  1. The indicator starts reversing at 180 ias, not 200. As in anything past 180 displays lower than 180, 190ish shows up very weird. It's not like at rises normally to 194 and then acts strange past it. Would appear more normal if at say 200, the needle maxes out rather than reverses. I assume that's how it would appear in the real a/c.
  2. The animation on the airspeed indicator is bugged. At speeds from 180-200 the needle animation reverses towards 0, suggesting to me that the final animation point is incorrectly set to 0 rather than max.
  3. My understanding is that this is a no no for both performance and appearance. Think it may have been a post by Ben Supnik at the org.
  4. Another enjoyable read. Bought the plane too - just the Tecnam left now.
  5. This plugin does not automatically cycle your views - rather, you hit F9 to move forward one view through the preselected view types, and F8 to cycle back one view (remappable). This functionality is similar to view cycling in MSFS and means that you only need 2 keys to move around the most common views (2d, 3dpit, chase and tower) rather than mapping each view to a key/button. Re your request, I'll have a look into it, no promises though.
  6. Now having a mac I have compiled the plugin for mac as well. Tested for 5 seconds hitting F9, F8 on my mac is mapped to spaces, but I presume if remapped that would work as well and F8 and it appears to work correctly in both forward and backward cycling.
  7. Blowing Carenado's old stuff out of the water, maybe. Not that new caravan though, just look at the screens Admittedly those look like renders, but still sweet
  8. I downloaded the doc and it opens fine in acrobat pro 9, but not in preview. On snow leopard 10.6.4. I tried optimising the file as well, but couldn't output from that something to display in preview, although I did trim the size from 8 to 5 meg
  9. What software are you authoring the manual in and on what platform goran? Guessing from screenshot win7 http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/ on installation untick the install toolbar box, then print to this pdf printer from any app.
  10. I agree with this, but who knows, maybe Carenado's offering for x-plane will be better than those for FSX - haven't seen a cockpit yet, here's hoping.
  11. Amazing news!!! ;D Want the caravan though.. and the seneca II. The mooney is one of their older models, but a good choice for starting off in x-plane.
  12. You need a tough skin for reviewing as no-one will write anything nice about you for doing so, everyone will chip in with their criticisms and disagreements about your review, but won't write their own reviews. That said; reviews shouldn't be pre-approved - it's their independence which gives them credence. Some companies / individuals may supply aircraft free for reviewing purposes, but they can't dictate what you write about them. You should keep reviewing because: 1. It helps people determine whether they would enjoy a product and reduces disappointing buys + excites others to make a good purchase. 2. It raises the profile of products and x-plane as a whole. Sod the developers, here and there - keep your chin up, you're doing a good job - would be better if it was on the web rather than pdf imho, but whatever. People do find your reviews useful, they are just the silent majority (yup I pulled that stat out of my ...) If others want to review products then they can get off their asses and do it themselves to offer their view on it.
  13. I am that good +1 fan point to myself Tom is as well - any other XA devs?
  14. I hope it will start utilising my top end gear more, specifically, all the empty cores
  15. Orbx ? Do they plan to release their sceneries for X-Plane 10 ? Not to my knowledge, my post was justa reply to sully as to what I would love to see in a day shot of xp10. Doubt it will look anything like that but am hoping for some 'at least fsx quality' default airports in at least the major cities
  16. Becuase this sort of thing would be great in x-plane
  17. The insides of some of those planes looks like Javier's work - the X-1 for example. Was one the current MU-2 cockpit?
  18. individual car headlights eh, smooth looking new road textures. osm road data - sweet. Want to see one of those spaghetti junctions though.
  19. need daytime pic... nice catch -again- sully. Those night shots look real - are these for real?
  20. Nice vid, suggestion: If you use the replay function, try cropping the image in a video editor to remove it
  21. Good landing though.
  22. Welcome back Rafael
  23. Aye, Ben needs the karma ;D
  24. These blogs might be useful http://xplanescenery.blogspot.com/2009/06/constraints-of-hardware.html http://xplanescenery.blogspot.com/2008/05/in-previous-post-i-discussed-basic.html It's all speculation really, but I would doubt big leaps in multi core use - more slow evolution
  25. If you're talking about actually simulating an aircraft, then it is the ultimate test. If you're talking about something else, then it has less to do with it. Since this is in relation to 2d vs 3d panels, your point is moot because there would have to be otherwise identical models, one with 2d panel only, 3d panel only and both then a clear preference for said airbus pilots in purchase to the 2d panel only model. In actuality, this is the only game in town and you claim that airbus pilots using it validate the choices made by the aircraft designer - specifically the choice not to model a 3d pit. Yes, we do too. I call that contracting, not working with. It's like me paying you to install my bathroom. I picked the suite and paid you to put it in. Afterwards, I repainted the ceiling. You worked for me, not with me. Working with would be like Javier and Anton or Goran and theo's relationship - they build with lots of feedback between them, a change is needed, they both work together to fix it. That's what I think would do wonders to supplement Peter's skills.
