Flew it for 2 hours in Windows 10. Everything went well. I also received the virus message after downloading the setup. Very nice update much appreciated.
-
I am eager to fire it up and experience the new ground handling tweak for t/o and landing. Many thanks again for continuously tweaking the TBM. Thanks for listening to your customers. We can finally put these types of posts to rest

I own it and I confirm that it still does not include all of Greenland. When crossing west to east there is still missing mesh scenery.
-
I agree, it is a real shame. I also could not find anyone who created mesh for all of Greenland. We should ask Laminar

Nice one!

What an epic trip!

Thank you for all the updates. I will thoroughly test 1.14b and see there is still a conflict with terramax. So far by selecting Deep Winter as opposed to Auto I have not had any issues while on th ground with engines off. I will report back later this week and do a flight test by selecting auto. Cheers!

Just some information from Jason Miller (beta tester & RW TBM 900 pilot) regarding the real TBM rudder trim setting vs the HotStart TBM trim setting. Hope this helps.
-
This will help put this topic to rest. The Sim does not correctly simulate the proper rudder trim requirement, but that is seriously not a big deal as long as everyone knows where they should set it to avoid swerving left and right.

anyone test the new 1.1.3 release on 11.26?
-
-
Yes you can. I zip not only the aircraft but also the Output folder/TBM 900 before each install (just in case!) Personally I am not moving to 11.30 until a stable version is released and that all my addons fully function without bugs!
-
Thanks for the Heads up! I am also waiting for XP 11.30 stable version so I too am on 11.26. “Always backup your HotStart installation in the Aircraft/X-Aviation folder.before installing a new version”

Great additional feedback. I was not aware that AS was already released!

I started a thread in the General Section The HoStart TBM 900 Takeoff Challenge! I made a video of six takeoff's and I encourage others to do the same.

Hello folks, I am passionate about this airplane and all the work involved to make this beauty available for X-Plane 11. So first, let me say I am deeply appreciative. Many people are struggling with taking off in this bird and I wish to point out the conflicting information about how the rudder trim should be set vs how I had to set it to get a straight takeoff with my old Saitek AV8R-01 twist rudder joystick! In my video below I have links to both Jason's video (real TBM Pilot and beta tester for this bird), and a link to a pilot taking off in the real bird, and the TBM instructional video. As far as I understand, the normal rudder trim position should be on or very close to the green indicator! That real world setting does not work for me. I have to set it slightly to the right of neutral. Watch my take-off attempts and I encourage you to post yours. In the video I forgot to show my Control Sensitivity settings and I am on XP11.26 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hzY14ExzRQ

I am not disputing anyone Cameron. I am just going by the TBM manual and instructional videos. With all forces in play even a Single Engine piston requires right rudder trim. I can only take off straight with little or no rudder trim in the HotStart TBM 900. I love the plane but it still needs some work since no rudder trim in zero wind to take off straight makes absolutely no sense! I will ask him about it on his video stay tuned!

@Goran_M Hello Goran. Look at Jason's rudder setting on take/off in the HotStart TBM at 25:22 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zExCWZWKe-I&t=446s . His rudder trim is centered which would probably send him careening off the runway in his real TBM! They are not set as they are supposed to according to the TBM Instructional video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8sc3VlZPUc at 5:21. The rudder should be set in the green! In the HotStart TBM I also have to set the rudder trim just a little right off the the center to have any chance in taking off straight! Some folks put it half way between the white and green indicator. That does not work for me and forget about setting it on the green indicator (as it should). I love this bird but something is still off about it’s ground handling on t/o. I took the time to make a very detailed video of 6 takeoffs in zero wind. I use a Saitek Aviator Joystick with rudder twist which is not ideal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hzY14ExzRQ Cheers

Ok here is where I draw the line and do not accept these types of comments. I am also a RW Pilot! Look at Jason's rudder setting on take/off in the HotStart TBM at 25:22 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zExCWZWKe-I&t=446s . His rudder trim is centered which would probably send him careening of the runway in his real TBM! So I am sorry to report but mistratulipe has a point! The TBM still needs some tweaking! I am making a full fledge video of me taking off with different rudder settings which I will post back hear once completed.

Any resources/tutorials to master the autopilot GFC-700 ?

Good to hear that you are taking full advantage of the avionics. I like to use the VNV function for non precision approaches with step descents. The traditional way would be to convert the % gradient to fpm and setting the VS. Either way I agree, it is a pleasure to fly! When I trained to obtain my M.E. Instrument rating, it was with a Piper Aztec E, no auto pilot, just steam gauges VOR, DME, NDB, and charts on my kneeboard. Single Pilot IFR was quite a handful without any emergencies! https://www.airliners.net/photo/CESPA/Piper-PA-23-250-Aztec-E/73873/L
