  1. Thanks I had the camera (or the lens actually) mounted on a tripod. I shot it with the Canon 70-200mm 2.8 IS L, so I had the stabilizer switched on. Worked like a charm.
  2. My sister, a friend and I participated in a short film contest this weekend. 60 hours from idea to finished film. Quite a task.. So we headed to the airport to shoot some planes landing. I shot two of them in 50fps to make it nice in slow motion, which was one of the unique ideas we had for the opening shots of the film. Too bad we were in such a hurry, and the sound didn't really work out. But here you go. enjoy. http://vimeo.com/31024849
  3. I was just emailed a link to this video by the developer. Looks very promising, and all tools - all of them - can produce UV maps automatically... ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fl456jszLh4
  4. Back on topic; Tom, how would you spread these workflows? A wiki? Video tutorial series? A PDF manual?
  5. Awesome! Been missing such a tool for the iPad since AirTrack doesn't work with the CRJ.
  6. Nice Kieran! Well, Simmo talked about the Sydney tower in Toms thread about XP10 in the scenery development forum. Got my fingers itching.. After about 40 minutes I've got this. That spiral is tricky, so just a mockup of it so far.
  7. Would be great fun in any case. Learning by doing. But good to see it's coming with the package! Oh btw I think I'm on another tower then. I just googled it. I have no idea if that's really the one Simon was talking about.
  8. I understand. Well, whatever needs to be modeled, I'd love to be part of it for Laminar. UVs and textures aren't among my strengths I'm afraid, even though I've been playing a lot with it. Simon got me going on the Sydney tower now.. damn you..
  9. Don't get me wrong Tom. I'll be happy to use Blender if there's a manual on how to do it the right way in order to get it done in the way you want it. But I'll use LightWave + LWCAD for modeling, and Blender strictly for whatever needs to be done after that. Sydney tower? Looks like a fun challenge.
  10. I'm interested. I'm a LightWave 3D user though, can't stand Blender. I know you can import LWO. Modeling, props, buildings and other structures is my strenght. Cars, planes, and other vehicles should be handed over to someone else.
  11. Correct. It's.. Well. Visually something completely different than both X-Plane and MSFS. Performance isn't 'there yet'. The general feeling of the helicopters is good, but not "sim" like X-Plane.
  12. Not X-Plane, nor is it a Microsoft product. But well worth showing I think.
  13. Great stuff!
  14. Hampster, if i may suggest a few things. Kaphias is spot on. You need to arrange things a bit more than "let's just get going because I can't wait". I'd also suggest there's a very own screenshot competition section in the forum. Here you will make a sticky for rules, last date of submission, theme or whatever. You will also make a thread for everyone to submit their images according to the category they wish to compete in. Only posts with images is accepted in this thread. Want to discuss things, there's a complete forum around you to do so. Posting images in a long thread with tons of discussion will make it very untidy. Example; Sticky thread with topic: Combetition #1 - deadline November 1st in here you tell them the rules, restricted geography, what planes are allowed etc Sticky thread with topic: Submit image for #1 Users will only post here if they wish to compete, and submit their image. Older competitions and submitted images will remain as closed threads. Not as sticky threads. This will make it easier for everyone to find the relevant thread and competitors.
  15. Very nice, guys. Hope it works with AirTrack on iPad
  16. Wish XP10 would have graphics like this.. Took this at Trondheim lufthavn Værnes (ENVA) last night.
  17. Rendersettings ?
  18. May I ask for your specs, render settings and what plane you're flying to get that kind of performance ?
  19. If I on top of this try to use the CRJ, it's pretty much not possible to fly. FPS is too low to put it down on the ground safely.
  20. Yeah, well. It's OK. I mean, I'm not a fan of static airplanes all over the place. The textures are OK. A bit lowres to my liking. What's killing my performance is that I have to populate autogen in order to actually see the buildings. This means buildings all over the place, which in turn means the CPU has more to think about and I end up on around 25-30fps on my i5 2500K 8GB RAM GTX560ti rig. As a scenery developer I bought it to poke around and check the textures and UV maps.
  21. Nullzone has nothing to do with sensitivity. The plane will still act as on drugs when I get out of the nullzone. ksgy, I've done that. I've found what gives me the best feel at the moment, but it's still too sensitive. Lukasz, a very cheap one. But beat this - it's by far the "cleanest" I've had when I see the nullzone box. There's simply no "noise" in the movement. It's a Speedlink Black Widow. Yup, I chose it by design. I don't want a joystick that looks like a transformed robot alien species just came from the movie "District 9" and made itself a joystick on my table, like all other joysticks. On the plus side, it feels good too. I don't think it's the joystick. It must be the sim. I used to have a Saitek yoke last year, and it was very sensitive too, which was part of the reason I sold it.
  22. I've done whatever I can in the joystick settings in the sim. Is there something else I can do? Hack a config file perhaps? The sensitivity is awful. I push or pull the joystick only a few degrees, and the yoke in any plane will more or less go all the way. Same with banking. As I pull the joystick left or right, it won't get far until the ailerons are going nuts and the plane starts turning very quick. If I reset the joystick settings to the default it gets even worse. So what can I do? Do everyone actually fly with yokes and joysticks? I've been fond of flying with a mouse the past year after I sold my Saitek yoke, and now I know why I did.
  23. Re-downloading the plane does not help. Thinking about doing a clean re-install of it all. It's about time I guess.
  24. Any restrictions in use of aircraft ?
