  1. Yes quite, but even in beta range with condition levers in max position I require plenty of brake applications to prevent her kangaroooing off the ramp! Works better in the sim (for me personally) if I keep the condition levers min. Thanks Wolf, very professional answer. I would have benefited from the MASTER WARN CONFIG alarm, but I don't believe it's modelled in the sim. By completing the checklist items, I would have eliminated the issue. Very interesting about the friction locks not being on. That's something even a checklist item can't cover I guess. Thanks again. David
  2. Aha! Thank you. That's why the checklists need to be run at each stage! I am used to flying with a first officer who runs the checklists, with me, after each flow. Pretty soon, we will have that first officer, in the shape of Multi Crew Experience. This aircraft is on the "to do" list. You see, the more realistic the simulation, the more you require real world practises! This sim is spot on. Love it! Incidentally, if I had continued with the overheat, would a fire have resulted.....hmmm? Must try that out.:-) Thanks. David
  3. Thanks for the reply Jim. A menu item would be nice. In FSX and P3d there is a ground handling program GSX. You call them, from a menu, a little like Ground Handling De lux by Jardesigns. When the Cargo Loader arrives in position, the cargo doors open. They use FSX custom door opening codes. My imagination was running away with me and I thought how good something like this could be on this aircraft. In fact all X Plane aircraft with opening doors. But I guess its up to Jardesigns to figure out a way to do it? That's a good idea! I have all my num pad keys assigned to flight deck views, but I could assign a couple of them to the door opening positions. What was puzzling me was the pax door controls are behind the open door, so I couldn't find the click spots? I appreciate how complex a control the condition levers are, controlling fuel flow and propeller pitch, but they also link to the throttles. A friend of a friend flies these as Captain and confirms that the condition levers are set at max, from the after start. This is not how the Jetstream J41 flies. In that aircraft, you only set max condition (or flight condition) when your lined up for take off. There is a far more pronounced power surge in the J41, so you do not taxi with condition levers set to flight (or max). Great fun flying these turbo props, they exude raw power and sound marvellous! Thanks for the replies. Regards David
  4. I was just wondering if there could be another way to open and close the Passenger and cargo door? I know the manual clearly states the click spot procedures, however you must be in shift 9 "roaming" view and meander to the inside of the pax door to start clicking. I have no idea how to close the door using the reverse click method, since the reverse procedure involves clicking spots that are behind the door once its opened? Likewise, you have to roam to the outside cargo door to open that and once open you can't close it. Of course the doors close automatically after engine start, but I am too busy to see that action. The animations are superbly done, ditto the stairs, but could there be another method implemented. I was thinking of a link to de lux ground handling, ( similar to the way GSX opens the doors when its used in the "other" sim?) and then for the doors to close when loading is done. Failing that, perhaps a menu panel item? Secondly, I took off the other day with the condition levers in "min" position. Is that possible in the real aircraft? Has any one else come across this? Thanks for a wonderful sim. Regards David.
  5. Thanks Bill. It helps if you have a good first officer;-)

    Alaskan Saab

https://youtu.be/0dJlIuOAsKg The Saab in a flight from Sitka to Juneau. Using Tom Curtis's 3 in 1 scenery, FSGRW, Skymaxx 3 and a novel use if Multi Crew Experience. Happy flight simming. David.
  7. Thanks Goran. The DC3 sim is definitely one that "puts you there"! I also have the SAAB. Seeing the use of the mouse wheel, I wonder if it could be implemented in the DC3? Also, could the mouse wheel be implemented in the altitude barometric pressure adjuster, which I find very hard to adjust with the "click and drag". In fact the only way I can adjust this is to use Multi Crew Experience co pilot, which amazingly, works well with the sim. I say "amazingly" because the DC3 is not an officially supported sim! Regards. David
  8. Hello chaps. Glad its not just me that suffers with those X Plane click spots. If only we could have mouse wheel spots it would be a breeze. Re my "smokin tyres". The issue was only on my Amphibian DC3. I have downloaded the "floats" patch and all is perfect. The wheels retract properly into the floats and the undercarriage wheels revolve and steer correctly. She's an ungainly looking aircraft but I am already very fond of her. Lovely nostalgic simulation that takes airmanship to fly well. Thank you developers:-) Cheers David
  9. I have just purchased the SAAB, (and the DC3!). I have no issues with the use of the condition levers. I have a Saitek X55. My throttle therefore has the usual two throttles and two potentiometers on top and below each throttle. It also has two additional potentiometers on the base plate. Its these last two that I assign the SAAB condition levers to. I also have my Saitek plugged into a USB 3 port. Overkill perhaps, but since XP and the SAAB is reading voltage variations from the potentiometers. I surmise that the more accurate (faster) the voltage variation is read, then the better the interpretation of the position of the levers. Hence perhaps the speed of the USB 3 port is helping? All merely speculation and my opinion of course, but that's my experience so far re the levers. As to the re assigning the controls before each flight, its quick to accomplish in less time than it takes to check the flight controls. Hope this twopenneth adds to the discussion. Thanks for the aircraft. Looks to be one of the best X Plane models so far! (Dc3 excepted of course;-)). Regards David
  10. Hi Claudio, As an aviation simulation flyer, for some years, I enjoy using the REP add on for the Caranedo. However I do have great difficulty starting the engine. It's too easily flooded. I wonder if you could modify the code. I use the A2A products in the "other" sim. I don't have the same trouble starting those adapted aircraft. Thank you for your work, these add ons help to "suspend disbelief" and provide a more useful training environment for new, would be, pilots. As well as old retired flyers who would re create their lost youth! Regards David
  11. Thank you for the help. I had forgotten that a Rar file need unzipping! My fault entirely. Mission accomplished! The lovely old aircraft now flies perfectly, even picked up some speed now that gear can come up into the floats. Regards David
  12. No sir. I downloaded the file and copied it into the DC3 objects folder. I didn't know the file had to be unloaded/unpacked? Sorry, I don't know how to unpack a rar file. Is it the same as a zip file? Probably my lack of knowledge here. Thank you for the reply.
  13. My main gear is permanently stuck down, the left main gear (forward and aft wheels) will not retract. The only gear that works is the forward right gear? Manually activating the levers behind the co pilot reveals that the lower lever appears to be stuck. A clicking sound is herd, but no movement. I have applied the patch. No joy.
  14. Having just purchased this wonderful sim, first of all thanks for a great product! My question is about the fuel selectors. I am having a problem with the mouse click tank selection. The X Plane method is just not my cup of tea. I can not select the main tanks for engine start, only the Aux tanks. Even then after much clicking and messing about. During flight they are very awkward to select accurately. Is there any chance to have a mouse wheel click spot put on the fuel selectors? Also, I may be missing some step here, but the wheel brakes appear to be "locked", when taxying. The parking brake is off and cycling my foot brakes makes no difference? There is burning rubber coming off the tyres! Thanks Regards, David
  15. I have just purchased this superb simulation, just marvellous! Those floats on the Amphibian are very tough. Have you tried landing on Glacial Snow with them? Regards David
