[SOLVED] Anyone else get stuck on the ground?
RojanTrojan replied to carthorse's topic in Douglas DC-3 (no longer in use)
Hi, yes I too get this from time to time, when i try to taxi on some grass. I assume it maybe the way that x-plane models these sort of areas off paved taxiways? I'm not sure. But I have to use 100% to get going like Carthorse has explained. Cheers Rhydian -
Echo all the sentiments here. Brilliant modelling Javier. I just bought the boxed version of your CRJ200 and am waiting patiently (kind of) for it to be delivered by Amazon. I will certainly be buying this also. Great work. Your doing X-plane proud. Rhydian

Holy moly! That's a very, very realistic looking model. Well done Pete. Rhydian

Ahh I see, so that's how it works. Thanks for the explanation Morten. Rhydian

Very impressive detail, even for the nose wheel. I'm just curious, even though I understand that the 737 classic will be released for XP9 first, will the recent update for XP10 and the next major patch bringing a texture size limit increase to 4096 x 4096: http://developer.x-plane.com/2012/03/conditionals-shadows-big-textures-etc/ Will this allow for more detail (texture wise) within XP10? From what I have seen so far the rendered images on your blog and the pictures in the sim (I assume in XP9) have looked near identical already. Will the increase in texture size limit benefit you as aircraft addon developers or is this mostly to do with scenery designers? I hope that question(s) makes sense! Thanks Rhydian

No problem mate. Glad I could help. Rhydian

Hi. Blinking nav lights? I dont suppose you are getting confused with the strobes? The Nav lights are the red and green lights on the edges of the wings. I only have the Cessna 172 but Carenado have modelled it on the older 172N which don't have strobes, just like in the real aircraft, which is why the switch has a cap over it. I assume it is the same for the 152 and 185. Unless you mean the beacon light on top of the tail? That seems to be working fine for me. Hope this helps Rhydian

You can't fool me Morten, putting in real screenshots in your gallery like that!!! Lol! Lol! Seriously guys, this is looking incredible. Can't wait to see what the whole VC cockpit looks like with all the elements together. Looking forward to see what you have done with the exterior of the aircraft as well. Thanks for the update. First photos of the Mallorca conference
RojanTrojan replied to philipp's topic in General Discussion
Did I read somewhere that someone took some video of the conference. Any idea if that will be uploaded somewhere? Rhydian -
Looking very nice. Thanks for the update.

That's seriously impressive work Guy. I bet you have picked up a lot of new skills making your Comet. I tried my hand at Adobe Illustrator a while ago to make drawings for laser cutting my simpit panels. Steep learning curve but a superb piece of software. It's amazing when you start a project how many new skills you pick up on the way. Fantastic. Thanks for the update. Rhydian

Yes I do agree that compared to the default sounds, Carenado's sounds are certainly an improvement. I just feel its a shame that they dont have a better sound engine to work with. I have their C172N and Piper Archer for X-plane, they are superb addons. I'd love to see their soon to be released C182 and Cirrus SR22 given the XPX treatment. Cheers Rhydian

I too read this and chuckled to myself. 'High quality' and '22khz' in the same sentance? Hmmm...I assume that this is a limitation of the sound engine? With XPX's fantastic new scenery and visuals, I personally feel that sound has been overlooked for many versions of XP. I thought that that a new rewrite of the sound engine was on the cards for version 10. Other than that though the aircraft looks like Carenado's typical high standard. Wheres that credit card? {fumbles for wallet} Rhydian

Yes this European version comes with Nice (LFMN), Paderborn-Lippstadt (EDLP) and Faro (LPFR). Nice to have some extra scenery. I have Aerosoft Nice for FSX so I can compare it to that. Although it is Nice...(pun intended!), it doesn't seem to have the resolution and amount of scenery that the FSX version has. But it is great to have though. Turning HDR on for XPX was incredible last night. I'd do anything to keep that on!!!...well, not anything, but you get what I'm saying. Rhydian

Hi, Just in case you wanted to see what you get with the Aerosoft global version of XPX, then here are the pictures. My very own X-Plane 10 unboxing...oh no! how sad is that, sorry! It comes in a thin metal case, which my grubby, little fingers, found stupidly hard to open. The presentation of the box is nice though. Rhydian The package comes with the 8 discs, a "Quick Start Guide" and a "Getting Airborn in 5 Minutes" guide, which I thought was a nice idea for new users to the franchise.

Update is looking very tantalising fellas. Rhydian.

Official In-Sim Previews - February, 2nd, 2012
RojanTrojan replied to Cameron's topic in Douglas DC-3 - Released!
That is some seriously cool gauges. Well done guys. Everything looks very atmospheric. Rhydian -
Holy cow! -39! It's incredible how cars work in those sort of temperatures. I have a friend who worked on a documentary about Everest for the Discovery Channel. They got around half the way up to film. One morning it was so cold (i cant remember how cold) that nothing worked, none of the sound recording equipment or camera equipment which were tape based at the time. I work with this sort of equipment every day it can take one heck of a hammering. However, the only thing that was working that day was his iPod...being solid state with no moving parts it could still keep going. Incredible the technology these days. Rhydian

It's out on the 17th of Feb. I'll post it here when I get it. Cheers Rhydian

Just pre-ordered my 'metal tin' x-plane 10 from amazon.co.uk. Good to see that Aerosoft are putting in this sort of commitment to marketing X-plane and the hobby as a whole. Rhydian

I think It was called the Vauxhall Carlton in the UK. Rhydian

3d mouse look, superb, that just made my day. Now all we need is a scrollable middle button for the instruments and I'd be even happier. Incidentally, is there a reason why x-plane don't offer the scrollable wheel? I thought it was because not all mac mice had this button but these days with the mighty mouse it's fairly common place. Is there another reason? Rhydian
