  1. Lovely work, Goran. Just wondering why you put so much details inside the engine? Don't get me wrong, it looks killer.
  2. XP10 And anything that works with Air Track.
  3. It looks very, very good. Is this finished with UVs and all? Would be very interesting to see what you've discovered in regards of texturing this building. PS! Would be nice if you didn't upload big files. Takes forever to load.
  4. Even though it's loops made up in Character Studio, I think it's a big lift in "wow" effect whenever you park next to a gate, and there's some life and things going on. Heck.. Imagine, you could have luggage cars and busses with people trafficking the scene.
  5. I think I'll just buy my copy directly from Laminar like I did for XP9
  6. Best birthday gift ever!
  7. OH.. MY.. GOD! The announcement of THIS is the best birthday gift ever! Even better would be to have a copy delivered as a late present. :-D
  8. I got a joystick today. Haven't flown with one since about a year ago as I sold it. Let me say this. I like the subtle adjustments I can do in FSX much better than in X-Plane. X-Plane becomes so super sensitive in comparison, even when I've adjusted whatever I can adjust in XP. I guess I'm not alone about that one. The REALISM feel is better in XP, but the controls are on drugs and over sensitive. Too bad..
  9. Kaphias - save up. Buy it. It's really worth it if you wanna do scenery fast and precise. But you're not limited to that. I've earned a little by doing stills and animation on it too. But yeah, hours of experience counts a bit, but I feel nowhere near the goal of mastering everything I'd like to master. Such as textures..
  10. I can't download the plug-in as a standalone as far as I can see. It's all bundled in a single zip/rar file.
  11. It's part of the aircraft folder. I moved it, and it will let my load the plane, but I'm not really sure it's acting the way it should. I guess there's a reason for it to be there, right?
  12. Due to the PMDG 737NG boom on all FS forums I've been to, I figured "what the heck, I'll install it again". I haven't touched FSX since they released it.. was it fall 2006? Well.. I've been an X-Plane guy since 2008 or so. Can't say I miss MSFS at all. I must say - yes, the graphics do appeal to me. Even though they appear visually better or more detailed, I still think X-Plane looks more dynamic and "rounded" than FSX which looks kind of "square". I don't know how to give a better description. First thing that hit me - "OMFG there's this wannabe majestic music in the menu". The menu was in general slow and sluggish. And selecting planes didn't appeal to me at all. I'm too used to X-Plane. But I don't think that's a bad thing. In general, what hit me was that I wonder why so many use FSX. I didn't find it "real" or anything. It felt.. pre-calculated as if I was just sitting on a predefined path like a rollercoaster. I especially find it funny that a few cocky "I want it as real as possible" pilots swear to use MSFS only. They're like religious about it. And I'll leave them alone to worship the holy simulator. I'm far from being converted. The one thing that I really like is the general scenery. There's buildings all over. They might not be correct, but at least there's something. But that's it. Thank God I quit MSFS and went to the dark side (they were out of cookies though).
  13. Yep.
  14. I thought I'd go for bigger birds. And while I'm waiting for a quality addon with 3D cockpit, I'd give the best option I could find out there a go. x737 looks nice. Downloaded, installed, opened X-Plane, loaded the x737 plane. BANG! X-Plane crashed. So I moved all plug-ins out of the x-plane installation. Nope, still not working. I then moved all custom scenery.. No go! Anyone else have a clue what I could do? I'm on the latest, 9.70
  15. It's no problem making that within an hour. Depending on what tools you have available and how well you know them, it's fairly simple. I remade that one in 5 minutes. Adding more details like lamps, windows, roof etc takes some more time, but it's still gonna be less than an hour.
  16. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm by no means the best out there. Heck, I haven't even released a damn airport yet. Because I'm a perfectionist I guess.. I'm still fiddling with the airports I've started, but the lack of reference photos puts me on a hold. But what I've got so far kicks this product way down in the boots if you ask me.
  17. Some of you have seen some screenshots in another thread. But here goes the "official" one. I usually lack information or reference photos. Bing Maps have a nice birds eye view I'm using a lot. The height is not perfect, but it's at least "something", right? Since there's a super photo scenery for Oahu, I've taken the liberty to start making models for Honolulu Intl. based on the photo scenery. It's a start. Nothing has been textured yet. These buildings are rather generic yet. Some of them have got a little detail put on them to get an idea. So far the total scenery is about 15K polygons. I don't see any drop in FPS with or without the objects there. This is a WIP. I repeat. A WIP. My goal is to make detailed models, especially for the buildings you can taxi right up to, such as a lot of the structures at the GA ramp area. In the end it's a question whether people want detailed models or can live with models that aren't too detailed. Hopefully I'll be able to texture this in a fashionable manner. A parking house with stairs Opposite side of the airport in the GA and goods area, a hangar with stairs. Wide angle view of the airport and the structures I've made a mockup of. Opposite side.. Closer look at the terminal
  18. Have you seen my scenery threads?
  19. I find it interesting that you like the 3D modeling. The tower and the arcs are way more detailed than anything else. All I see is boxes. So, flat boxes are OK? There could be a lot more done to them, but you're OK with it? If so, I'll just scrap a few layers of details and simplify a lot more.
  20. Look at these images of the KLAX scenery, said to be "one of the most detailed airports in X-Plane". I have my own thoughts obviously, but what's yours? Let's just say that if that's the quality you want, I'll be done with Honolulu in no time.
  21. Thank you, Anders. I've just been informed that our missing person is now confirmed dead. She was only 17.. She was the cutest blonde teenager you could imagine. An angel. With sparkling eyes and a smile that would make you feel safe. I hope I can make it to the funeral even though it's a ten hour drive. We'll see. Money isn't growing on trees these days.
  22. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I just read that "Children as young as 7-8 years old were killed at #Utøya. They were doing work there, picking up empty bottles." I am empty. All my energy is gone. Sleeping seems like a cruel denial as if I'm offending anyone still missing their beloved ones.
  23. Just gonna give you an idea of this horrible event. The shooting took place at this (ironically) heart shaped island, filled with hundreds of kids from 16-25 years. Some write 500, others 750 kids. No matter what - it's a lot of them.. The island is about 500-700m from the shore of the mainland in the lake Tyrifjorden. Many young boys and girls, either healthy or shot jumped into the water and started swimming as they were shot at. Some made it, some didnt. .
  24. Even though I've been awfully quiet the past few months, I've been lurking around here, trying to fly a little whenever I had the chance. I've also gathered new information and reference photos for one of the airports. The bad news is that I, along with a lot of others in Norway, know someone personally or know someones brother, sister or sweetheart that's missing after the shooting at Utøya yesterday evening. It's devastating to us all. So far, 84 kids has been reported shot and killed. Over 40 critically wounded and brought to hospital for surgery. The entire nation is in shock. I'll be back, but I can't tell when. This needs to sink in and become 'real' in my head. It all feels like a thriller I saw last night on TV.
  25. Installed Lion on all my Macs. Works absolutely fantastic. Wish my Macbook would have a performance gain though. It became a bit slower.
