  1. Sorry... I can't help you with this problem... I don't know where the temp files are located.
  2. That's a good question. This should happen without you doing anything. So, either your connection is slow or the download servers are very busy at this time. If I had this problem, I would try the following: 1. restart the internet router 2. restart the pc and then wait some minutes until your internet is back up again and try again. This will very like solve a problem at your end, if one existst. If the download servers are the culprit here, you have to wait for them to recover.
  3. Yes... slow internet connections are really frustrating when it comes to large downloads like this one. But this maybe could be a reason why your library file seems to be corrupted - and this is good news because the problem is fixable easily then. I think you have to be patient and finish the download process completely. Then, once it's done, make a backup copy of the seasonsxp folder, just for sure. I have no idea where the downloader stores temporary files - the final installation gives you the SeasonsXP folder with the seasonal content and the TerraMaxx plugin inside the X-Plane plugins folder.
  4. I am not a member of X-Aviation, but John is. I just kown a bit about how TerraMaxx works because I got into it for creating seasonal sceneries. And I know the library.txt error because I created this error myself already with one of my own libraries - so I thought I could myabe solve your problem. :-)
  5. Seems as if something went wrong with your installation. Did you do anything to the SeasonsXP/library.txt file? Try uninstalling and reinstalling TerraMaxx and before modifying any files make a backup copy of the SeasonsXP folder. The log.txt states your are using XP 11.11r2? As far as I know TerraMaxx needs the 11.20 beta version to run.
  6. Looks great... :-D
  7. Well... for my own trees, the concept is focused more on creating harmony and nice visuals than realism. A problem I found is that greyish looking trees might be more realistic and can look nice when seen from above but they ruin the visuals when seen from a viewpoint on ground completely. Because of this I currently trying to find a balance between both, to make visuals great on ground and when in the air.
  8. Actually, this is not designed for custom airports but for solving the default airport's runways and taxiways which can't be changed by TerraMaxx for technical reasons. Of course, the polygons will also work with custom scenery packages, but I think they will be useless on larger othophotos covering a bit more than the airport. On the other side, the pole files tweak could be implemented into TerraMaxx so users don't have to do the needed steps themselves.
  9. That's even worse... I will give it a try once I find the time to do it. It's basically just replacing a texture for my trees library and can be reverted easily.
  10. I know and this can be clearly seen in TerraMaxx's technical structure based on the x-plane library system. This approach is always open because you can always hijack the virtual paths with a new library placed on top of the original one. But, my question is, are bare trees looking bad in X-Plane because of technical reasons? I expect the rendering engine to mess up very fine bitmap structures and causing shimmering.
  11. I suspected things like this for the leaves on the winter trees because X-Plane is not very good in rendering very thin details and causing flickering/shimmering in those cases. Further the objects will disappear earlier than one would like (the details are smaller than one pixel on the screen and thus they are not displayed) so farther trees are not displayed at all making the whole scenery look somewhat odd. John, maybe you can confirm this theory of mine? If the above is the case and you tried already I can use my time for something different than trying (and very likely failing) myself with my own trees. Some people already requested bare winter trees and I told I will look into it. Regarding 'plausible scale' I don't have any problems with the trees as they are now (including my own ones) because the scenery in general looks very nice in winter - and I highly recommend UrbanMaxxV3 to use also, because it enhances mild winter visuals drastically (less plain white scenery, more detailed).
  12. And it is seamless (as long as UrbanMaxxV3 is also used, for the winter ones): EDDK seamless integration screenshots - FlyAgi.de By the way, UrbanMaxxV3 really makes a difference in winter seasons, especially in mild winter.
  13. Regarding Aerosoft: Their Approaching Dortmund for X-Plane will very likely also get TerraMaxx support for all seasons. But actually I came here to show my second seaons implementation for the upcoming EDDK Köln Bonn Airport V3 by Ced Gauche. Here is the link to the screenshots, I just finished it some minutes ago: EDDK V3 preview with TerraMaxx seasons - FlyAgi.de
  14. I think the bigger problem in the 1.0 release are the (easily fixable) terrain polygon files. Airports which make use of them really look bad in winter. The green taxiways and runways are left then but they don't break the visuals as much as the terrain polygon files do and can be overridden by seasonal polygon add ons like the one I made by the user himself - this is some work to do but this is fast and simple, there is no deeper knowledge in scenery design or WED needed.
  15. The pol files tweak can be implemented. However, the default airport stuff is different because the runways and taxiways are not parts of the X-Plane library and so they can't be overridden using the library concept (this is what TerraMaxx uses for the seasonal changes). I think for a proper implemetation of the airports there have to be changes made to X-plane itself so it allows the airport related assets to be accessed by the library system. AddOn Scenery is a completely different story - there is no way making them seasons ready completely automated.
  16. It IS worth it. I'm still getting into the seasons stuff but so far my results are awesome - regarding the fact that I did never create winter orthos before. Look at my sceenshots, scroll down to the bottom, there you can see the latest results (the upper ones were to clean in winter for my taste). EDXE Seasons Screenshots - FlyAgi.de
  17. This is a cross post from the TerraMaxx anouncment thread because I think this is more or less relevant for getting the best out of TerraMaxx. As there is no dedicated forum (yet) I think it's better to post it here so it's easier to find. Maybe this can be moved to a more appropriate forum when ready. If there is any confusion, just tell me. I just want to support TerraMaxx and so I like to share my results. I finally have made some corrections (thanks to John) and a tutorial for making many airports look better in winter. The tutorial is in german and english - I hope my english is good enough for this. Tutorial - TerraMaxx support for all default airports (english version) - FlyAgi.de For the german version follow the link and scroll up to the first post in the thread.

  19. If you don't have any experience at all, this will not be easy to do. But scenery creation in X-Plane is very easy to get into, just grab WED and start doing it. With some basic technical knowledge and after your first working self made scenery you should get the seasons ready easily. You will at least have to know how library.txt files and virtual paths are working, you will need some skills reverse engeneering John's (or my own) library files to get the idea behind the concept, and, of course, you need some image editing skills for changing the ortho's seasonal colors.
  20. Yes. I don't know if there is a simpler method, but I referenced the ortho pol files using the library and virtual paths.I replaced the real path the orho tiles are using with a virtual one and then delete the originial files so they are only in the seasons folder. It's great to see that X-Plane does not make a difference between a real path and a virtual export path - without that my approach would have failed.
  21. I have my first scenery working now: EDXE with TerraMaxx Seasons - FlyAgi.de If you want to download, just follow the blue highlighted links, on the downloads page you will find the download at the bottom, after the (german) installation guide. For TerraMaxx Seasons to use there is absolutely nothing required to do other than just copy the folders you find in the zip into Custom Scenery.
  22. Well... I finally managed to get everything right in just one single library file. I had to put the default content at the bottom and below all seasons (and using a new region 'default'), now it seems to work with and without TerraMaxx.
  23. So far it seems if I have to build two library.txt per scenery, but maybe I missed something. Putting the non-terramaxx library content into the library makes X-Plane use this content instead of the seasonal content - otherwise it's fine. I will investigate further. For now I am very satisfied with the results as I could replace most of my sceneries vegetation in one go with a new library so there are only the orthos left. Thank you very much. :-) It's fun to use TerraMaxx for this kind of stuff... I messed around the whole day and can't stop. :-)
  24. Holy... awesome... I will get it instantly. And, I start loving TerraMaxx... :-)
  25. I have my onw trees working perfectly fine now. I'm just thinking about a solution for orthophotos without the need of creating library entries for every single tile (some of my sceneries have about 300 of them)... but maybe I already have a solution for creating those entries somewhat automated. So, as it seems I can't embed screenshots here, I have a link to my screenshots demonstrating my HD trees seasonal prototype: https://flyagi.de/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=27 Further, I have a question: Is it possible to create a single library.txt for my scenery that can be used in an untouched XP without TerraMaxx and at the same time providing seasons for users that have TerraMaxx installed? What is UM v3?
