  1. kesomir, I was referring to Nova's post. I just tried that prop object now. Looks good, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna use it. I'll try with it for a while now. So, well. Let's talk video and bring this to another topic. Anyway - Nova - you're in for a treat whenever you make the choice and purchase this bird. It's beautiful.
  2. Here's an uncompressed image from X-Plane. I assure you, those textures are not blurry.
  3. Thanks, flyinhawaiian. I'm on a Windows computer. The specs are mentioned in my signature. I'm using Fraps to capture. Nova, I agree with you. It's looking kind of bad, because the rest of the plane is looking so good! However, it's not a deal-breaker. How often are you going to look from the outside? If the funny looking propellers is what makes you spend money on something else that's completely up to you - but you don't know what you're missing. With all due respect I'd say that's a rather weak reason imho.
  4. I might be stupid to assume this. I've got AirTrack on my iPad. I was thinking of getting the Saitek radio stack too, but after I experienced what AirTrack can do, I'm sold. I'm not gonna get anything like that for a long time. Do any of you, Philipp or Javier, use AirTrack? Will I be able to adjust altitude, heading, course, radios stacks, engange autopilot etc with it? I've flown a lot with the Dash 8 Q400 the past few days, and it works very well with AirTrack.
  5. My first trip from one airport to another, with waypoints programmed with the FMC in the AirTrack app for iPad. The flight was beautiful. I've never experienced anything like a long time. Want what I used in this video? - AirTrack plug-in / iPad app - Dash 8 Q400 - REXPlane (Clouds and atmosphere) - ENVA scenery (very outdated, but still better than nothing) It's available in HD, 720 and 1080.
  6. Video has been uploaded. Just waiting for it to process. Recorded, edited and published in 1080p.
  7. It's lovely!
  8. I just had the best experience in X-Plane in a long while. I went to an airport I know they fly the Q400, set up a flight plan using AirTrack on my iPad, set the altitude, the ILS frequency at the destination airport and armed the autopilot to fly by FMS and Vertical Speed of 1800. Lights on, flaps down, throttle up, brakes off - take-off and align to the preset direction and vertical speed. Engage autopilot. WOW.. just.. wow.. I actually never touched anything except making a few adjustments to the altitude for the descend and adjusting NAV source from FMS to ILS2. I'm very impressed. I've never had a flight like that in anything before. Honestly, I haven't started digging into all the start up procedures and such. I just wanted to get going, since I'm used to easy VFR planes. But this experience got me inspired to get into the whole procedure of switches and buttons. Except a short video some time soon...
  9. Finally made a nice landing with the Q400, after 10-15 tries one after another. Phew!..
  10. Granados, in the order confirmation I would expect to find a ticket to Spain from an airport of my choice (depending on your country and location) for a full weekend training at Javiers place. Seriously though: I have no idea.
  11. I'll let the copilot go.. attend the.. flight attendant.. I'll handle the plane.
  12. I wish there was some kind of pre-purchase... Just saying
  13. "Manual in sale now! Free aircraft for X-Plan with every purchase".
  14. Thanks a lot Goran. You're the best! Downloaded and safely put in my bookshelf on my iPad.
  15. I'm out of the cockpit for a few days due to the Easter holiday, but would like to read through the manual. I'm restricted to an iPad until I get home, so I can't download the plane files itself to get the manual. Goran? Do you have a direct link to the PDF?
  16. I purchased it last night, but won't be able to download until Sunday or Monday. Looking forward to learn how to fly this thing. I was shocked to see the plane was released without a big shout about it. It was a coincidence I scrolled by this section of the forum and saw this topic had some activity. Since I've been waiting for this one, I wanted to see if there was any progress.. Oh and one thing. Which liveries are included? Will you make new liveries? Is there a paint kit? I'm really hoping for Wideroe.
  17. I bought three new components just a few days ago. A motherboard, CPU and RAM. I chose to keep my GTX 275 from a couple of years back. It was a choice between those three components or a GTX 570 since they cost exactly the same here. After reading a bit, I'm happy with the choice. My graphics card can handle most games yet, and it seems the only thing holding performance back was the CPU. So my new system is this: Gigabyte PH67-UD3 B3 Intel i5 2500K (Sandy Bridge) Corsair 8GB DDR3 1333MHz The price for these components was mind blowing low for the performance. Just about $600 ! You will need a case, a hard drive or two, a graphics card and a power supply, but that shouldn't go over $1500 in total. You can reach far if you don't need state of the art graphics card in your rig. An older one like mine is sufficient even for GTA IV on maximum settings. Same thing for X-Pane!
  18. There's multiple reasons Apple aren't adding support for flash, and that's just the way it is. Let's leave the discussion at that. Flash isn't a "green technology". It eats CPU power like candy, thus needs more power either from the battery or the power supply in your computer. There are many JavaScript solutions that does exactly the same as that flash gallery.. So it should not be impossible to fix.
  19. Yes, pretty simply, I'd like to be able to browse the shop on an iPad or iPhone. I was looking at the C152, but would like to see a little more before I made a decision. Now I'm on a hold. So what's stopping me? The gallery is based on flash. I don't like it in general on pc or Mac, but when it totally excludes anyone with such devices, I think it's a bad decision. I recently observed that my own web site isn't iPad friendly, so I'm getting on the train and will work for all features to support the platform. Why should you spend time making it work on i-devices? Because it matters. They're not going away. At least not for a while.
  20. I don't have a screenshot today, but I just upgraded my system a little. I went from this setup EVGA nForce 780i Core 2 Quad 2.8GHz 8GB DDR2 RAM to Gigabyte PH67-UD3 i5 2500K 3.3GHz 8GB DDR3 RAM I kept the graphics card the same. It's a GeForce GTX 275 896MB RAM A GTX570 and the new mobo/CPU/RAM is about the same price, so I had to choose which path to go first. But then I realized I don't have a big enough power supply, so I chose the setup I installed today. On my old setup, I could get about 30fps on Honolulu Intl. with Realscenery and the Duchess in the 3D cockpit. Airport detail, texture quality, AA and Anistropic filtering is set to maximum. On the new setup I easily got 45-50fps with the exact same settings, plane and view. External views tops at 60fps (due to vertical sync). I'm super happy with that! Expect a video (featuring Hawaii and AirTrack on iPad!) in near future.
  21. And what do you pay for that, if I may ask? I have a 20/10mbit at home, and 80/60 at work. Even though if I had 100mbit download, I wouldn't survive with only 1mbit upload.
  22. I know it's been mentioned before, but no harm in mentioning it again. I got an iPad a few days ago, and I remember I've seen X-Plane EFIS. I thought about buying it, but then I came across a discussion about AirTrack. Not only is it cheaper, but it also looks more like the the thing I've never really understood and have been curious about. A nice FMC! I'm thrilled to have all those things just a touch of the finger away. It really made my flying experience much more realistic, and flying isn't just flying anymore. It's the planning too. I have loads to learn, and I'm having fun while I learn new things I didn't know yesterday. What struck me was that there was no videos of the iPad and AirTrack in action, so I'll try and make something useful someday. It would for sure help others in the decision I faced a couple of days ago.
  23. Made the spiral road up to the roof over again in better quality. Also done minor fixes.
  24. I'm still doing things on the Honolulu Intl. scenery every now and then. One step at a time, eh?
  25. I just downloaded and tried Cork EICK. I'm impressed by all the details there - but it runs in an alarming 12fps on my system when I flew the BK 117. My point is - I'd like my sceneries to fly well even on a mid-end computer like mine (compared to what's hot today..). Sadly, loads of geometry eats more performance than good textures. Noted, Karingka.
