Cpt. Oveur Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 Hey folks! Since HotFix Update 1.0.2 I can hear a 'growl' sound when applying maximum reverse thrust, which wasn't the case before. Can you address this with your next update please? Thanks a lot! Cheers, Matt Quote
ddguezz Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 I do hear it also. I don't know if it does sound in the real thing at full reverse, but I guess it doesn't... Quote
volkerschwarz Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 Hey, if you have soundmaxx, you schould disable it. or other any plug in sounds? regards Quote
Benweston Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 I landed at Southampton earlier (pretty sporty for a 737) and noticed this sound as I gave the thrust reversers the full beans. It sounds much like the engine whine at TOGA power. Quote
Morten Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 At what N1% do you reverse at? Usually I think you should not go much past 80% Quote
Cpt. Oveur Posted May 3, 2016 Author Report Posted May 3, 2016 Full / max reverse, which means slightly above 90% N1. I know, in most cases YouTube videos are not a good demonstration material, but I have a lot of jumpseat experience on the -300 and it sounds more like this (jump to 7:05): And as I already wrote in my initial post, it was much more realistic before the 1.0.2 update... Morten Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 Recommended max reverse thrust for normal operations is about 80%N1 to preserve engine life. So if you hear the growl thats because you exceeded that, and they would normally never do in real unless it's and RTO or something. The sound happens when the N1 fan tip speed goes supersonic. Quote
Litjan Posted May 4, 2016 Report Posted May 4, 2016 Reverse sounds will be tweaked a bit for the next hotfix... Jan 1 Quote
