Hey, guys, One more thing to add on top of all of this... I realize that everyone seems to have really fantastic FPS in version 1.1, and as such it's really, really easy to keep the settings at a very high setting with little to no impact. That said, in real weather conditions this may actually be contributing to this problem even more for you! This length of this pause will also depend on how many cloud puffs need to be generated to fulfill the conditions specified. So, if you've cranked up your draw distance and detail settings, set "overcast" to the max quality, and an overcast layer pops in - that's an insane amount of puffs, and it will take awhile to place them and upload their vertices to the GPU. For those of you reporting very long pauses in real weather situations, what are your current settings? This is a trade off that you ultimately have control over. To some degree, you can think of this pause as the price you pay for it being so detailed and fast at runtime, and this is why during a sim session when clouds are loaded you have faster FPS than default clouds. We will continue to look at optimizing this, but in doing so, if we figure out a way, it may come at a cost of losing FPS as you fly.
