  1. I'm going to be there tomorrow! Just talked to some friends and they said it looks like a war zone. At least 50 airplanes overturned/tossed. I hope this doesn't postpone the show at all, but its certainly a terrible situation. I hope everyone is okay, and nothing too expensive (or priceless) got bent.
  2. Truth... It "killed" me earlier today when I pulled too much power off on short-final, foolishly thinking I had the runway made. Anyone know what Vref is for the beast?
  3. I haven't looked to see if there are any alternate liveries, but if there are, I see a shark's mouth in my near future on the nose of that airplane. Only question I have is the Latest Rumor/Blue Champange B-17 (for which the tail code is the same as XPFR's) is listed as a B-17F-75-DL 42-03547 and construction number 8483. I thought your model was supposed to be a B-17G? What's the difference?
  4. New scenery and a new airplane on my computer... Gotta love it!
  5. Just purchased the RealScenery Florida pack... expect some shots from that soon!
  6. 1) Got it. I just didn't have enough juice in the system to be fully effective. I'll try again today. 2) While I get what your saying about throwing the props into HIGH RPM to get more drag on the plane, I was afraid of overspeeding the props at that point. Its a definite possibility, even with the throttle at idle...
  7. VERY realistic startup and procedures. I can't believe how much fun it was to get going and to fly! The model is absolutely perfect in nearly every way, but I do have a few questions/problems. 1) The coefficient of friction between the tires and the earth seem a little wonky. With both left-side engines running the plane starts spinning to the right (user error most likely, but the tail wheel was LOCKED) Also, ground handling without differential thrust controls was nearly impossible to make it look good. I have my tailwheel rating in real aircraft and I never had problems like this! The brakes seemed a bit anemic to me... 2) The plane is a BI*CH to get slowed down in flight. I had to pull the props all the way back to low RPM and the MP to idle to get it slowed at all for landing... any suggestions? Otherwise, this is probably the BEST model I've experienced in X-plane so far. The flight model, systems, art, and sounds are absolutely sublime! While its not as useful to me as the SAAB 340 is going to be in my studies, its certainly going to be my go-to aircraft for FUN! Thanks for putting this out XPFR, you really hit it out of the PARK!
  8. Close them cowl flaps!!!
  9. Already got my first flight planned out for this beast: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/CJC7806/history/20110325/0215Z/KIAD/KUNV Saw them come in every day while I was in college!
  10. Does this count? PA28-161 Warrior
  11. I know I've been following this project for a few months and am beyond excited for it. In fact, I've not only refrained from buying any other models for the sole purpose of buying this one, but also gotten ahold of rudder pedals, a yoke, and throttles for my computer to give myself a more realistic flight experience. I'm currently attending the FlightSafety Academy for professional pilots (we have a Saab 2000 sim here), so this is going to be superb for my multi-engine and complex systems training!
  12. I've been waiting to buy my next payware plane for this release. With all the amazing models coming to the market now, I'm gonna have to put a lot of money aside to fund my "habit"
