  1. Lovely video. Waiting for my beta tester upgrade at xpfw to get a hold of that. EDIT - looks like it happened - nice.
  2. Cheers Indi. Looks good. ;D
  3. For my learning foray into the x-plane sdk, I have written a plugin which gives me a view cycle like MSFS. Currently compiled for Windows and mac only. File Attached. This plugin will cycle views forward and back between 3d pit, 2d pit, chase and tower using F8 and F9 (remappable) like the MSFS views cycle. Drop the CycleViews.xpl into your x-plane/resources/plugins folder PC Version: Cycleviews 1.0.zip Mac Version: CycleViews 1.0 -mac.zip CycleViews_1.0.zip CycleViews_1.0_-mac.zip
  4. I know I can use XPLMRegisterHotKey to callback a key press - what I want to do is the same thing, but for a joystick press. In more detail I would like to intercept a mapping and execute a function when that occurs. The mapping I want to intercept is for chase view. So whatever is mapped to chase view, I would like to use that as my hotkey. Is this possible using the SDK?
  5. Very nice Cameron - now if only there was one of the United Kingdom upcoming (or europe)

Don't know if it's a perspective trick, but the front wheel looks like it's off the ground (compare shadow with a/c behind it). Looks very nice though - cockpit shots!
  7. I think you may be able to convert the fs2004 version using fs2xplane tool http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?automodule=downloads&showfile=24
  8. Cameron, thank you for that clarification. I understand the position you take and want nothing more than for you and the aircraft developers to succeed in this niche hobby of ours - it only brings more enjoyment to us after all. I agree with MDMax that the being able to view the licences before purchases would be clearer and more transparent. I know that after purchase, we can reject the license and request a refund if it's not to liking, but please consider this change for the future - perhaps even an overview like steam or direct2drive does - a drm icon, perhaps with a summary on it, or clickable to view a more detailed page. I don't know if it isn't done because it just wasn't considered, if it's thought to be likely to restrict sales or for another reason (time). Additionally, please consider having a utility to generate the keys already built (or another option) so you could release a method for people to continue using the aircraft if you happen to go out of business. Thank you for your time and consideration.
  9. Can I clarify this - I have a vague recollection of it being answered before - but the search function fails me at the moment. If I were to buy a product off of x-aviation, what is the license? Am I allowed to use it myself on any computer I have? Am I allowed to use it on one computer only at a time - and I can move the 'set / enabled computer' Am I only allowed to use it on one computer and if I change that computer in the future, I have to rebuy? I ask this because I cannot see any information about this on the x-aviation site, and it should really be made clear on the product pages or before purchasing - what any use restrictions there are.
  10. My view is that DRM hurts the legitimate consumer - not the people who pirate. I find it an intense pain for stuff that I buy - and in many cases this trouble doesn't exist in a cracked version - meaning that a paying customer had a lower experience than a non-paying one. It is a deciding factor in purchases, in those cases where similar products compete. I don't think many "12 year old kiddies" would buy an expensive add on prodcut regardless, so would argue the effect of them bootlegging is mostly irrelevant. The decision however is with the developer.

Does that mean that repaints will have a colour shift goran?
  12. Cheers for that. I hadn't even noticed that tickbox before - says it overrides all others, set it to max for now, if that gives no joy, I'll untick it.
  13. Running x-plane 9.41 Isse: Failures I have everything set to always working on the equipment failres tabs (all of them), yet every long flight, loads of equipment fails on the aircraft. I have now mapped a button for the 'reset all failures', but what is wrong with my setup or is this a known bug? When it occurs and on checking the failures tab I get the red flashing failed on equipment that was set to not fail. Resetting the failure clears it.
  14. We all learn the hard way At least you're pragmatic about it and won't make that mistake again. Glad you're not giving up on the 747, how long do you reckon until you're back to where you were progress wise?
  15. Ouch Goran - Too late now, but from your situation described, you could have used a linux live distro to boot and recover files before doing a windows reinstall.
  16. wingbox + engine looks a little off. Front looks good to me
  17. Raphael, I've been watching your work for a while and a lot on the last renders you posted look quite nice. However, I do think you can get too eager to 'get it done'. I hope you look both at what's right and what could be improved with this aircraft and take heed of gilbenl. There are F70/100s out there. Slow down, make the best version you can rather than rush a model out. Put out a quality model and rise above the crowd. More than anything, this is a good practice project. If a section goes wrong, remake it. This gives the same experience (even better focused) than moving on to the next aircraft and will make a better name for yourself. Just look at Goran Looking forward to this release.
  18. Well, he's got the engines right which is more than I can say for the abacus model I hope any heads up display can be flipped out of the way with a manipulator like in Javiers CRJ Being licensed by Boeing does not equate to it being a good model however. I've seen poor quality licensed products on the MSFS side.
  19. I hope that he is targeting the top end market with this aircraft because his previous 3d pits have been 'painted on' instruments with lower quality texturing than say the BK117 or the a/c in development here. If it's as good as the latest generation of x-plane aircraft in terms of 3D / texturing with fair systems modelling, then I may get it, although I think he targets the mid-low level market - those with more modest hardware and who aren't as interested in aesthetics. Here's hoping it will be captain sim rather than abacus quality.

I hope you make the saab 2000 as mentioned in an earlier post - my VA flies that one.
  21. The canards in pics look either level or swept back but the xplane model's look swept forward. Might be a perspective trick though.
  22. I select a route at my VA, plan the route on FSCommander and fly it. Commander gives me moving map and frequencies inc airport maps.
  23. Would be good to get a file area for user submitted liveries etc.
  24. Cheers Kaphias will take another look Bummer Its something that doesn't translate well from movement into stills, but here goes: There are other objects such as stationary aircraft that match the markings layer (sit on it). Is there a list of good airport scenery for x-plane? Or of stuff that can be converted over with no probs? On the bright news, I just found that my VRInsight MCP Panel now works with x-plane - woot. So can control autopilot, transponder, nav, com, etc from my external hardware. Hope that will work with Javiwers CRJ.
  25. I tried for the first time today to use the FS2XPLANE tool to convert the Aerosoft Mega Airport Heathrow package. First off, it looks amazing in x-plane. If I can nail this, it'll certainly fill a major gap I have in x-plane atm. As I expected, the conversion wasn't 100% smooth, and I'm left with ground texture layer floating just above the height of a cessa from the ground, and starting on a runway isn't actually a runway (very bumpy ground etc, + positioned behind some 3d objects such as 3d lights) What I want to do is the following: Drop this texture to the floor, as it should be and fix any alignment issues. Sort out x-plane runways and markings etc toi match up with the scenery package Any pointers guys? I've grabbed the World Editor and DSF Overlay Tools. DSF Overlay looked good for moving bits about, but can't do anything about height. World Editor when opening the package doesn't seem to give any airport or even highlight on the map the location of EGLL. Any and all guides/ pointers / walkthroughs appreciated.
