  2. Testing out the latest version of G2XPL 6.49. Decided to test Yahoo maps and mapquest over the Washington State Olympic Mountains. Results are great.
  3. Yes, but i just tried again today, and nothing works after downloading 3gb worth. This was with Bing maps. No Idea, have not talked with Robert in a couple years. He is from Poland. But I have received updates from him over the past few years after financially helping him. WOW,open this email from Robert this morning with a new G2XPL update to 10x. Have yet to give it a try. Hello, Please find included the latest full ver of G2xpl. The most popular services have been already preconfigured in g2xpl.ini file. Yahoo maps have been removed (they redirect to ovi maps now). CUDA patch files have been tested only with NVIDIA GPUs 5xx and 6xx cards families. See included readme files for detailed instructions. Installation Extract compressed files in any folder of your choice. The password for the archive is: qwerty (unrar it with Winrar which can be downloaded from http://rarlab.com/ ) Only 2 conditions must be met: - g2xpl.xpl AND g2xpl_64.xpl files must be placed DIRECTLY under your X-Plane\Resources\plugins\ folder (do not create separate folder for it!) (I am not using FAT plugin system to keep compatibility with older X-Plane 9 and 10 versions) - all remaining files must be placed in 1 single folder (X-Plane plugin will ask you for location of g2xpl.exe file during X-plane start-up is it is not located under plugins folder). Of course it is also possible to extract all files altogether directly under plugins folder. CUDA patch files should be extracted to the same folder as g2xpl.exe. Main new features For complete list of changes see included release notes. The main features since last stable ver 6.17 are: - support for X-Plane 64 bit (via g2xpl_64.xpl) - support for CUDA NVIDIA acceleration (extract files from CUDA_path_2.2.rar into g2xpl.exe folder, make sure that you have CUDA compatible NVIDIA GPU) - significant improvements in night (LIT) textures creation algorithm. It is still far from being perfect but at least it should not generate so many unrealistic glaring areas as in previous versions. - view current map coverage on your web browser per each service from within G2xpl plugin (by hitting the service buttons in Internet Settings plugin’s menu) - performance speedups (I tried to minimize the number of disk access) - help tip messages in plugin UI - countless fixes and other improvements Known problems Reloading G2xpl sceneries from within X-Plane might not always work as expected and sometimes restart of X-Plane is necessary to “force” X-Plane to load the recently created G2xpl scenery. I am aware of this problem but this is something out of my hand which requires a fix from X-Plane developers, who noted my request for this feature. A piece of advice If you have strong machine with decent GPU I’d encourage you to use together with G2xpl sceneries: UrbanMAXX Extreme V2 3D http://maxx-xp.hiking-pa.com/?page_id=189UrbanMAXX is an enhancement to default X-Plane 10 scenery, particularly useful for urban areas. Please remember that since the sceneries are normally loaded according to alphabetical order & G2xpl sceneries modify base mesh so nothing “after” them is loaded into X-Plane. Therefore G2xpl sceneries should be called z_G2xpl or similar. OSM2XP http://www.osm2xp.com/OSM2XP is a free tool for generating autogen (building) data from OSM. Of course it enhances X-Plane scenery in the areas which offer decent OSM building data coverage (currently mainly Western Europe, but it is improving rapidly) Using SSD disks for storing X-Plane and orthophoto sceneries improves loading times in X-Plane significantly. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you encounter any problem, have feature requests etc. Enjoy! Rob
  4. Yes, it comes with a couple paints.
  5. Figured it out, had to remove all of my OSM2XP2 scenery downloaded, had them all, folders to get them back.
  6. G2XPL was the greatest thing to happen to X-Plane for me. I have over 300gb of ortho scenery from G2XPL stored inside my computer to fly around in. Here are a few samples to drool over. Have thousands of of photos like these saved and hours of video.
  7. Took a road trip this morning, drove 80 miles up to Granite Falls Airport and took a look through the new museum that opened this past September. Been wanting to get there sooner but work was in the way. Made time and took my son along, he was in heaven in this place. http://www.flickr.com/photos/1001jimk/sets/72157632144043011/
  8. Sorry, did not reveal my findings. KILM no objects show up at all to show airport buildings. You must travel outside the area of custom scenery to see any objects. My object settings are on extreme. Along with roads, and I have downloaded the entire earth with OSM2XP2 road and objects. Take a look at some of Chris`s scenery down under, they work flawlessly. For now, this is all beta, so don`t get to excited since this will change.
  9. Testing has proven that there is an issue with EFHF and KILM. Further testing showed all of Chris`s scenery working and all of Tom Curtis`s. But like all beta`s, I am not loosing sleep over it. They have a long ways to go getting everything 64bit compatible. They should have waited and only released the 64bit to aircraft and scenery developers long before the general public. We all know how much noise they make over things not working especially if they paid for it.
  10. I have a feeling I need to try again after a re-boot. On my Windows 7 with 12gb ram. I was going around the world testing custom airport scenery and more then likely ran out of memory. I tested both 32bit and 6bit, Will report back after a complete reboot and test.
  11. Custom payware scenery objects don`t appear in 10.20b5. Truscenery Malmi EFHF is gone and so is KILM Wilmington. But everything Chris made works.
  12. Testing with 10.20b3 64bit last night. Looks great Chris. With OSM2XP2 added it really adds.
  13. Testing YPAD in 10.20b2 64 bit, looks awesome. Have some video of it to be processed.
  14. Here is an amazing video air to air shoot of the beaver. https://vimeo.com/54098205
  15. X-Plane 10.20b2 64bit over Berlin with OSM2XP2 running Over Paris with OSM2XP2 running
  16. My apologies Edwin, did not mean to rattle your plane. BTW, did you notice that they released another beta ? 10.20b2 is out, run your installer and give it a go.
  17. For cripes sake, they just released an early 64bit beta, not all ironed out yet, and you are making noise about how this and that won`t work. Please, give it a chance. Remember those developers have only just opened 64bit themselves and have yet to recode to 64bit. But if you think you improvements right now, they might not be there as 64bit gets further long. Be patient, it will all work out in time.
  18. No plans to upgrade, why mess up a perfectly good Win7 that has never given me a blu-screen since upgrading from Vista.
  19. LOL, interesting interview writeup.
  20. Thank god, , the last time I was able to fly the MU-2 was when I made this video. Way to long to pay this much and have it ask me every time to register again. With no luck Missed you last week. http://www.xplanefreeware.net/jim/video/XP9/WMV/720P/Mu2.wmv
  21. Thanks Chris, hey that is great you met up with Simmo.

  23. Since X-plane is not yet 64 bit it can only use the limit of 32 bit. That being only around 1gb. But it does help with over all running speeds and graphics look great.
  24. Have a Zotac GTX580 Amp2 3gb and love it. Works great for all my sims. So the 680 should work even better. I believe Cameron has a 680 from previous post. Maybe he will get you some input.

Anything over 4 minutes is OK, but 14 minutes takes it beyond what most people have time for.
