  1. Exactly. I have upgraded both on my current machine. Why apple solders the video cards to the motherboard is still beyond me though. That was my fear. Which is exactly why I'm looking at this now: http://store.apple.com/us_edu_242840/product/FC511LL/A?mco=MjEwNTcxMTA
  2. Ha funny... PC hehehehe. I can get Linux and Mac on my Mac with REFIT. But please, let's not start a MAC vs. PC war. I asked for advice on already decided product buy. Ya, I remembered after I posted that apple always triples the price of RAM. So a RAM upgrade would cheaper buying the RAM separately.
  3. I am planning on buying a new iMac this weekend because it is tax free weekend here in TN. The tax free thingy applies to computers up to $1500. I am going to get either the 2.5ghz 21.5 inch or the 2.7 ghz 21.5 inch. Just stock, the 2.7ghz is right at $1500: http://store.apple.com/us/configure/MC812LL/A?select=select&product=MC812LL%2FA&mco=MjIwNTQ2NTA Just stock, the 2.5ghz is $1199: http://store.apple.com/us/configure/MC309LL/A?select=select&product=MC309LL%2FA&mco=MjIwNTQ2NTk So here is my idea. If I get the 2.5ghz one, I can upgrade that one to 8gb of RAM and still be under $1500. So in your opinions, which computer would be better? The 2.7ghz quad core, with 4gb of RAM, or the 2.5ghz quad core with 8gb of RAM? I didn't mention the video cards because both come stock with 512mb VRAM non upgradable which I am fine with. Cheers
  4. Wow! Stop your complaining guys! It hasn't gotten below 100 during the daytime in a month or so here at KBNA. Add 75% humidity or more everyday and you can't go outside!
  5. Ya I covered that in my blog today. Sure looks interesting. Let's see what Nicolas sets the price as.
  6. Has the .org stopped selling their offerings?
  7. Ya that system can handle every plane in x-plane. You would be hard pressed to find something you couldn't run without some rendering options tweaking. Your video card is great!
  8. Any chance that you have thee edits at higher resolutions? I would love to have them on my desktop but they both look a little grainy at 1200x796,
  9. I even heard a devel preview was leaked via torrent.
  10. I am sure laminar is part of the apple developer program. They probably test XP on the beta or developer release, whatever you wanna call it. If it didn't work they would probably be scrambling to get 9.71 out.
  11. Oh no not a problem at all. It was my mistake. And who hasn't gotten a 6 and 9 messed up?
  12. Ahhhh! I can't believe I did that. I did proofread heavily actually. It's just the 9's and 6's getting messed up. Sorry!
  13. New Review! Socata TB9 Tampico
  14. Woah! Silly me. I copied and pasted a bunch of links from XP gateway. They have the old one I guess. Will fix later today.
  15. Just edited A BUNCH of html code. We should be up and running for good now!
  16. What do you mean? ------------------------------- I have made my first real post besides previously written reviews. I will be greatly expanding the content soon so don't write me off just yet! I have big plans. Cheers
  17. Hi All! I have started my very own X-Plane blog, X-Plane Chat. I'm really big into writing. I have always wanted to write about X-Plane and have taken the initiative and started my own blog. I envision it being similar to XP10 blog. However, I don't want to infringe on them at all or compete. In the coming weeks and months, I will be posting payware reviews, freeware reviews, scenery reviews, rants, X-Plane news, and just about everything you can think of, Please check out my first post and first review: http://x-planechat.blogspot.com/2011/07/hello.html http://x-planechat.blogspot.com/2011/07/pipers-970-review.html I hope you enjoy the content I post in the future. Cheers, Simon B
  18. Exactly Cameron. A 2.2 ghz Core Duo is a hell of a lot slower than a 2.2 ghz i7. The bus speeds and the card size and all that jazz factors in. As for the preffered video cards, I've heard that Nvidia also works quite well on mac. But I have only tried an ATI and am very pleased.
  19. The tail number.
  20. Thanks Jack and MDMAX. I hope you guys had as much fun reading it as I did writing it.
  21. airliners.net had these: Cheers
  22. Took about a month for mine so don't worry. That's normal XPFW behavior.
  23. Goran already said earlier in the thread he plans on making multiple versions. I'll bet there are two cockpit versions.
