  1. scubajaun, First, make sure that you press and "Hold" the enter key until the waypoint is accepted. I just checked this in the sim and it is working as expected. Let me know how it goes. Jim Hello Jim, and thanks for the quick response. I am still trying without success, 1. Press the FPL Key on the MFD to bring up the Active Flight Plan window. 2. If you are in 2D Mode press the READY PAD Button in the upper right corner of the Active Flight Plan Window to bring up the ReadyPad. 3. Press the INIT Key on the ReadyPad. 4. On the ReadyPad turn the small FMS Knob to the right to bring up the Waypoint Information Window. 5. Using the alphanumeric keys enter the first waypoint (DSD) and press (hold) the ENT Key to accept the entry. 6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to enter the remaining waypoints; MAVER, BTG, and KPDX. I got the first waypoint in but when I press the INIT key the entry is deleted and can't continue entering the subsequent waypoints. how do I move to the next waypoint? I also noticed that with the FMS NAV/COM knob the exterior knob has 2 + arrows I would expect that the right side brings the big + arrow and the left side a big - arrow, but on the left side i get a big + arrow too. How do I enter the speed and altitude for the waypoints (asumming I get the waypoint entry sorted out) Thanks for the help and for a really nice addon scubajuan, OK, I see the problem. The tutorial is not correct, I apologize, use these steps (as per the POH)... 1. Press the FPL Key on the MFD. 2. If you are in 2D Mode – Press the Ready Pad button in the upper right corner of the Active Flight Plan Page to "pop-up" the ReadyPad. 3. A waypoint will be highlighted in the Active Flight Plan Page. 4. Turn the small FMS Knob to the right to display the Waypoint Information Window: 5. Press one of the five "Type"" keys on the ReadyPad to indicate the type of waypoint you want to enter; APT, VOR, L/L, FIX, or NDB: 6. Using the ReadyPad alphanumeric keypad, enter the identifier of the waypoint – when you have completed the entry, the name of the waypoint and its type, will display. 7. Once you have entered the correct waypoint, press (and HOLD) the ENT Key on the ReadyPad until the waypoint is accepted. Repeat steps 4 through 7 to enter another waypoint. Sorry for the confusion. Jim
  2. Nik, I believe this is something that can be done and will put it on the list of changes/upgrades. Jim
  3. scubajaun, First, make sure that you press and "Hold" the enter key until the waypoint is accepted. I just checked this in the sim and it is working as expected. Let me know how it goes. Jim
  4. Andy, Thank you very much for ordering. I know you will enjoy flying this plane a lot Feel free to ask any questions as they come up Enjoy! Jim
  5. The C400 has been released! Please post all support questions here... http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?board=89.0
  6. Maxime, We are verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry close! Hang in there! Jim
  7. I will let Cameron speak about this further but I believe that with the Gizmo DRM system you can NOT make changes in planemaker. The plugin handles the changes in tail number for the various (over 40) liveries that come with this plane. This includes the tail number as visualized in the 2D and 3D cockpit. Jim
  8. The plane is ready and in the hands of the guys at X-Aviation. There are some programming items they need to finish up. As far as the flight model is concerned the speeds at various altitudes and RPM/MP settings are by the book (Columbia POH), as are the fuel flow numbers. Jim
  9. Maxime, Thanks! We are tentatively scheduled for release on Friday, 4/2/10. Jim
  10. Choix, The G1000 graphics are generics. Jim
  11. Here is a brief video of some of the G1000 features. I know it's a little hard to see but you'll get the idea ;D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
  12. Nik, Yes, you can create and view your flight plans on the MFD. Jim
  13. Nik, The flight model is pretty much by the book (Columbia POH numbers) especially for speeds at specific altitudes and engine (manifold/RPM) settings). I spent a lot of time on the fuel consumption as well, and it is very accurate. There is a 160 page POH that will accompany the aircraft (that should cover most everything ;D). There is also a tutorial to help familiarize people with the airplane. Only one custom sound at this point(AP disconnect). I am working on a video to help fill your appetite Jim
  14. inktomi, Much of the G1000 functionality has been simulated, but not all. The complexity and intricacies of the G1000 make it extremely difficult to reproduce completely. I will be continuing to modify and add to the G1000 in the future. I do have a document that gives an overview of the features that have been included and I will try to get that posted so you can download it. Jim
  15. Jason, Thanks for the comments. As Cameron pointed out, the textures are rather bland in real life. The leather in the (real) cockpit has a very fine grain that is very difficult to reproduce. There is also the issue of scaling when using a photorealistic texture on large surfaces, which in my opinion never looks right. I appreciate your input and thanks for the commitment to buying the product. Regards, Jim
  16. Hello Zach, Thanks for your interest. I will try to put together a video that demonstrates the functions of the G1000. Jim
  17. Maxime, I am not ready to release the pricing yet, stay tuned! Jim
  18. Andy, Externally the prop, wheels & tires, front strut, ailerons, flaps, elevator, and rudder are animated. Internally all buttons, switches, handles, etc. are animated. There are also hundreds of animations that make up the PFD and MFD gages, etc.. Thanks for your interest. Jim
  19. Goran, Thanks, I'll keep that in mind Jim
  20. Maxime, Frame rates are always a difficult thing to measure. Between different systems and different settings in X-Plane there are just too many variations to compare between each person's system. I have a rather old system (by today's standards). I am using a Mac G5 2.3Ghz DP with an NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL and 2GB ram. Not a powerhouse at all. I am seeing between 30-40fps. I should note that this plane comes with a complete 2D panel as well as the 3D cocpkit, and in 2D mode the frame rates are higher. Hope that answers your question.
  21. No need...both of Austin's planes (livery wise) have been done. And here they are.... This is Austin's Cessna 400... and this is Austin's Columbia 400...
  22. Nik, Yes, there is a plugin. Is there anything specific you wanted to see? Jim
  23. Hi Guys, My name is Jim Gregory. I wanted to say Hi! and thank Cameron for the nice introduction. I feel privileged to be a part of the X-Aviation group of developers and look forward to releasing many exciting new products. As you can see my first release will be the Columbia 400/Corvalis TT. This is the fastest FAA-certified fixed-gear, single-engine piston aircraft in production today. The good new is that this will be released within the next 7-10 days. I hope you enjoy this aircraft. If you have any questions please ask, I will be here on X-Pilot often. Regards, Jim
  24. This has been fixed...please update to the latest beta (b10). Jim
  25. Good Choice! I learned and took my check ride in a 152. You will not regret the decision to start in a 152. As Dhruv said, with the 152 you will learn how to actually fly with "stick and rudder", as it should be. Good luck, Jim
