Amazing!.. sent info to Austin and Ben.

I think they are too niiiiiice!! but the problem usually is, maybe they are low performance hit, but it is a engine for that only.. if you put the planes, their graphics, phisics etc etc.. then usually for sure performance will be lower and lower.

Nice clouds for sure! would be a pleasure fly with them!

Thanks for passing on the info to Ben and Austin, Javier. I hope they'll look it into it. But the important thing is that, this engine is based on Direct X and X-Plane is OpenGL. So I think we might have a problem here.

Edit: It DOES support OPENGL aswell as Ogre and OpenSceneGraph. Just saw it in their Feature list. A very interesting read about the Simul Weather 1.8 here http://www.modsim.org/Articles/Simul/index.htm#hdr

I'm impressed by the scale of and vision behind new features of X-Plane. Also it's good to know, that v9 planes will work in v10, maybe with minor tweaks, to reflect those few little adjustments to flight model, as mentioned by Austin.

Keep in mind, there's what Austin says and what Austin does. A "minor" tweak to him could be a major tweak to the rest of us.

Not saying that will happen but, with Austin, it's best to wait until the first betas come out to see what's happened.

Agreed, but I'm being optimistic, for once :D My first-hand experience is limited to v9, but by comparing it to v8 and noting the scale of progress, both in terms of simulation and visuals, I believe that v10 will be really good. It's easier to put all those additional goodies, when you have a solid foundation to work upon and I think that v9 is pretty solid. Time will tell...

I don't think Laminar could afford the backlash if V8 and V9 planes couldn't be used in V10, since the community is so small (relative to MSFS) and there isn't a huge selection of good plane models. I'm hoping it will be something simple, like just opening the .acf file and saving it in Planemaker to handle any adjustments needed.
