  1. I have almost the same system , my CPU is a 4690K . The only time I've noticed a frame rate drop to the mid 30s is flying at low altitude over detailed scenery. I pan a lot inside the cockpit but fps stays stable. In other situations where big fps drops have been noticed deleting the contents of the x-plane preferences folder has improved things sometimes. https://www.x-plane.com/kb/deleting-preferences/ But take care;- I wouldn't delete them as the article suggests , rename them instead , so you can reinstitute them if a new preferences folder doesn't solve your problem . Creating an entirely new preferences folder means you will lose things like joystick settings so back them up by renaming .them. Copy the renamed files to your desktop before deleting the preferences folder there is also a youtube video showing how to do it. For more information google brings up many results if you search X-plane & preferences folder . Worth reading some of the search results if not familiar with manipulating x-plane files
  2. I've really only noticed the contrast problem , because I'm flying with keyboard and mouse only , no other aids . In the beginning this was to avoid problems with plugins and so forth. Now that the TBM / X-Plane platform is becoming more stable , it'll be more like business as usual -> panel switches , Simvim, trim wheels ,etc . The coloration problem will be much less noticeable , at least for this desktop driver. That flap lever tho' is mighty difficult to see from the seated position without sunshine in the cabin
  3. CPU: 4690K Freq : 4.2Hz Ram : 32G GPU : 980Ti OS : Windows 7 Res: 3840 x2160 XP: 11.26 Graphics : as specified in 1st post TBM 1.0.9 TBM: 85 fps Cessna: 98fps Scenery was as specified but only runway shows in the midst of water , I only load scenery for my region. I can repeat with full scenery tile if needed. PS : Subsequent to the benchmark test , flying around YSSY (Kingsford Smith, Sydney) the lowest fps is about 35 , same computer & graphic settings, same fresh vanilla 11.26 XP. Perfectly acceptable for a 4 year old rig .
  4. CDNCAVOK , so if not a joystick or keybinding , is there a way of implementing the " h " throttle system that avoids the use of a mouse ?
  5. I experience the same challenge as CDNCAVOK . Black on black is very difficult to see and I have problems with the controls on pedestal too like throttle , flap position , On my screen they sort of blend into a single amorphous unit . This is the way Socata does it in real life but It is surprising Socata doesn't implement color coding for ergonomic reasons . Maybe 3D in real life makes it unecessary whereas a flat screen lessens the distinction between uneven surfaces if they are the same color.
  6. Just about to give up on the tutorial , nothing but an engine flooding after handover from the instructor. 1) I've deleted everything TBM related fom the XPlane folder 2) Reinstalled the TBM 3) Custom Scenery is now vanilla XP 4) Unhooked CH products throttle quadrant 5) Haven't unhooked CH joystick yet but will at the next round of troubleshooting. 5.5) the AUXBP is now off at handover. 6) if I let the tutorial run a) the narration doesn't pause waiting for me to implement the starting sequence b) the MFD doesn't switch on but paradoxically I can continue the start up blindly , as if there is nothing wrong . but I have no idea what the ITT or NG is doing given the MFD is off. Latest log.txt: Log.txt
  7. I'm going to append the latest log.txt to see if anything can be found to sort this flooded engine business. At the moment the instructor hands the plane over to me and declares that he is resetting the plane the error message appears about the presence of fuel residue but the plane is not fully restored to cold and dark . The ESI for example stays switched on AND more importantly ,the AUXBP switch is already in the on position instead of being in the off postion .. When the instructor does the startup the AUXBP is off before engine startup sequence starts. Question is then, at the point the instructor resets ,1) what is meant to be on , 2)what is meant to be off without me having touched any of the controls ? Just as a matter of interest I've spent upwards of $500K in the maintenance tab as part of the troubleshooting exercise. Log.txt
  8. I've appended the log.txt in case I missed something Log.txt
  9. When the instructor has finished his demonstration of the engine startup procedure and resets the aircraft so I can then start the engine , an error message appears on the top left of the screen announcing the engine is flooded . It appears immediately after the.reset , I haven't turned any switches on or off , moved the throttle, etc. I've run the tutorial several times ,, happens every time . There is nothing in the log.txt to explain this , maintenance tab shows only flooded engine. There is a procedure for clearing the flood in the motoring section of the POH , but is there a reason for the flooding ocurring during the tutorial?
  10. Wow , well that is a crucial, essential bit of information . Thanks for highlighting it. Completely changes my plugin troubleshooting protocol.
  11. Seamaster , apologies if you already know this : I would disable plugins by accessing the plugins via the toolbar . At the toolbar , plugins > enable/diable once Xplane is fired up rather than manipulating the resources or plugin folders if that makes sense.
  12. Iandiss, the vast majority of your very long log.txt script is made up this; 2018-10-24 20:50:23 TBM900[sensors.c:318]: X-Plane state seems to contain a NaN value: dr_getf(dr); falling back to value 0.000000 Don't know if this is significant. but in common with two other systems described on these forums not working at their best , you also have the Terrain Radar utility loading from your plugins folder.
  13. Seamaster , you could try disabling the Terrain Radar utility . I just had a quick look at the aircraft supported by this utility over at the .org and the TBM , for now , isn't one of them . Does Airport Navigator display its results on MFD ? If so might be worth a disable trial. The devs have recommended switching off as many plugins as possible if you run into problems. In your case you have quite a few . You can disable one by one . Or: My approach would be to rename your Resources file to something like MyResourcesfile Create a new Resources file in the main Xplane folder. Run xplane installer and let it create a brand new vanilla Resources folder . Reinstall TBM 900 Restart XP That way you have your working Resources folder preserved and easily reinstalled by renaming it Resources .
  14. Most troubleshooting for this kind of problem starts with a posting of log.txt file.
  15. 2Fat2Fly , I'm not an expert by any means . I've had a very quick look at your log.txt . My observations which may or may not mean anything . You have a fair few plugins and the Terrain Radar Utility isn't always behaving , have a look at .txt the file to see what I mean about 1/ 3 and again 2/3 of the way down. Not every error message ,or failure to load ,causes problems but if you want to try before the devs find a solution for you I would disable all plugins unrelated to the TBM via the plugin menu as a starting point and see how it goes.
  16. Prattpt6 , that's a mighty fine screenshot.
  17. Thanks also Goran . Very useful info.
  18. Thanks NeoPyro ,very good info there. Aside from reflections and a bit of AA , those are very respectable settings.
  19. Understood. Just to pin you down a bit more precisely Goran : if I can run the Laminar Cessna 172 or Baron B58 at a low detail airport (one provided by Laminar's installation ) and this runs consistently at around 60 fps , one can reasonably expect the TBM to run >30 fps ? If you are able to share your system specs that might give me some perspective.
  20. In order to aid the developers ( and all who might be able to help ) its standard procedure to attach the log.txt file and gizmo.txt file to posts asking for help solve problems. The log.txt file among others is in the main X-Plane folder. Copy it as a file then attach to your post Don't copy the text and paste it in your post or it'll make the post physically long. Its worth opening the text file and reading it for oneself. Some of it is jargon , but a lot of it is easily understood and offers immediate problem solving solutions.
  21. Couldn't agree more. I' ve been running X-plane for more than 20 years and I've never seen anything like the kind of support we are witnessing for the TBM900 . Its what 5 / 6 days since release ? In that time CTDs, frame rates , have all been analysed and solutions offered .At all hours of the day and night. Amazing. Kudos to all involved.
  22. If the TBM doesn't run on my current 4 year old system at a reasonable speed , would I be able to transfer the licence to a completely new system, purpose built ,for the TBM ?
  23. Can I put the question in a different way ? If, say , you ran a completely clean version of Xplane 11.25 , no added scenery , no plugins , no modifications of any kind , no VR , what would you estimate is the required cpu &gpu to run the TBM with visual settings in the mid range to run at >30fps . In other words the Q . is not : this is my hardware will it run ? The Q. this is my software , this is how I'd like it to run , what's required to make this possible ? Thanks
