Took my first flight with the Duchess now. A quick go at flight path down in Spain, at Muchamiel LEMU. Nice ride! And here's a quick video just to show you the landing. I got REALLY satisfied with that one!

Will you provide a paint kit? Would love to be able to make my own liveries, or let the super skilled guys make some kick ass liveries.

But these guys are a complete team, right?... -
I had a plug-in in MSFS9 where I could record a flight, and then play back in order to try and fly in formation with myself. I made a video using this plug-in too. Wonder if there's something similar for X-Plane, or if it's even possible to make for X-Plane. It would make it interesting to make spectacular videos!! Isn't it beautiful to fly along with another plane!?

What airport would you like to see next?

So far I'm only a one man show. So if they've spent 4 months, 16 smart heads and still haven't released something.. boy.. I'm gonna spend years on that thing. ;D Even though you wish for the airports you want to see, I will not promise I deliver it. Mostly because it's hard to find photos of it. Another factor is that "Birds eye view" in Bing or Google Maps is essential. I couldn't have done Alicante without it. It's such a key factor to seeing how things are and are related to each other in scale and where they connect. Seeing only an overview satellite photo helps for the general shape, but it's not worth much if I don't know how things look from a perspective. For instance, I'd go with Brumma before Arlanda. There's no birds eye view of Arlanda, but Brumma has that. And we have a guy here on the forums that can provide photos.. Let them come!! Same goes to Fort Worth, KSFO and so on.. -

Ironic. LightWave 3D, the tool I use, is developed by NewTek. -

I don't use SketchUp, so I can't answer you on that one. I model in real-world measurements. 1m in the modeling tool is 1m in X-Plane. By correct scaling I mean that the length and height are more or less correct, so I don't end up placing gates too close, or the buildings being too low - or large for that matter, and make sure the height of elements looks like the real deal. -

Wow, this thread has really blossomed If you can provide tons of photos for reference, I'll do Swedish airports before anything, despite the jokes. Same goes to Forth Worth. I won't start anything before I can get my hands on photos from the ground so I can somewhat determine the scale compared to people, cars and planes. Something I can more or less get an idea of the real world scale thus modeling using the information I gather about that. Shapes of terminals, roofs, gates and getting it in-sim is not a problem - texturing and getting the scale right is more problematic than anything. -
That one works as it should in Preview. Super!

Anyway. Congrats on the release. The news came to a shock in my inbox. Looking forward to enjoy every last pixel of it.

Interesting choices. I've been looking at KSFO earlier. It's not impossible. As for Gibraltar, can you provide a screenshot of how it looks in XP now? I don't have XP on my MacBook.. -
I have the same problem as woweezowee in Preview... Really pitty I will need to get another reader. If I may, I'd suggest you check your methods of saving the document to PDF.

I have two up my sleeve. I know, I know, it's been taking forever - but you know what? Making scenery for X-Plane is not my full time job. However, I'm interested in doing business, and on days where my regular job is slow, I could happily get going with further development to complete the two I have at the moment, and after release get going with a new one. Simply put, what airport would you like to see next? What country is most interesting? Maybe two airports on a particular route? Keep em coming, and we'll see what the future brings.

Too complex? I don't think so. It looks like a box, with another box, with another box and.. You get the idea. It's just like how I model my sceneries. Boxes everywhere, with modifications. The boxes vary in size, width, height, lenght - but it's still a box. If you look at an airport, you should be able to break it down into simple geometric shapes. Box, ball, cylinder. These are the three shapes I mainly break down a building with. Combination of these shapes may create new shapes never before seen, thus giving the idea of "this is an advanced structure". I'll see if I can get some time to show a practical example of what I mean, with the tower at Alicante. The supporting tower is basically three circles with a box or two to stitch them together, and then extruded to give it height. And then there's a hexagon for the tower itself.. OK.. I MADE some time.. [vimeo]13908306[/vimeo]

LightWave 10 is coming Q4, before that time you can grab a full version copy of the current version and get LightWave 10 for free when it's released, for $695. I know it's not free, but oh boy.. The modeler is just so incredible.. The reason it's taken so much time to model the Alicante scenery is because I've spent loads of hours just trimming minor details. I want to deliver a high quality scenery nobody's seen anything like before. If I can pull it off is another story. So far, I'm satisfied with the modeling. The biggest issue is textures. I'll probably get 3D Coat on top of this in order to manually handpaint everything thus making sure things are just perfect. Then again, I need to know how far I can push the poly count before it's bogging anyones system.

I don't know 'openscenery'. I think I've spent 12-15 hours, if not more, on the terminal alone for the Alicante scenery. I've been studying the very few reference photos I found and had myself closely to get the scale somewhat in the area of 'good enough'. The modeling is one thing - texturing is a totally different story. Did you get LWCAD? I highly recommend it for scenery development. It's like night and day. I can't model without it. Having the snapping tools around is just an absolute must. And all the other tools along with the plug-in.. My words come to short. You just gotta buy it. ;D

WED for layout. This is where you make apron, taxiway, runway, markings etc. It's also where you set what radio frequencies to use for tower and so on, and you can place the POV for the tower here. Overlay Editor is where you place your custom made or pre-made structures, such as the tower and hangars in your airport. If you don't know 3D modeling you can ask someone to do it for you, or you could use some standard items found in X-Plane. Or maybe someone has made a library with loads of models you can use?

Hey, I've been totally out of this X-plane stuff for a few months, and I probably will be for the next few months. Let's just put it this way: a few unfortunate events has pretty much killed my inspiration and glow, and I haven't even touched X-Plane more than once since May. I am however, doing considerably better than I did earlier. I'm moving from the old place out on the country, in to the city with my girlfriend. Here I'll build a new business, but still doing what I've done the past 3-5 years. Last thing I heard, X-Plane 10 will be released some time around christmas - and I'll put my sceneries on hold until then, and develop the scenery I do for XP10. All though, I will probably jump into the modeling seat every once in a while to expand the scenery so it will be ready for XP10 asap.

I had heard of this update, but I didn't find anything about it on the main website. It forced me into giving Google a go and I ended up here. I think you should announce the update on your website..

I use the Reality XP GPS. It's really good. And to my surprise, it automatically talks with the instruments in several 3rd party planes. Hurrah! This way I can make the whole trip from A to B through VORs, with ILS and God only knows what, and it will do all the dirty work for me.. I have the Reality XP 530.

Thank you! Yes, my goal is to have a public, payware release of it, and I'm thinking of bundling it together with Muchamiel, since they're both very close to each other.

Beechcraft Sundowner C23
OlaHaldor replied to Goran_M's topic in Beechcraft Sundowner C23 - Released!
Congratulations, all of you involved. Unfortunately, I have to wait with the purchase until I have moved to the new apartment, hopefully early in June. -
I bet he has the cash to get them all. I got sad seeing those dogs locked away and nobody wants them. :-\ And that's from a cat person! Congrats to the Meyers then.

Wow, this is an instant BUY... when I get the monthly little pennies on my VISA. 8)
