  1. I'm departing EGLL on the DET2F SID. My imaginary ATC has cleared me straight away to FL310. What's the procedure to remove the alt restriction in the FMC for 6000 until DVR? Thanks. Jim
  2. You should see my laptop screen after I lend it to the kids. Snot and chocolate really messes up your view.
  3. What I liked about the video was that the Pilot wasn't nerdily obsessed with checklists and procedures, but clearly spoke as someone who flew for a living. It was entertaining, truthful and free!!!! IXEG are clearly on the case with the few anomalies so I'm not worried about that. This Aircraft is fun... I like the BIG LOUD NOISES and the general feeling of it being alive. The load manager/ preflight is simple and quick, I hate loading a Simulated plane seat by seat and messing about for hours before I can get in the air but it's also not simplified in its systems. Tim013, are you a Banjo player? I pass the time on long flights by playing tunes on my Gold-Tone. P.S. and I have to say, the cockpit is a work of art by anyones standards.
  4. That's exactly what I hoped to avoid by buying RWC. I guess I should have read the info more closely. This is what I read: "If you flew without Real Weather Connector installed right now your SkyMaxx Pro v3 clouds will draw clouds from METAR data download from apps like those listed above and create weather based on your EXACT aircraft location while you fly. What happens here is what some refer to as clouds popping in and out, miraculously changing from one extreme to another (like broken clouds suddenly disappear and overcast comes in out of nowhere). You won't see weather systems ahead or behind you, but instead the same type of cloud systems everywhere you look until you move to the next closest METAR location. With Real Weather Connector you will see weather systems in the distance! You will see systems behind you, to your left, and to your right all based on the real weather data you download. It makes for an amazingly immersive experience, and we're really excited to have achieved this!" Domestos
  5. Haloo I caved in and now i'm $75 lighter. It is a beautiful plane! However... Can it do half Khz steps on the ADF, as in Leeds Bradford 402.5 Khz?? Thanks JIm
  6. I'm late to the party as usual! I've got countless aircraft that I don't fly because they have one or two "killer" omissions. I thought it would be ok to work around them but in reality it just really ****** me off. It almost made me give up flight simming altogether. I thank you for your honest approach and I see things on your list already crossed off. I'm going to wait till people have actually flown the plane before I buy it (probably :-) but reading between the lines I don't doubt your commitment and passion. Best of luck with the release and try not to kill the internet on saturday!! Jim Harris (grizzly old cynical flight simmer)
  7. It's just a bit fuzzy and soft looking. I've tried all the permutations of AA and such in the menus. What is the main thing to fiddle with to improve this? Is Nvidia Inspector worth a go and if so what should i tweak? At the moment I have HDR on 4xssaa and 16x aniso but I've been all the way to 8xssaa+fxaa and it don't help. I have an i5-750 @4.0ghz and a GTX760 Thanks in advance!! Jim
  8. Hallo... a) What's the difference between this and the Simheaven continent sceneries? Do I need both or will they interfere? c) Major thanks to Alpilotx and all you out there who make stuff like this... the difference you make to the hobby is invaluable, Thanks! Domestos

To the OP... Are you running X-plane 10 on these Radeon HD's? I'm panicking as I've just ordered a Radeon HD 7870 XT (tahiti) and then started to read bad stuff about AMD cards and X-plane. It's been delayed in the post so I've nothing to do but sit here and worry. I've currently got an I5-750 @3.8Ghz with an Nvidia GTX 460 and I need to be seeing moar frames/sec. Jim
