  1. Everybody is making good points here. Whether you work in secret or in the open, people are going to ask questions though. You have to deal with that as a developer and as a customer. It's inevitable!
  2. We certainly appreciate your hard work. When a product takes longer than expected, I don't think people are mad at you, but more so the inconvenient circumstances that cause a "delay" (also in which nobody has any control over). We are pretty well aware of the work you put into this stuff. I wish all dev's could make stuff this good.
  3. To clear up confusion, the RC1 announcement was made on April 7, so there are still five more days until it's considered "delayed" again.
  4. I think the solution to this problem is going to take both developers and consumers. Developers need to find a better way to give release information out (that's a hard one as stated above by Goran). You can't expect customers to not get irritated when they constantly hear the same thing over a period of many months. Consumers need to relax on products a little, and understand that delays are not on purpose.
  5. Thanks for releasing the test pack guys! This plane is going to be a blast when it comes out!
  6. Yes, otherwise we wouldn't have created this testing process at all. Old Macs with ATI GPUs seem to be problematic. @samen: I'm absolutely stunned. I'd have bet my bottom dollar the Intel graphics would also choke up on this. Glad to see they are not that crappy in the end. @Perry: Unfortunately, creating a demo is not that easy. Because it is not so easy to hide the "10 minutes" mechanism deep enough in the code, so that The Dark Side can't factor it out easily. Which would be unfair to all our paying customers. So yes, creating a demo would take quite a lot of time now. Great to see these good results coming up here! Cheers, Philipp EDIT: Julio, that looks strange... Texture mapping error. Could you please tell me your OS and X-Plane version, plus your graphics vendor and model, and the driver version? Cool. Thanks Phillip. I look forward to getting this masterpeice.
  7. I'd give anything for a helicopter to land on the street by my house.
  8. Yeah, well if a demo added two weeks extra until release, I would agree with you. If it was easy to put together, then I would recommend that they do it. If not, I will take my chances. This is going to be the best for X-Plane. Hopefully Philip's multi-core-friendly plugin will pay off for my dual core.
  9. It happened very early on a Sunday morning, so the guy who took the video got woken early by a very loud (and close) helicopter outside his window. That would be an exciting awakening for me!
  10. Have you guys thought about releasing a demo of the plane where the plugin sets a 10 minute time limit? Although this test gives info on compatibility, there's no actual way of knowing about the performance. A demo would give us a 100% accurate answer on what performance we would be getting with on the CRJ with no doubts.
  11. With my texture resolution on very high, I was getting 55-70 FPS around LESA. I feel pretty good about it. Should be able to get about 25 FPS.
  12. Thanks Florian. Fixed it!
  13. I was fooling around on YouTube and found some pretty awesome videos of the U-2 Dragon Lady...
  14. I'm not sure where anyone asked about a release date. Some people, including me, were guessing, but I don't think nobody is giving the dev's crap. The posts made today were just for talk and weren't directed toward Cameron or Javier or anyone else that was involved in the project. We're all aware that it will come out when it comes out, and are simply trying to occupy ourselves. As for my FPS question, I want to get the best idea of how it will perform. It would suck if I read all of the manuals and studied hard, just to figure out that it won't run well anyway. I'm pretty confident about my system, but I'm a little paranoid because this is the plane I've been waiting for ever since I discovered it. Thanks for the input, and yes, it is getting boring talking about the same stuff. And also, thanks for the opportunity to make a "That's what she said..." joke. ;D
  15. Don't think you can compare the two: completely different internal systems. But isn't it mostly the obj's that affect the frames? If you load the plane without any plugin you will have the same frames as my seamax or Mentor. Even with more objects inside. So 50-60 frames. The plugin is what is taking the frames, so that is why Philipp made the multicore function. More cores, more fps. With a dual core, considering that a Mac will get extra FPS, how many frames would you expect me to loose if I'm getting 60 FPS on the Mentor now as it is? I know you can't give me an exact, but I just want to know if it will be detrimental.
  16. Yeah. I just hope it doesn't come out at the beginning of next week. This weekend is the ideal time for me to fly, but if it's not done, then it's not done...
  17. KDFW-KSFO And probably around Salamanca a lot. Love the scenery..
  18. Yeah, you just have to deal with it. In X-Plane, "VERY close" could mean "two months!" I've found it easier to try and forget it. If you come and look at the screenshots and videos, it just makes the wait more unbearable. Back last summer, I decided not to look at the CRJ thread. Good thing, because I would have driven myself crazy. With release being supposedly very close, that is almost impossible to do now... Everybody is trying their best though, so it'll happen!
  19. Your health worries me, Goran. Don't kill yourself ;D
  20. Wow, seriously! I've had a dream about it coming out before. Boy was I upset when I woke up! ;D And I doubt the 1st of May is going to dictate the release. It all depends on what needs to be done and how long that will take. We are approaching the one month mark pretty soon, so who knows though... Keep hoping...
  21. Great Goran, thanks for the screenshots of the EFIS display! I'm even more excited now...
  22. > Sadly, that is the truth. ;D
  23. At least you live near a beach.
  24. Deployment is a major pain in the ***. We could just give you a truckload of files and a long list in which folders you should put them, but I assume you would kill us for this... But you may rest assured that we all three work through sleepless nights getting this all nicely wrapped up. Philipp I've had to sort files in the past, and it was a little frustrating. If you misplace one thing, stuff doesn't work. And I'm sure the CRJ has more folders than I first expected. Anyway, I do appreciate your hard work in making delivery easier for the customer. Perry
  25. Not necessarily. It means we need to work out a few small things and if they get fixed today, then so be it, but if they take a little longer...so be it too. Oh the joys of custom programming. So I'm assuming the installers are close? Those seem to be the time consumer.
