@oldflyguy Hi, No worries, we are all sharing the same passion! We can only be happy having some very nice simulators, the competition is always in our benefit! So, happy flying!
-
Guys, Goran already told us that they are aware of this issue and a patch is coming, but there are still a few issues which need to be ironed out! The forum is full of questions on this subject! Let's be patient and give them the chance to make the TBM even better than it already is! For now, until the patch comes, it is a great chance to practice the RNAV approaches, they are available at most airports and they might become more and more used, as the GPS systems become more precise. In the past months I have flown with the TBM900 around the world, I could land successfully using RNAV approaches. If they were not available, the old school manual visual landing does the trick! If it can make anyone more 'comfortable', ILS not working is a good chance of practicing the abnormal procedures, system failures! So, we should always see the full side of the glass!

Gentlemen, @Goran_M @oldflyguy I said this and I assume my words! I enjoy both the simulators, the X-Plane is a mature sim, with very good flight dynamics and planes, I am very happy with the TBM 900, it is very realistic, I flown around the world in the TBM these months! I burned a few airframes, some because of me, some because of the beta versions of the X-Plane.... But, nevertheless, the TBM is an amazing plane! I reported a few issues to Goran a few months ago, I just asked if the patch is coming.... The new Flight Simulator has very nice graphics, nobody can deny this but, as we all can agree, there is still work in progress! The TBM in FS2020 is nowhere near the X-Plane TBM of Goran and the team (no VNAV, the autopilot is weird at times, if I pause the sim for a few minutes, I cannot use the autopilot anymore, it gets crazy and a few more)! In any case we are lucky to have 2 flight simulators, both extremely good! I think that the Prepar3D is the actual victim of the FS2020, it will probably remain only for the other uses, more technical..... I respect Goran's opinion that he will continue with the X-Plane, as he said, Austin has a few aces in his sleeve and I will be very happy if, at some point, they will make us happy with a similar TBM in the FS2020! So @oldflyguy this was the point of my statement! By your ID I would say that we are not kids, to make comments like this.... We are entitled to have opinions and respect each other! I am really sorry to see that I upset you, I enjoy flying and I enjoy both simulators!

Hi Guys, @Goran_M When will the update for the TBM will come, to fix some of the issues that we know about? As everyone says, we like the looks of the new FS2020, but the flight models are still far from being polished and we enjoy the TBM

Also, I do not know if the brakes fading is simulated, but if they get hot, during hard braking they might become ineffective! Also, use at first the propeller reverse (beta) to reduce the speed without making them too hot As Goran said, when you apply the parking brake, keep the brakes pressed and turn the parking brake switch. I never had issues with braking, other than occasional forgetting the beta and making them hot, getting an advisory to delay take off for at least 15 minutes, to allow them to cool
-
The Navigraph data is not yet working with the TBM
-
For not getting the brakes too hot, use the propeller reverse (beta) for braking action

Hi, If you are using the Vulkan drivers, the AoA gauge is not working. Goran promised us that they are trying to solve this. Also, with Vulkan, the rain will not show on the plane's windscreen. Hopefully, Saso will make the librain working with Vulkan also

Second attempt went well, no more crash of the X-Plane. Luckily, I did not lose the airframe.

Also, in case you use betas, the B11 just got out. Try to update X-Plane and retry

Try what Goran suggested to me, remove most of the plugins from the X-Plane folder and move them to a backup outside X-Plane. For me, removing the LiveTraffic, X-Life and XPRealistic made the plane fly more fluid, less stubborn trims and better vertical navigation. It might help you also. Also, try to play a bit with the graphics sliders and see if any improvements
-
Manuel, just try what Goran recommended to me and it improved a lot the operation of the plane. Try to remove from the plugin folder most of the plugins (especially the ones dealing with AI, like Live Traffic, XPRealistic, gates and other), copy them in a backup folder outside X-Plane folder. Try and see if you still get crashes. Also, if you use the beta, try both Vulkan and OpenGL and see if there are improvements. Also, try playing a bit with the graphics settings. You can try other add-on planes, if you have, and see if the X-Plane crashes still
-
So, @Goran_M the first flight without AI plguins was definitely more stable, even the vertical navigation was more accurate. I will keep it like this for some time, I will keep you updated if I encounter anything 'weird' Thank you!
-
I removed most of the plugins, so far it is good! If I notice something weird, I will let you know. Please don't tell Saso that I took out, for now, also the BetterPushback....
-
I think that we all understand this and we are trying to find 'workarounds' for enjoying flying the TBM! We try to bring to you and the team our findings, hoping that it helps in honing up the plane, to make a best even better! We thank you for listening to our concerns and helping!
-
I will try to remove all the plugins that might have anything to do with AI
-
Maintenance is perfect! It is the first thing I checked after landing and switching off the plane! AI, you mean the LiveTraffic? It is the only plugin installed and I have flying cars only...... I will also see if anything else might create issues I will try, thank you!
-
Hi, I had a new 'issue' today, most probably related to the trims having their own 'mood'.... I was on the approach (RNAV), the descent phase started, it started to slowly descent (1000 fpm, normal) when, suddenly, nosed down, over 3000 fpm, the plane overspeed, reached almost 290kts and the overspeed horn started to 'scold' me..... I immediately recovered, bring the airplane back to normal, but the horn did not stopped until I shutdown the airplane, after landing (in the maintenance pages, all as new, no problems recorded) If the logs are helping, I attached both the X-Plane and the TBM log files X-Plane & TBM900_Log.zip
-
Great! Now we know the fuses pop!!! I did not have yet a popped fuse! Great that the plane is good now!
-
It is weird. Try this, with the plane cold and dark, switch only the crash bar and the battery and, before the aural check is completed, so yet quiet, switch on the ignition (you should clearly hear the tick-tick-tick), then the Aux Pump and listen for the humming. Also, when you put the propeller in beta (reverse thrust) do you hear the typical noise? Also, in the X-Plane settings, for the Sound, check if all the sliders are at max
-
Great! You are the best, Saso! @skiselkov Thank you, on behalf of all the happy users of the TBM, the Syntethic Vision, the librain and so many more!
-
You are absolutely right! Great that it worked! Restarting is the best solution, since the invention of MS-DOS.... If not working, first try a restart!
-
There are a number of 'environment' add-ons which allow the setting of volume for different sounds, maybe this is the culprit. If you are trying or got XPRealistic V2, it is in 'vogue' these days, it might have substituted some of the sounds
-
This is weird.... I had my number of 'issues' with the plane, but this one did not occur.... Can you post a screenshot of the MFD, so we can try to figure out what is happening? No Direct To or airport selected as destination?
