HDR off at night there are no real lights, just plying with textures. HDR ON you are rendering real lights and those lights will illuminate objects around. test: sit your aircraft cold & dark below an appron light. HDR off you will see nothing. HDR on the light will illuminate your cockpit through the cockpit window. hdr off the streets will look dark. hdr on the streets will be illuminated by street lights as on the real life. The different is huge specially at night Modern paywares like the ixeg 737 requires HDR on for the full lighting to work and illuminate the cockpit properly when you turn on switches and dimm lighting knobs. Also: On hdr on you have engine heat blur, otherwise you don't How objects fade at a distance is different as well As the time goes most and most scenery and aircraft developers demand having hdr on for they creation to work properly. What HDR-ON does is that give to the lights...life! X-Plane's rendering engine computes how each light will affects it's surrounding objects and render those objects accordingly.

the imac will perform just fine under medium settings if you can live with: -very low in clouds -no watter reflections -not extended DSF -3d cockpit shadows maximum -no higher than default roads, objects, cars If you crank those settings up it dies below 20 fps. note: in your settings you have HDR disabled, this is boosting your FPS +10. But to fly any newer payware properly you must have HDR enabled, otherwise lighting is really poor among other issues. So the compromises above are considering you have HDR enabled on the imac. The MAC PRO is a no go. They do lot of multitasking and great for a lot of business apps and media, but are very low cpu freq, the imac will outperform a mac pro on xplane. There are comparison tests already.

I do own 2 imacs, late 27" 2013 full optional upgrades and a 27" 5k retina full upgrades as well (mem, cpu, gpu, ssd) I am tired of making way too much configuration compromises, i am actually selling on of my imacs to buy a strong pc dedicated to xplane. Imacs have mobile hardware version, they are very restricted on wattage, they have to fit in the case and they have to keep heat in control. They do not compare to their pc counterparts at all. Unless you do require the imac for another specific task, go and buy a strong pc it will double the imac performance easily for half the money.

gizmo soft crash: 1.0.7 attempt to index field 'dest_rwy'
mmerelles replied to dekela's topic in Bug Reports
As per your comments and log file, i think you are experiencing a known bug. You can not select an arrival runway without selecting also an instrument procedure! If i am correct, pease select also an instrument procedure for now until this get improved on upcoming updates.- 1 reply

In aviation pilots refer to them as -CBs- for Cumulus Nimbus from the meteorology, no pilot under it normal senses will enter there no matter being on a big jet. You round them. They have huge ascending/descending flows than can be thousand ft tall, lot of precipitation, icing, lot of turbulence. They are highly dangerous. http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/photo/cumulus-nimbus-cloud-mojave-desert-royalty-free-image/457995793 you can google images for cumulus nimbus too see more.

as per your log file you are running plugins that can manipulate the aircraft datarefs which will make it crash. If you have programmed: -lua script -xassign config -CustomSBDatarefs004 remove the scripts or better al those plugins for testing and i presume you will not experience more crashes. you can leave lua but remove any assignment script if you have put any. hope this helps
-
i presume you should contact support@x-aviation.com for this. They have stated licensing topics are not discussed over the forums. Please note it may take up to 3 days for response, do not keep re-sending the email or the system will put you back to the queue. hope this helps.

this is just fine Eddie, we have a very different perspective on this and we both made it clear. have a good night gmt-6 here. leaving to rest

I disagree here. You can not compare. Vatsim is for entertainment, yes you may be lucky time to time and find a professional real life controller for hobby or practicing, but vatsim target and spirit is a lot different. Also the procedural level of members difference is huge. pe was meant for people willing to learn by the book, professional atc service. While procedural level of people will vary (new entering people), they are all forced to learn and perform by the book. They threat you as if lives were in risk for your mistakes. As you have seen on the videos above (i hope) things happen as in pe. I would agree in the end, not everybody may be happy with the level of exigence/pressure PE imposes. It is a fair everyone calls to sign up or not.

as real as it gets

Pilotedge as real as it gets. The place were you also learn to deal rude busy controllers real life example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYROSTV_KVg
-
don't be that naive guys, on the real life: 1. tons of controllers are rude and have no patience at all. 2. you will find lot of shared frequencies as well at certain areas / time frames if you have not experienced that, you are not a real life pilot or you have not flown enough. Don't trust me? just google for it to see people notes or better watch it on youtube.

Your sound card hardware has slot limits if they are taken by other software the ixeg bird will have no resources to play with. Remove any JAR plugin for the purposed of testing i am quite sure you will experience full sounds. Those JAR plugins experience issues to a lot of aircraft besides theirs. These 2 below are the major ofenders and cuase lot of headache to lot of people other aircraft. Off course your sound hardware capabilities plays a role here! -Ground handling -Tug Master
-
yes, flying the approach glide like a rollecoster will make it go crazy as well
-
an example of radio altimeter limitations for monitoring approach.
-
You may experience this when overflown uneven ground on final surrounding the runway. Remember the aural callouts comes from a RADIO altimeter (not from the barometric altimeter), thus the eco bounce readings -aircraft radar antena to ground- will vary based on rough terrain. On modern jets you may also use barometric altimeter for callouts.

so cool, i need my pc rig immediately

I do understand what you say, but you have to account the following to be a bit more comprehensive on the implementation: 1. To guarantee different controllers per frequency you need a lot of staff, this means a lot of salaries $$, the network subscribers should be substantially bigger. Check the roster statistics do some maths and you will understand this. 2. The area is small in purpose, if you offer a substantially bigger geographical area you rarely will encounter queueing for takeoff, for landing, receiving instructions for avoiding traffic, having busy frequencies, etc, which is part of the key philosophy someone should learn and experience. Again the number of subscribers should be substantially bigger to operate a bigger area and get the whole purpose of the network done, but in the meantime they should maybe try to rotate the working area time to time. 3. Shared frequencies/controller staffing audio is a result of that, achieving busy audio for you to work for to get your channel space while the network grows to keep the business running. Still you need to dial real life frequencies or the controller will let you know the mistake. As you said you have a few shortcoming on the network implementation (#different staffing and restricted area of operation), this is consequence of the business that has to sustain to keep going. This is kind of difficult chicken/egg game, you need more subscribers to grow, subscribers demand worldwide coverage to enter. Having said that, Vatsim has no comparation to PE -in terms- of real life training and procedures, have you heard vatsim enthusiast performing on pe? my god! people that enters blank from scratch perform better and learn much faster.
-
once you try PE there is no looking back. be prepared to suffer, to get stressed, to study/learn a lot you have a 2 weeks entirely free trial you can fly as much as you like.
-
this has been raised several times already. It will be fixed on next major update.
-
due to the number of things that may engage thrust on the ground in the 737Classic accidentally, procedures for this bird establish the pilot must not engage A/T until entering the runway. Modern birds have a protection, but not the classic. Double check!
-
most common cause for this would be you engaged VNAV, OR SPEED, OR N1 on the ground. This is not a 737NG neither a modern 777. If you engage any mode on the ground and then you flip A/T to arm it will put thrust immediately!

nice! you are missing Chigago Meigs v2 it looks empty.
