The IXEG and X-Plane 11 Topic [Merged]
lineman55 replied to danitabaires's topic in General Discussion
Ok folks..being Beta XPLANE11 I had attempted 2 flights..from KLGA to KPWM with one successful flight . Nothing special..typical flightplan ..LNAV/VNAV worked flawlessy. 1st flight all good....2nd flight was all good..and while in flight I was playing around with fixes and creating radials and then decided to delete it..and just as I reached my T/D.. nothing happened and then I knew something went awry, so while I was scanning my instruments to make sure all was still good..getting ready for plan B.....2 min in and BANG..Laminar message with email request for log info... Ok ,,so I reset the flight again with small changes in waypoints same Depp/APP , and not fiddling around with FIXES this time, and while prepping for my descent..reached up and activated wing/eng deicing and bang...crash to desktop .Log info requested again. So all in all I had 1 full successful flight in 2 days with this flight plan. Just thought I would throw this out there...and how was your flights?LOL -
really, really impressed with this forth coming update!! Great work everyone!

VNAV descent question when approaching dest
lineman55 replied to lineman55's topic in Flight Procedures and Techniques
Thankyou...but I do understand what you mentioned..my question is how to get the VNAV to follow my Manual ALT input for that leg..it seems to ignore the altitude change because I manually inserted this ALT...UNLESS its precalculated and the text is smaller/standard with the rest of the legs.. I know I can do this with the MCP and a level change...but wondered if there is a way for the FMC to do this. -
Looking to invest in rudder pedals...advice

VNAV descent question when approaching dest
lineman55 replied to lineman55's topic in Flight Procedures and Techniques
Last night I wanted to experiment..so I setup a short hop from KPVD to KLGA..FL110..ARRIVING using a STAR for runway 04. Fiddling around prior to takeoff I somehow managed to change my Target descent/speed from 278 to 210 and Lo n Behold! arrived within a manageable speed that I was able to slow down within a respectable distance.I also find that If I change a particular altitude on a leg..the VNAV ignores that altitude difference in the flightplan. The new altitude numbers stay bold..not matching the original flightplan text size..Is this normal? or is there a way to get it to fall into place so the VNAV will see it? -
Ok everyone..been looking around for some decent rudder pedals...but I don't want a flimsy set. What brand/setup are you using and are they worth it? Prefer something that is not going to need any 3rd party software just to work...but listening anyways..its not so much the cost im worried about.. because they are expensive dosent mean they are the "best" in all cases. Thanks!

VNAV descent question when approaching dest
lineman55 replied to lineman55's topic in Flight Procedures and Techniques
looking FORWARD to these improvements! such an amazing aircraft ..so well done compared to what I have flown over the years in FSX and early XPLANE. Its one slippery bird! -
Ok, I know how to handle my descent altitudes using the MCP as I approach my destination...but what I cant trust is the VNAV handling it by itself. It always seems to be descending to late in the leg..and wont slow down ..speed indicator does not match whats displayed on the CDU leg... even with a strong head wind everything seems to be starting too late..and I have to intervene all the way to 2000' or my last waypoint. Is it critical to enter any kind of wind direction and speed while setting up my route while on the ground? Where would I find out this kind of info if im on the ground? I can see a wind speed/dir that is placed into the FMC where is it getting this info from? XENVIRO that I have? Is the wind information/direction supposed to be displayed for each leg of the route? I tried entering a wind dire/speed where it looks like I can but wont take it. I have been busy watching tutorials which are excellent..but Im wondering if Im missing something....Im all ears!

working on it now....lol

My roll out was starting to drift to the left...and I find it difficult to get it back on track without tipping the wings...but of course I dont have rudder pedals yet....they are combined with the yoke..any tips?

Sorry for being late on reporting back. That was it .. Both were not active. Just the Captains side. love this aircraft!

Never mind...made a modification to the FLAP pot works fine now

I had taken off last night just to work on some procedures..with no flight plan entered...and once I was up at 12000' I wanted to enter an arrival at a nearby airport..and it wouldn't let me.Is this normal in the real world? or do you have to enter all info prior to push back? I couldn't enter anything..fuel weight..nothing.It seems to me a quirk or something...appreciate any info you might have.

FLAPS wont fully retract....Help please!
lineman55 replied to lineman55's topic in 737-300 Aircraft Systems and Operation
You are so right..taking into consideration its a Beta I can understand.. but Im wondering if XPUIPC would work.. does it work just like it did in FSX? That might allow me to get working ..or at least buy some time till XP11 gets up to par.. does it read axis info also? What I did was checked off reverse and now my flap lever works by moving the opposite way but I get full flaps up now...originally I needed just a smidgen of movement to get full up.... -
Has anyone here had any experience using this plugin for adjusting flaps travel on a GoFlight TQ6 unit? or any axis movement for that matter..?

FLAPS wont fully retract....Help please!
lineman55 replied to lineman55's topic in 737-300 Aircraft Systems and Operation
so basicly..my flap handle on this unit is useless..to retract fully I have to assign a key..which I did..and it works..for about a minute..and the problem comes back.So my alternative is to totally disable a vital function on the throttle unit and resort back to key commands....well that was a waste of money -
FLAPS wont fully retract....Help please!
lineman55 replied to lineman55's topic in 737-300 Aircraft Systems and Operation
well that stinks...what a shame...something like FSUIPC worked great in FSX..I tried the software from POTBELLY and this only works for button assignments as far as I can makeout.Appreciate your advice. They really do need a nullzone implemented. How is someone supposed to build a full blown cockpit with buttons only? -
I am using the Goflight TQ6 throttle and in the beginning my flaps worked perfectly....now my calibration for flaps and speed brake do not show fully up..It just comes short like flap 1 The yellow "wings" on my flight screen FMS will not go out unless I force my flap lever past its stop just a bit..then extinguishes. It is effecting my MCP speed also. The flap indicator in the stock 737 in xplane 11 fully retracts..but my IXEG is showing its not...I do have the latest PB5 also.I paid for POTBELLY software also hoping for a solution..but it seems to me its only for button assignments..not axis movements. Any help fully appreciated here! If I assign FLAPS UP with a key command it retracts fully.. I have been in touch with Goflight on this..Speedbrake shows the same..
