus driver (settings) may be crucial. Flo
  19. Yeah, works great;) That's all I wanted to know. Flo
  20. Would you mind a quick update on what happened to the update (except beeing delayed)? And please, no release date;) Thanks Flo
  21. Is there a setting for the number of cars other than that in rendering settings menu? IMHO the number of cars when set to "siberian winter" is still very high (main roads have hundreds of cars on them) and in large cities this hits my FPS with up to 20% compared to "no cars". Any way to have a setting inbetween? Thanks Flo
  22. What if I tell you that clouds were all black here yesterday? Let's face it: Cloud colors and clouds are far more complex than anything we will ever see in a flightsim. Nonetheless Skymaxx does a good job with a very small FPS hit - if you get the settings right. Flo
  23. Try to adjust your gamma (monitor and x-plane), contrast and brightness. I managed to get dark skymaxx clouds without ruining the overall image quality. Flo
  24. No X-Plane Limitation in general. If you darken your skycolor sets (the two boxes at the bottom of the skycolor.png) you will get pitch black clouds at night. I tuned all my skycolors, using GIMP. Unfortunately it doesn't work for Skymaxx as far as I know. If Skymaxx or X-Plane is to blame for this - I don't know. Regards Flo
  25. Houston, we have a release date. Flo
