  1. Yes, sure you can feature it in your blog. Although I knew that the scenery was in development, thanks to your blog I found out that it was released ;D. By the way, the developers first name is not Frank - his nick FranknFly comes actually from Franken (=Franconia=Northern part of Bavaria) and of course Fly, and I can imagine that it is a wordplay like e.g. Frank-N-Furter. I didn't ask him though.
  2. A flight over the lately released fantastic and huge scenery of Nürnberg (Nuremberg) in Germany. Start is at the Nuremberg airport EDDN. Both sceneries are available in the DM at the org.
  3. I'm not quite sure what you're meaning: what is left to do? If yes: as already mentioned, half of the old town as well as some outer quarters, some textures have to be enhanced, some bugs - e.g. placement of buildings aligned with the OSM streets, overlapping buildings ... reason for the last is, that I'm using 2 tools, namely Overlay Editor and Scenery Builder. The first one places the objects directly onto the ground (WYSIWYG), the latter is based on Google Earth and generates only a dsf.txt file which has to be converted to a dsf (no WYSIWYG in regard of placing the objects into the X-Plane scenery). Without being too detailed, finally I have to merge the dsf's of both tools by hand at the end of the whole process and independent of whose "guilt" the overlapping objects are (OE or SB), I have to remove these buildings. Hope it was understandable , if not - simply have a tea or two (or more) and wait - it's finished when it's finished ;D.
  4. Thanks, Simon. But ... please do me favour and don't mention me in the same breath as Lebelge ;D. I'm still far away from what he has accomplished. But I hope to get there some day .
  5. This is the scenery I am currently working on. Fürth is very close to Nuremberg (EDDN), has around 115,000 inhabitants and extends from north to south about 11,5 km and from east to west about 9,5 km. I plan to have every house, apartment building, gas station, junk food restaurant, ... and almost every tree ;-). But ... there ist still a lot to do: about half of the old town is missing as well as some outer quarters, some textures are still unvaried, ... Nevertheless ... enjoy
  6. Tomorrow is again Monday, so I tried to escape this fact by flying the freeware Robin DR400-180 from XP France in gorgeous condtions at Martinique (lebelge's scenery).
  7. Seeing Indi's Mäkinen-Nürburgring video I remembered when I made 1 lap - in real life - on the awesome Nordschleife (I live "only" 450 km from there) back in 1996 with my own car, at this time a VW Golf with ludicrous 70 hp. It was big fun though. From this experience I must say, driving this track with a real race car must be ..... wooooooooooooow . BTW, the "speed" in my nick comes from the racing games I played and (real) karting races I did in the past ;D . Here just a few impressions from my first attempts in Richard Burns Rally some years ago - still with automatic shifting (boo) Simon, the Gran Turismo graphics are awesome, are you sure that's really the game and not reality?
  8. A quick video with - but not only - the new Riva motorboat from XPFR.
  9. Exploring the Malta freeware scenery from lebelge - in different ways ... but watch yourself.
  10. Oh fuc., I was desperately waitig for this one, and just made today a video with an older boat addon. Will be uploaded to http://www.youtube.com/user/uwespeed in a few hours.
  11. Just a "quick and dirty" first impression of the new Carenado Mooney M20J for X-Plane. Watch the dangling cord of the microphone and the key ring at 01:38. Scenery is the fantastic and free Corsica Scenery from lebelge.
  12. Well, actually the orthophotos in the vid are already "hires", but from around 1500 ft AGL they look squishy. If they were, say double as sharp, I would have needed to install not "only" 16 DVD's for whole Germany with orthophotos (x-scenery.de) but maybe 64 DVD's. By the way: in the vid I had the number of objects not "totally insane" but only "tons" or "mega tons", so in reality the scenery will be more dense.
  13. (Mods: please move this thread to the video section, I think it fits better to there. Thanks) Just another short preview of the scenery I'm currently building. It is the city of Fürth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F%C3%BCrth) in Germany, close to Nuremberg (EDDN). There is still a lot to do, so please be patient. The (hires) orthophotos are not included, due to copyright issues.
  14. I just booked my summer holiday (thus ... happy mood) and right afterwards seeing those shots ... even better mood, because I imagined I just have landed on my "holiday airport" and am driving towards the holiday resort ;D.
  15. This Building Maker looks really as a good idea for building scenery. But may I raise concerns? When you would use e.g. buildings you see in Google Earth which have been made with Sketchup and own photos of the creator, and you're asking the creator for permission, it seems to me not being problematic. With Building Maker, even when the building is built by a person like you and me - the textures most likely are copyrighted by the company which sold the material to Google. So I doubt that it would be really legal to use these buildings. You can hope on "no plaintiff, no judge".
