  1. Hmm, a super connstellation. Same era as the DC-3. Almost identical cockpit gauges. Engineers station. Don't get me started! I got a couple of Boeings to get through. ;D (I can imagine Theo telling me "We have to do a Constellation")
  2. What if it's a REALLY well maintained DC-3? http://duggy.com/DUGGY2010/Photos.html And yes, we're making that repaint. Almost a crime if we didn't.
  3. Unless it was Austin himself that said it, I wouldn't pay much attention to the numbers being thrown around the org shoutbox. People love to speculate.
  4. That's kinda what I wanted to say. Just didn't know how to word it. But hey, if a developer wants to simplify a product, it's less competition for the rest of us that want to make a more complete model.
  5. Very unusual review. He seems to contradict himself in certain areas.
  6. Thanks fella's Framerates will be pretty good. So far with an unoptimized 3d mesh, I'm getting 60-70 fps on the ground. Of course, that's without the cockpit and textures.
  7. I plan on making a couple of variants. The viewmaster windows look easy enough. Shouldn't be an issue.
  8. That's the main gear done.
  9. I spend my days on my day project. This is my night project. Theo's going to hate me.
  10. I'll leave that opinion up to the reviewers and customers.
  11. Ooh yeah guys! Love that seat already. But God, are all those dc3 interiors that phlegm-green? I really hope not. Would keep the pilots awake I suppose. Wait til you see what other textures we plan on adding. All based on real DC-3's
  12. Theo is getting very eager to texture this one. I've paid for some high resolution texture sets a few days ago and Theo is very happy with how they look. Here's a little sample of the cabin seat.
  13. Thx for the feedback, guys. I'm juggling a couple of projects atm but this one shouldn't take long at all.
  14. For the last couple of months, my work on the Saab has been mostly organising various areas, acting as consultant to Cameron (for programming) and typing up the documentation. The documentation is just about done but I need a 100% working version of the Saab so I can finish it and Cameron is continuing that side of things. So in between that and a couple of other things I have going, I have continued work on the DC-3 and this serves as a formal announcement that this will be the next project Theo and I will continue with while the Saab is being finished. With that, here are the first few screenshots: (I know of the mesh issues. As usual, all will be fixed) EDIT: Uploaded to Flickr.
  15. More coding and we're giving way to the CRJ EXPRESS.
  16. You may have "Autorun" turned off. If this is the case, go into your Windows Explorer, select the Disc Drive, find the X Plane executable file and double click it. I know you said you got a new x plane disc, but check the disc anyway for scratches, dirt, smudges, etc... You may also have dirt or dust inside the disc drive. Give it a good blow inside the drive or even better, get a can of compressed air and use that.
  17. I'm used to modelling close up and working on 1 gauge at a time. Looking at it from that perspective makes me want to start consuming copious amounts of alcohol.
  18. Decisions have been made. I'll be posting something very soon with regards to the Saab and the next side project.
  19. If all else fails, delete preferences.

    Project 3

Pixel shaders hit the framerates pretty hard. if it was up to me, I would get rid of the pixel shaders if the fps were getting hit. I prefer to have anti aliasing so I can read the displays. 512MB card should be fine. We have a few test rigs we're trying it on and everything looks good.
  21. Sent you an email.
  22. Jeff, we all love Ben. He's full of character. I can tell you that I have gotten feedback from a select few people and they have given me very positive feedback on the Saab. In appearance, flight model, systems modelling and performance. However, it's very different to the CRJ (obviously) in many ways. In any case, we're confident people will enjoy it. The manuals will be available to download soon and you'll get to see everything that's in it. It's testament to how powerful Gizmo really is. And we're still only scratching the surface.
  23. Wow, thanks. I sure hope the Saab lives up to expectations. We've had some great feedback so far.
