I have a pretty tight schedule today and tomorrow. I might be able to fly tonight if you want to jump onto NetFlight. If we want to see each other in the correct aircraft on NetFlight, we both have to have the same planes. That doesn't mean we have to FLY the same plane, but that we both have to own the plane that the other is flying. NetFlight doesn't use CSL files the way VATSIM, X-FlightServer and PilotEdge do.

Yep! Here's what the ReadMe file says about the 4K textures: "Creating 4k Repaints for X-plane 10 X-plane 10 supports 4k textures (4096x4096 pixels). This allows repainters to create liveries with crisper, less pixilated results. Please note that the underlying graphics for this blank livery have NOT been re-made from the ground up, so they can not really be referred to as "HD"; they have simply been up-scaled and sharpened a bit. But the results of any text or other graphics added to this higher-resolution canvas should yield much better results in v10. A tip: Since 4k textures take quite a lot of computing resources to process in Photoshop, it might be advisable to start out by creating a smaller 1k or 2k livery as a temporary draft. This will allow you to position everything as needed before applying the design to a high-res 4k texture. For more help on how to do repaints, please go to the following link: https://carenado.zendesk.com/entries/21701780-How-do-I-create-repaints-of-a-X-Plane-Carenado-planes- FOR V9 REPAINTS: If you wish to re-palnt this plane for v9, please use the graphic textures found in this plane's "objects" folder as a 2k base, since v9 does not support 4k textures." This ReadMe file is included with most of the V2 updates, but it's missing from the V35, F33A, C172N and Archer II. The omissions are being corrected as I type this.

Indeed! However, Dan does the hard work. I get to do the fun part...flying them.

Carenado has just posted their updated Bonanza V35 and Bonanza F33A at http://www.carenado.com. This brings the total updates to seven, including: Mooney M20JPiper Saratoga PA32R-301 Piper Archer II PA28-181Cessna C172N IICessna C152IIBeechcraft V35 BonanzaBeechcraft F33A Bonanza Get your updates from the vendor from whom you made your original purchase. If you bought directly from Carendao, go to your "My Account" page and click the download link. Even though your product list doesn't title the aircraft as V2, the new download will be the most current version. Your number of downloads should be augmented to allow for the new download.

Click cmnd - o, then use q and e for left and right and use r and f for up and down on a Mac. Pressing w gives you 2D forward view with panel.

Check out http://www.airnorthwest.org We have a whole division dedicated to flying old warbirds for air shows and aerobatics. Access to them is based on rank and flight hours so it takes a while to be eligible, but we do have the largest and most diverse fleet of any VA. We may not be a perfect fit for you, but we are an X-Plane based (and Mac friendly, for sure) virtual airline. Check us out! For formation flying, are you proposing VATSIM, IVAO, NetFlight, X-FlightServer or PilotEdge? I've done a bit of formation flying on NetFlight and X-FlightServer mainly to avoid dealing with ATC. I know PilotEdge is more than happy to accommodate aerobatics.

I have both the DC-3 and the T-28C and I enjoy flying them both. Both require flying by the book and careful eyes on the gauges to keep the engines purring. Both have their own challenges, but I think it comes down to flying a bus vs flying sports car. They handle completely different. For me, it's definitely a coin toss on these two and you can't go wrong with either one. They are both first rate in every way. Keep in mind one is Gizmo and one is SASL. Not an issue if you're flying V10, but if you're still flying V9.7 you may want to weigh that factor.

Okay, I'll work on my delivery. What one person thinks is creative writing another thinks is drivel. I'll work on being more plain in my posts to leave no doubt. However, I can't help it if some take things so personally. Couldn't agree with you more, Corey. I never said I wasn't excited about the V10 version.

Corey, sent you a PM. Thanks.

First, my apologies for prompting this type of response in this thread. I didn't intend to turn this into a "rant" type thread. Holy cow! The "I don't understand" comment was simply rhetorical. Literally, I DO understand. As for the vaporware topic, if you've never read it, how can you call it ridiculous? You may want to hold that judgement until you've had the opportunity to read it for yourself. It was only posted to provoke some thought and discussion, much like several of the "is it ready?" type comments in this very thread and other threads about upcoming projects. I never intended it to be offensive. Some would think it was poor taste while others can see the humor in it. I don't care how you wish to interpret it, but you really should withhold judgement until you've actually read it. Indeed, it was promised, long before V10 came along, as a free update.....for V9.7. And then along came V10 and all of a sudden, the promised update for V9.7 was dumped. Hence, my disappointment that it will not be available, as promised, for V9.7. I bought X-Plane V10 within minutes of it being released, so that's not the issue. The issue I have with this "update" is that a V9.7 update was promised and it's not going to be delivered. Thus, my "suggestion" that this version be called V2. Huh? Let me clarify my intent, since some of you seem to misinterpret nearly everything I post. I'm only expressing my opinion just as other members of this forum post theirs. I think this update, even though I haven't seen it, DESERVES to be called V2. It's a positive affirmation, not a negative dig. I'm not suggesting it has to be done "my" way. Although I am, as I've already stated, disappointed it won't be available for V9.7. I doubt I am the only MU-2 customer who will be disappointed. I think anyone who bought the MU-2 during the V9 run and was promised an update to that product will feel a bit let down. I, too, appreciate all their efforts. That's why my post starts with my expression of appreciation. Tom is a talented developer and great asset to the X-Plane community, as is Ben. Cameron is an astute businessman. Contrary to what you may think, I do not "enjoy" complaining. I do, however, enjoy standing up for things I believe in. Thanks for seeing my point. That's all I really wanted by making post #647. It is, indeed, a MAJOR update and I'm sure it's a doozie! As a user of Photoshop for as long as I can remember, I understand a bit about the fluidity of the software world. Now that's funny! Well played, my friend! I never implied that, Tom, nor do I think you are anything but honorable. I have great respect for your work. I know how personal your work is to you, but I don't mean anything personal by my posts. Heh! Well played again, Tom! Oh, I get it, Tom. I certainly get it and I accept it. Just voicing my disappointment that it won't be V9.7. I know V10 is way "cooler" and I do fly V10 from time to time, but there are things in V9.7 that I enjoy a lot more than V10. Change is good, but not always better. While there are many things that are "better" in V10, V9.7 still has a lot to offer and it is still a viable product that is still available directly from Laminar and other outlets. Thank you again, Tom, for all your work with the MU-2 and the work you do at Laminar. Thank you, Ben, for your efforts with Gizmo. Thank you, Cameron, for providing way to bring these great products to market. And thank you, Cameron, for building a site where thoughts and opinions can be shared freely.

I hit send before I was done.....stay tuned for an update.....

While I'm excited and grateful for all of your hard work, I don't understand why you're calling this an update rather than Version 2. It isn't V9.7 compatible and it isn't even 32 bit compatible. With as much time and work you've put into this bird, seems to me you should be calling this one Version 2. I don't think a "free update" should include the requirement of purchasing new software.

I like flying at daybreak and at nightfall for this reason. Runway lights on and dramatic skies.

Looks like you could benefit from a sweet little plugin called Clear Skies. It gets rid of the "fog" momentarily or always. At least it would make your screenshots more interesting rather than looking like you've exceeded minimums. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=1728 - Mac http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=3580 - PC

incompatibility with Saitek Panels
steven winslow replied to Belga's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
I would much rather have my Saitek panel functionality. I spent a lot more on my Saitek gear than any aircraft and if the aircraft is not going to play nice with my Saitek gear, I won't buy it. -
I'm pretty sure you won't need a plugin. I'm unaware of any plugins for the yoke/throttle quadrant. There are plugins for the Radio Panel, Switch Panel, Multi Panel and Backlit Info Panel available, but I don't think there is anything for the yoke. I do have the cd that comes with the yoke buried somewhere if you need it. It is useless for Mac.

Have you assigned any functions to those buttons in the Joystick and Equipment menu? Go to Settings>Joystick and Equipment>Buttons: Adv tab and make the button assignments you want. I use the hat switch to select my views (primarily in V9.7), the left hand "trigger" button is my Contact ATC button, the switch on the left hand I use to do screenshots (forward) and toggle quicktime movies (back), the switch on the right hand I use to start/stop timer and to reset the timer, the button I use to reset my view to forward with panel and the wheel I use also to contact ATC on VATSIM. I'm on a Mac so the only function that works is the stopwatch. I don't remember which button controls it, but you can figure that out. The switches on the throttle quadrant I use to turn on transponder and squawk, select fuel tank, Load FMS plans, carb heat on and off, etc.

I agree, Mario. She actually is a pretty sweet bird!

I hear you. It IS kind of a pain, but being in the loop is worth the pain in the butt. Noooo.....I didn't say that at all! I just said I didn't notice any posts on the FJS forums concerning the problem. I would have provided a link had I seen any relevant posts. I haven't had a chance to fire up X-Plane and look at it myself, but if my memory serves me correctly, I do recall the panel was pretty fuzzy the last time I flew the Dash.

Seriously? I had to re-register and it took about 30 seconds. Looks like they did a total remake of the site, hence the need to re-register. Knowing Jack, I bet they posted something about it in the old forums that I probably missed because I rarely checked their forums. Then again, an e-mail notification would have been nice. I didn't notice any posts concerning the panel resolution.
