  1. Yeah, I got that too. I told atc and went with 1701 (in leiu of 0701), but it would be good to get this fixed...
  2. Lets start a thread for liveries we'd like to see made for the CRJ. I have no idea how to make one (though I'd like to learn), but maybe I'll let the pros handle it for now: US Airways (an obvious one!) Independence Air (defunct but a great paint job) Go! Airways
  3. Let me know when you do, I'll be happy to raise a toast with you
  4. Not a problem Ben, I more than understand. That was an excellent explanation and and made a lot of sense. That said, I can't wait to also experience the Saab and its systems in the same way I was excited for the CRJ. What you all do with 1s and 0s I will probably never understand, but the end result never ceases to amaze me. As for your workplace woes, I can relate more than you know. Before I moved here to Florida for flight school, I worked 3 jobs totaling to around 80 hours/week as well as was in the middle of finishing my instrument airplane rating. My nerves and patience was frayed beyond all belief, and like you, I certainly didn't need the gym membership from all the running around (and working a warehouse job) either. Best of luck, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you've accomplished. -Jeff
  5. Same, I was very happy with the way the sounds played on my computer. Startup was a little funky, but smoothed out, and I noticed a little phase imbalance in-flight, but I was also working in other windows on my computer at the same time, so it could have been induced...

    CRJ-200

From the few jets I've flown (Cessna Citation CJ1, Beechjet 400) it seems pretty accurate. I remember the controls being heavy, but smooth, which is good because it allows you to apply measured force for precision, rather than throwing it around like an Extra 300!
  7. In case anyone wants the same information, or cares for that matter, I found some data online that proved to be pretty accurate: Taxi fuel: 200lbs/hr per engine T/o + Climb (1st hour of flight time): 3500 lbs Cruise burn: 1200-1500lbs/hr per engine Approach: 300lbs/hr per engine Landing/taxi: 200lbs/hr per engine As per FAA regulations, you will want enough reserve fuel to also fly to your alternate field + 45 minutes of hold time. Hope that helps!

    CRJ-200

Thanks-But it looks so pretty! Yes I have lots to learn...great! Touche! I think the thing that impressed me the most isn't so much the graphics, although when you stop to look at the details, its stunning, but the way it flies beggars belief. When you rotate, it doesn't LEAP off the ground like a lot of flight models do, but it actually ROTATES. Nose up, positive rate, gear up, establish climb pitch, and you're on your way. Its nothing short of miraculous. That said, some of the details I noticed around the graphics side blew me away. Like the reflection of the beacon on the rest of the aircraft, or how when it fires, shadows are drawn by the antennas on the spine of the plane. Or the shadows of the throttle quadrant when the glareshield lights are turned up. Was definitely a pleasant place to sit and stare at for my delivery flight last night!
  9. Whoa there big-guy... caught me at what? I asked a question to see how it worked. Not sure where the harm is in that...

    CRJ-200

Might wanna cancel that master caution light Nice vid man!
  11. The CRJ is certainly going to be a benchmark to aim for! Along that front, are you all going to try and optimize the Saab to take advantage of multi-core systems like the CRJ, or have you been able to work the aircraft so the framerates are high out of the box?
  12. Yeah, crazy concept, eh? A pilot actually has to fly a plane rather than just push some buttons! :
  13. Navigraph is not necessary, by any means so far as I've encountered. I was able to follow the instructions for the FMS and get it programmed pretty easily and accurately. There are definitely a few bugs, but none have affected my experience, so far, and once I was able to work around the start-up issues (conflict with the x737 acf, and xmapping anomalies) its been nothing but smooth flying!
  14. There's a big difference between what an airplane CAN do and what an airplane SHOULD do. Sure, the aircraft I'm flying now CAN do a roll, but they SHOULD NOT do one. If you fly the plane like a professional pilot (keeping speeds realistic, comfortable rates of climb/descent) the plane should behave normally. I'm currently on autopilot, flying my delivery flight, and I've yet to see the issues you're coming up with...
  15. Currently level at FL320, M 0.73, but with a stiff head/crosswind up here. 1,089 miles to go!
  16. I'm loving this thing right now... Took me about 2 hours to get everything straight, but I'm currently crossing the CAN/USA border at 19000 feet for FL320 with 2.5 hours of flight time left to go! GREAT AIRPLANE!!! Totally worth the money EDIT: On VATSIM doing my flight, and I've had a few people ask what I'm flying. People seem to be pretty excited on there for this acf to come out, and I might have made a few MFS'ers consider coming over to X-plane for it!
  17. I'm getting a constant crash, every time I try to load up the CRJ. log attached Log.txt
  18. So i'm getting ready to make my first flight in the CRJ. Understandably, I'm excited, but even further, plan on flying it like a professional. As such, I have my flight plan from the delivery factory in Montreal Mirabel (CYMX) and will be making the trek to Melbourne, FL (KMLB), the closest airport with commercial service with the CRJ. So I am thrilled to see the planning performance numbers listed with the CRJ POH, but one I did not see was specific fuel burn calculations. Airliners are rarely filled to the brim, and I plan on only fueling the aircraft for the flight, plus reserve. Is there any access for taxi, climb, cruise and descent fuel burn numbers? Additionally, I see the Vspeed definitions are given, but unless I missed them, specific values are not provided in the POH, either. I can't wait to get this bird off the ground, just need a little more info, if its available! -Jeff
  19. Boom, there it is. Congrats guys and Happy Mother's Day!
  20. That's what its saved for, as of now... I really want the Q400 as well, but unfortunately, my money only goes so far.
  21. I still think this is one hell of a hard approach to fly by hand... Did it in the Seminole FRASCA the other night...
  22. Let it rest man! I'm glad you have the privilege on the forum to speak your mind, but you should start exercising your right to be quiet and wait like the rest of us.
  23. I was gonna go with this...
