  1. So why did the software developer decide to do it that way?? Most other add on software packages allow you to save the screen postion. It seems a bit short sighted to me. THere is nothing in the G500 manual about needing extra hardware to make certain features work. I would say that was a bit missleading. Very dissapointing.
  2. I have 3 screens, for X-Plane one above and then two set out side by side below. I put scenery on the top screen, G500 on the lower Left screen and GNS530 on the lower right screen. I set up the G500 to be a pop up window occupying the whole of the left lower screen. I have used the Right mouse button in the top Right hand side of the G500 display where it shows two interlinked squares in the belief that this would cause the software to remember the display position of the G500. On closing down X-Plane and restarting again the G500 pops up half way across the lower right hand screen with more than half of the G500 off the right hand side of the lower right display. How do i get the G500 to return to the Left hand screen other than right hand mouse on the two interlinked squares?? I can drag the G500 across the displays which then works fine for that session of X-plane, but again on shut down and restart next time the G500 is back half off the right hand screen. What information can I send you to help track down what is going on?? BR Pete D.
  3. Well its so easy when you know how. That fixed it. Thank you so very much for your help. Happy New Year........... BR PD.
  4. So, I installed the G500 suite on a test computer just to farmiliarise myself with the set up. All works well. So this week I installed the G500 on the computer I wanted to use it on, it went through the same routine and seemed to complete correctly, it said it had installed the G500 to the default C172 and the BN islander. I then added the Beech Baron to the G500 mix using the "G500-windows-x64-installer.exe" program again it seeme to work. But when I run X-Plane there is no G500 plug-in and checking the file structure there is no G500 plug-in anywhere neither in the Default C172. Having got it to work once I am not sure what I am doing wrong. The Gizmo64 plug-in is present and sais I have a valid licence. Under each of the individual aircraft I was expecting to see the G500 plug-in but there is nothing there. On this simulator build all the cockpit buttons and switches are input to X-Plane through 6 off Leo Bodnar switch interfaces, also clockwork standby instruments are driven by several PJRC Teesny drive boards, so there is masses of I/O going on in the simulator. At this remote distance have you any clue as to what I might be doing wrong?? What files might I send you to give more information?? BR PD. Log.txt
  5. Great, Thanks for the info. I'll try again. Last time I tried it did not ask which computer I wanted to dectivate. But the install did not work either....... Happy New Year.
  6. Sorry, Another question on the G500 software suite. I need to move the licence from one computer to another now, how can I do that??? A very happy Christmas to you all..... BR PD.
  7. Thanks for the documentation. Really appreciate that. will try a phone hot-spot idea. If the data to verify licencing is not too much (which I guess it isn't) then as you suggest a hot spot on a mobile should work just fine. I am really hoping that others seeing this software in the trailer sim will end up wanting to buy it for their own system too, so I see it a bit as a a demonstrator for you as well as promoting aviation to potential career pilots. We have two tailer SIms, one is a PA34 with G500 / G600, the other is a Piper Tomahawk with clockwork Frasca simulated instrumentation. https://www.joystickclub.co.uk/seneca BR PD.
  8. Hi Cameron, The Non interconnected simulator resides in a trailer that we move round the country. We are a charity trying to promote aviation as a career to youngsters. So as well as the trailer we have a collection of pedal planes for younger pilots to use at various venues such as RAF open days. We don't make any money from this, but just promote aviation as a potential career. Can we by a licence that is checked one a year if we pay a bit more?? We don't need the RealSimGear G500 as we have our own which works well, but having the ability to retain settings would be good. I see during shut down you deliberately delete screen setting, this is a shame. Other add-ons such as Reality XP GNS530 don't do this. BR PD.
  9. Hi Update v1.0.2 works great, two questions. I want to use the G500 on a simulator that is not connected to the internet. How do I get round the issue of the software asking for licence updates every 15 days?? Once set up (with its own screen) is it possible to save the screen position and size so after closing down X-Plane they are automatically restored next time X-Plane is started?? BR Pete D.
  10. Here is X-plane's log.txt file showing the crash associated with the G500. BR Pete D. Log.txt
  11. Hi, Enthusiastically bought the G500 instrument as it is something I have wanted to play with for ages. But I have a host of questions: 1) After installing the software, when I clicked on Finish, the computer crashed to blue screen!! I made the assumption that actually it had been installed so carried onto X-Plane. But I tried opening the C172 with G500 and X-Plane just crashes. 2) Putting that to one side for a minute. What I want to achieve is to add the G500 to Carenado's PA34 Seneca. I can't find any instructions on how to add the instrument to other aircraft. Where should I look?? As you say "coming shortly" I want to use my own hardware bezel with this instrument so when will it be possible to display the instrument without the surrounding bezel?? Hopefully very soon. Again I could not find any instructions on how to do this. 3) Finally with my own hardware bezel I want to use the buttons on my hardware bezel to activate the display functions for the G500, I am using a Leo Bodnar interface board to get the button presses into X-Plane. Will this software allow me to associate button presses with display functions?? I went ahead and bought the package in the hope that this would all be explained within the contained documentation. But documentation seems to be very light if non existent for this product when it comes to installing and configuring the software. I see most of the files have references to Apple, Presumably this product will work on a Windows 10 machine running X-Plane 11?? Any help would really be appreciated. Peter D.
