Hi,

its me again ;)

I have another question, and as far the aircraft ist still under developement, maybe you can take care of it if you're not already did.

I do fly currently most of the time the JarDesign A320, maybe you know this one. The "big" problem is, you do not get a comfortable seat position for your view. If you are getting your "head" as far back as possible without penetrating the headrest you have the feeling like beeing taped to the windshield. So you have to get inside the headrest or above or right next to it, to get a flyable position. But then you have the problem while moving your head that you see the corners of the headrest you are resting in, so you cant control some things in the middle console or anywhere else, you get what I mean?

I know that this particular problem differs depending on the screen size (resolution) every single user is running at home, but would it be anyway possible to put the seats in default very far into the back, that everyone has enough space to adjust his/her perfect angle of view?

Let me know if you experienced the same and what you think about it.

Greetings / Grüße

Steffen

If you need to move your viewpoint that far back and still don't "see" enough, then your field of view in the rendering options is probably set too low. What angle did you set there? I usually use about 70-80 Degrees on a 16:9 screen, depending a bit on the plane.

I don't like the wide angle look with higher values, but maybe that's just what you want to achieve?

Hi Steffen,

you should get a pretty good idea if you watch the many videos we have out on youtube. There is of course the dilemma of wanting to have correct dimensions in the 3D rendition of the cockpit, but being limited to a 2D computerscreen that can´t move. Try driving your car and working the radio, looking at a map, finding sunglasses in the glove compartment etc. without turning your head ever so slightly. I bet in most cases you can´t even see the speedometer, because the steering wheel is in the way and you need to move slightly to glance past one of its spokes...

We choose realism > convenience, so you need to look around the cockpit with the mouseview, a headtracker, pre-setup views or use a very large field-of-view if you want to access all controls and equipment. It´s not all cluttered in front of the pilot, just like in real life or on a 2D cockpit.

It is entirely possible to set up your view in a way that lets you take in the window and primary flight instruments, so for really "flying" the aircraft you don´t need to move your view.

Cheers, Jan

This. Check your FOV.
