  1. that literally made me laugh loud enough my dad came in. Thank you. Chris, do you know how I could model the physics of this? Are there any codes for this (and if there are how do you use them I have no experience whatsoever in programming beyond "Hello World.exe" Can't wait to finish it. I still need a solution for the bottom one
  2. No problem... I'd rather do this. Yes, I'm having a bloody amazing time (that's not sarcasm)... this is literally the most fulfilling thing I've ever done (sad, isn't it? I'm a highschool student) Every time I start up X-Plane, all I can say is, whoa. dude. this looks good. Thank the USGS PHNL definitely is missing.
  3. New pictures from development stages: I won't be doing my normal runway textures for this, I'll leave them be, they're amazing enough. This one demonstrates the high resolution of the Orthophotos I'm using, showing runway signs on the taxiway.
  4. I'd like to ask the eyes of those with vaster knowledge of aviation than I what they think of the following items: What in heaven's name is this? And this? (Please don't say de-icing, this is Hawaii) Thanks ahead of time
  5. I'm talking a nasty prank, like a 300'x300' wall on one that ruins a 6 hour flight from Las Vegas.
  6. Like I said, I got a massive picture of my pal Fred in a kayak at the lake rather than satellite imagery of Honolulu. Thanks though, I'll keep it in mind
  7. I'd like to reply and rebut that review. Perhaps one of the most poorly modeled aircraft of X-Plane, I got to try this one out on a friend's computer. The exterior model doesn't matter much in the way of simulation, but it is extremely low quality. the cockpit is well built but the textures make it look like the "Virtual Cockpit" view from FS95 (yes, I have used FS95, it's what I fell in love with flight simulation because of). As I have never flown a real Il96, I can't say "It's unrealistic." Lets just say I can only assume that a quad-engine wide bodied jetliner wouldn't feel like a Cessna 150 (the only plane I've ever flown in real life) but apparently the Il96 does. Impressive for the Russians if it is so, I'd love to try my hand at it in real life. Yet again a Ramzzess or whatever he calls himself falls way below even freeware quality, much like his 787.
  8. Please remember that G2XPL is illegal and violates the terms of use of Google, Yahoo, Bing, IOS and pretty much all other map servers.
  9. I want to create scenery in a way people actually want it. So, instead of being stuck up in my own personal ways of doing things, which would you rather? Style 1 Style 2
  10. ISSUE RESOLVED Please don't laugh, this is serious stuff. Upon closer inspection of the scenery file, it seems that somehow one of the photos from my summer camping trip became married to a *.pol file. This photograph was 18 megapixels. I would truly love to know how this happened. Honestly, I'd love to.
  11. Alright folks, so my last scenery as you know was KBLI and it utilized four texture DDS tiles with a resolution of 4096. Now I'm making PHNL and the EXACT SAME TEXTURE SIZES AND SPECIFICATIONS don't work. Here is the log.txt exert from the moment that it crashed, and it has a peculiar litt line in it. If it were X-Plane 9 it would make perfect sense, but this is X-Plane 10. AND I've done scenery just like this before. AND I already tested one lone DDS tile to make sure they displayed properly in X-Plane 10. AND 5 together. AND I've done scenery in the past that had 100 orthophotos (but ended up violating some terms of use somewhere so it has long since been deleted) so I HIGHLY doubt that it has anything to do with the number of orthos I have (which totals around 19 at the moment). Any suggestions? ALL HELP WILL BE LOVED AND CHERISHED. EDIT: And I'm not cutting up 74 orthophotos into 296 just to make X-Plane happy, it might as well be X-Plane 9 then.
  12. Next Airport: PHNL

  13. NOICE!
  14. Trust me, I've now spent over 26 hours on the project and I've placed 7 orthos. It's not easy. I'm considering putting in a random intentional "crash your plane" wall on one of the runways that is infrequently used, that would be bloody hilarious.
  15. X-PLANE 9 trials. I remember those days.
  16. Thats a Canadian Goose I believe... Anyways, my contribution.
  17. Actually that is the first of 74 Orthophotos to be placed, and to get a picture capturing the quality of them I just fell straight out of the sky on top of it. I rarely misplace a scenery object, I can't start X-Plane 10 quick enough to afford that kind of testing. So far in 21 hours of work on this project I've tested it twice for 5 minutes.
  18. Congrats! Anyone interested in being a beta tester for this project please PM me ON X-PILOT. You should have the following (at minimum): 8GB RAM 1GB VRAM 2GB Hard Drive Space Mac OSX 10.6 or Windows 7 Professional A really freaking good processor. Like i7. Certainly not PANC. No offense to Alaska, but it's not all that interesting to fly to Anchorage from... well... anywhere... nor is it an exciting airport.
  19. Not so much "fly" as "plummet."
  20. Hey guys... lets just say I'm making the best and biggest airport I've ever tried, and so far I am succeeding massively. I'll leak one picture every few days, go ahead and guess where it is, I'll let you know if you're right. The Orthophotos are almost high enough resolution that I was considering not drawing in Taxilines. The airport's ICAO code begins with P, so unless you literally have NO clue what you're doing in the world of aviation, that means it's in the Hawaii-ish (too many i's) area. This airport has been done a few times before but I'm never impressed.
  21. Just... WOW... AMAZING. Download this scenery if you haven't already. Stunning.
  22. Could you by any chance create a "fresh prince" special livery for belair?
  23. As usual, absolutely blown away by the quality of your work.
  24. This whole topic is plane stupid.
  25. Finally got it down pat. Without HDR, Put Gamma to 1.6, do the location thing to save your specs etc... then reload X-Plane. Have fun, post results.
