  1. After flying this plane for a few days there is absolutely no reason to wait if you want it and can afford it. What an amazing plane! Once you get immersed in a flight.. all the 'negatives' that the next patch intend to polish just vanish.. At least for me they arent an issue. Besides all the fully simulated systems, awesome modeling, 3D sound.. there is still something special about this plane I cant figure out. I really like flying other planes too (FJsim planes, J Rollon stuff, Carenado fleet).. but the SAAB has sooomething else I cant quite describe yet. Its like when you walk into a well built/decorated home or space where all the details are paid attention to, its extra comfortable and satisfying. For flying VOR in Xplane it is a dream.. Do real airlines that fly 340As still navigate that way? Yes.. this plane is ART.
  2. Lol @ me climbing for 30 mins to 10 000...
  3. Ahh ok, thanks for the clarification That makes much more sense. It climbs beautiful when I advance the throttles and keep everything within the limits. This part of the manual confused me: Please Note: When turning off the CTOT, DO NOT increase power to maintain your climb. This is now your CLIMB power.
  4. I understand this.. so when I disengage CTOT after takeoff.. my torque goes back to down to where it was when CTOT took over, at about 65. The manual says not to advance the throttles from this position but its climbing very slowly. Maybe Im not doing the climb settings properly? Start with 180 H.. then 160 M?
  5. Hey uhh I was hoping I could get some help with climbing in this wonderful aircraft.. Everything is good on Takeoff, CTOT engages.. but I dont understand what throttle % I should use for climbing. The Flight Tutorial manual says not to advance the throttles after turning the CTOT off. So my torque goes down to about 65 as it should.. engage AP and climb mode then do the climb checklist. Heres where Im having trouble... it seems to be climbing verrrry slowly. Max 500fpm... I could hardly get to 10 000? I didnt touch the throttles after the CTOT took over.. and my condition levers are left at MAX. Do my throttles really need to be so low for the climb? Please tell me where I have gone wrong lol.
  6. Yea I like gushing about my favorite addons too.. I know the developers appreciate the positive comments. Nice vid again.. haha I like the photo you added to the cockpit, very cute. This is the first plane I go through the whole checklist aloud to myself and say 'Check' after each step lol.
  7. Cool I always like Mexican liveries C:
  8. Nice vids man! Just bought the SAAB myself and am loving it. Also SMP is unbelievably impressive! Wondering what sky colours you prefer in SMP?
  9. I agree! What a great feature... It really helps to learn the plane. All the menu items are fantastic.
  10. I just bought the SAAB myself, you should be able to handle it if I can. Definitely a FPS hit though.. I get 30 FPS only in areas with no buildings with my normal settings (I use OSM and HD mesh normally) The new update should fix that I hope. Anyways Ive been having fun with it so far.. normally I dont like starting planes from cold and dark.. but this plane, EVERY switch works. So it feels more authentic... its not too complicated to start but there a few things to switch on before you fly. I feel like I will be spending a lot of time in this plane because of its depth.. plus it looks and feels really cool to fly!
  11. It was pretty smooth, actually touch down nearly at the end of threshold... but yea the inches clearance from the fence makes me feel less than comfortable. This airport is a tough landing! S.Harris does it well.. haha Ive watched the video so many times! Really cool.. My approach is ? than some professionals?! Those pictures are ridiculous... ppl ducking from the C208 lol. 727 is the toughest plane I have to land at Juliana so far. 747.. whooooa Edit: Mr. S.Harris are these hand flown or using ILS?
  12. Ive been practicing Juliana landings.. inspired by this vid. Whats your technique? I always nearly miss the fence but you seem to have a lot of clearance. (I have the same scenery)
  13. ChrisK whooooa whaaaat Squeeking into Juliana.. Pretty departure
  14. Cool, thanks!
