  1. Thanks Ola. Looking nice yourself.
  2. I like the interest here. I will most probably be busy with other things, but if you do need a model done, I might be able to get it done. I can do cars and planes. Cheers Kieran
  3. I have just successfully done the tutorial flight, but with out the tutorial, so I did it in a much shorter time period (the two failed attempts included a lot of pausing). However this is the last entry for X-Plane from the previous attempt. 9/10/11 1:12:42 PM [0x0-0x1dd1dd].com.laminar_research.X-Plane[2412] Kicking off async tex load. Thanks for your time Philipp, Kieran
  4. I bought the CRJ yesterday, and have been flying it with the help of the video tutorials. So far I have twice flown the aircraft successfully to the final approach, only to have X-Plane crash to the desktop. Attached is the System specs and my log.txt. I can't seem to find my crash.txt. Cheers Kieran Log.txt
  5. You are so lucky Ben.
  6. Just something I have been working on. Though not necessarily for X-Plane. [EDIT] picture removed.
  7. Today I went for a 20min introductory flight in a Tomahawk (VH-LMV), my first time flying an aircraft. Very rough down at Camden today. The first thing I noticed was how different the flight controls are compared to my basic Saitek ST90. So I started looking at yokes. I found the CH Products Flight Sim Yoke. It seems pretty good, a decent number of buttons and a throttle of some description. I found it on SkyComp for AU$150 + $11 shipping. The cheapest price I could find. So my questions: Will the CH Products yoke be anything like (feel wise) that of the Tomahawk? Does anyone know anywhere cheaper? I have googled SkyComp and they seem to be very good, but has anyone here purchased anything from them? Cheers Kieran
  8. I just tried it. I found that the cg was at the front of the aircraft. So set that to something like 5.5 to start with. Also for the rear skid you need to set that in the landing gear window, using the gear type 'skid' I believe that only landing gear normally collide properly with the ground. Cheers Kieran
  9. Posting your aircraft here could help, just the .acf and the airfoils if you are using custom ones.
  10. Never mind the C/C++ issue, Sandy gave me some updated code and it builds fine.
  11. Hi Ben, I can't seem to find any frameworks by the name "OpenGL" in /Libary/Frameworks, nor could I find any via searching. I have looked at Gizmo, but I couldn't find anywhere to begin. With C/C++ there was a wiki on how to start, and example code; i can't seem to find this for Gizmo. I would love to use Gizmo, I have read about it and can see the benefits (I have a basic knowledge of python), but I don't know where to start. I currently don't have any specific projects in mind, but as I continue to develop my various aircraft, I'm sure there will be things that will need a plugin. If someone can give me a few pointers to start in Gizmo, I will be sure to give it a go. Cheers Kieran
  12. Oh, ok. Posted over at the .org.
  13. I get the same error in the Plugins Dev forum
  14. Aright, I have hit another bump. While trying to build the ExampleGuage.cpp file from the AdvancedSDKExamples. I get the following errors. (had to use this because the image uploader here isn't working for me) Cheers Kieran
  15. Thanks Tkyler. Got it working. I'm sure I will have some more questions down the road, but for now I'll continue editing the examples. Cheers Kieran
  16. That will change. You are going to have to work that out for yourself.
  17. Part 2 is live. http://youtu.be/g6liTD-QFSM
  18. As in which Avanti do we have, apart from the default. (which is the original not the II)
  19. Which one are you referring to?
  20. Me modeling an aircraft in Blender. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSnUkSBtYU8
  21. Currently for X-Plane the faster GHz model would be better. X-Plane currently doesn't use all 4GB ram because it is only 32bit, so the 8GB is pointless. However X-Plane will benefit from the faster cpu. This logic assumes the machine is only for X-Plane. For everyday work 4GB should be sufficient, however if it isn't you can always upgrade the ram. While the cpu is very difficult, if not impossible. Just my 2 cents. Cheers Kieran
  22. Hi, I am learning C/C++ so I can code for X-Plane. I have downloaded the XPSDK and the sample files. I have opened the SDKExamples (the XCode project file) and have built them successfully. However when I went to build the AdvancedSDKExamples (again from the XCode project file) I got many build errors; all originating from XCode not being able to find the XPSDK header files. (attached image shows the error I'm getting) Also I just want to confirm that for the example files, a ".c" extension is for C files and a ".cpp" extension is for C++ files. All help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance (and for reading this far). Cheers Kieran
  23. Thanks guys for the interest. Unfortunately I've been really busy lately. I still have some work going on atm, but I will try and pick this up again when I can. I'll let you guys know of any progress. Cheers Kieran
  24. To do windows use the mirror modifier so you only model half of one side. Then use the array modifier to make all the windows. Scooter posted a tut for it over at the .org, it was in some thread, I don't have time to find it atm. Good luck. P.S. don't use the boolean tool, unless you do a lot of cleaning up.
  25. Thanks tkyler, I think I'll go for the first option. But as for the second, I found an svg importer which works fine as my vector is just lines. Cheers Kieran
