  1. These "fixes" don't work. You can enter procedures out of your departure airport and procedures back into that airport. As soon as you attempt to enter a destination airport the sim will shut down. I completely understand why the TBM team cannot attempt to fix this as XP 11.3xxx is a moving target. I am an XP fan and have been for years but this is a very frustrating period. Perhaps Laminar should take a breath - I'm in no hurry for Vulcan and don't care (right now) for VR. I know these technologies are the future but we don't HAVE to get there by 5PM today...LOL!
  2. @Patrick G. Everything works except the chart feature. And works very well, I might add. Had two flights today to check out something else - the TBM performed beautifully. Full disclosure - I have to say the take off run continues to be very, very squirrelly (spelling?) but that is the only "con" I can come up with. Otherwise, near perfect! Make sure you turn on the AP on the upper panel...LOL!
  3. @Goran_M is this a fix for both the incorrect splash screen data AND the missing charts?
  4. Glad it's not just me! Beautiful model, all these "extra's" kind of spoiled us, don't you think? LOL!
  5. No Goran, just inside the US - East Coast and West Coast...
  6. I posted this in the General Discussion Forum but it probably should have been here. Previously, I was able to access all the charts I needed for a flight right on the MFD using the charts softkey. Now when I attempTBM900_Log.txtt this I get a "chart not available" message. I have reinstalled (new downloads) a few times thinking something might be corrupted but still no joy on the chart access. What did I do? LOL! Log.txt
  7. I don't know what happened or what I did but previously I was able to access WX, Airport Diagrams, STAR'S, etc on the MFD but now they are gone. What am I missing?
  8. Hi skiselkov! Don't change anything until it's a "stable" 11.3X! TBM users can just go to windowed mode for start up and shut down. Jeeesch, it's just a couple of clicks on the keyboard...
  9. Hi Goran_M! Just consider this a bug report...LOL! No one expects you folks to support XP beta's - that would be like trying to beat back the sea with a stick. Just click on a windowed view when you need to use the side bar - then back to full screen if you desire. The side bar isn't there while you're flying anyway. Same thing when you land and want to shut down. Easy fix. However, I do hope you folks can solve this when 11.3 is released. Best, Ken
  10. Hi wain! Thanks for the heads up. I will take a look...
  11. Has anyone else tried the TBM with beta 5? It seems to work OK but the left menu items do not appear so you can't do the W&B, GPU, etc. stuff. Just curious...
  12. 182's are great. Super honest and if you can close the doors you can get airborne. We don't need no stinkin' weight and balance...LOL!
  13. Yep, I check that when I disable the AP. No issue on landing so far - this model hand-flies very nicely...
  14. Thanks @Goran_M! Regardless this is the aircraft model I'll be "flying" most of the time. I've really enjoyed and learned from your videos - thank you! That's funny - I thought that was your video... Best, Ken
  15. Interesting discussion. @Goran_M I want to be clear that I have absolutely no issue with any other flight phase or ground handling phase of the TBM model. It taxi's perfectly and realistically - among the best I've experienced. Hey it may be too easy. The climb out and cruise performance is flawless at least from the standpoint of a tired old C182 pilot. I have no experience a poor landing yet although it took just one experience with too much reverse on the roll out to learn to use that tool sparingly...LOL! So, I'm sticking to my guns here about the take off roll situation. Going into a bit more detail the TBM can be managed on the take off roll to some degree if you "dance" on the pedals (tail wheel experience, anyone) very softly but I don't think that equates to the real world. I think @WaarEagle may have a point about something in the yaw response. By the way, my only experience with a turboprop on take off was in a King Air - gray day with no wind. It was easier than my C182...LOL!
  16. I agree this is one of the best if not the best model in it's class available to the XP community. However, (LOL!) the take off run in this aircraft is over the top twitchy. I'm an (ex) real world pilot with about 600 hours in a C182 (that's a lot of landings - always able to use the aircraft again) and a fairly experienced XP pilot since 2014 (I think) and the TBM has a mind of it's own on the take off run (no better in 11.30b3 by the way - although that's not important). I've also seen this behavior while watching streamers use this model so it's not just my incompetence. Even using the neat fine tuning to the axis' in beta 3 it's not possible to keep this "wandering" under control. I use the Gladiator MkII and the T-Rudders - no issue with any other aircraft. By the way a pilot friend allows me take off in his Lancair (he has two(!) - one is pressurized and retractable) occasionally and although it's more of a handful than a 182 I can still keep centerline with NORMAL rudder inputs. Having said all of this and it's a lot let me finish by saying this is the only segment of flight that I find wanting with this model. But I do believe the dev's need to address this...
  17. Sorry folks. The "unable vnav" message from me was due entirely to pilot error. I typically make the same mistake 5 or 6 times just to make sure...LOL! TBM works in b2 but I don't think the engine and performance is accurate (but we knew that, didn't we)...
  18. Seems the vnav is inop in .30b2. Otherwise seems OK...
  19. Hi SirJohn62, I've also had issues with VNAV. However, after watching the supplied youtube tutorial and some others I've found the VNAV works perfectly. Almost identical to the real thing - close enough for government work for sure...LOL! It is a bit more of a hassle to work in the sim than in real life (as is the simple 430 - I have extensive RW experience with this one) but you just have to configure "shortcuts" and views that work for you. The TBM900 is a hands on thing to fly - and here I thought turboprop aircraft engine management was just a set it and forget it thing...NOT!!!
  20. Thanks! I can also confirm an engine shut down in mid flight as mentioned by other posters after the #6 update. Guess we'll just have to wait for the fixes. No worries, still a terrific model...
  21. Thanks skiselkov! The temporary "toggle" solution works fine. Looking forward to the next build. By the way, can I save a "previous" build on my desktop in case of issues with the latest fix?
  22. Yes, the latest update - #6 I believe - has broken the brakes. During the checking process (making sure it wasn't pilot error...LOL) I noticed that if I paused the sim the brakes would work - at least the visual of the foot pedals and the parking brake knob would turn. Hope they fix this quickly as I don't keep a copy of the previous version...
