Ryan M. Posted October 26, 2015 Report Posted October 26, 2015 Hello all;I recently updated from 10.36 to 10.41 and noticed something weird. What happens is this: I Load x-plane up, and it loads fine with no lags, for about 5 seconds. Shortly after, the lag begins, and even with minimal settings, the sim still lags after 5 seconds. I'll attach my log here. Any solutions?Log.txt Quote
MercuryMat Posted October 31, 2015 Report Posted October 31, 2015 This happens to me also. Fast start then a small lag, but quite noticeable, after some seconds. But then all goes well. But...sadly after installing SMP 3, I started experiencing little lags during flights. I checked the CPU usage (using evga tool) and it jumped up to 99% even in places with no osm and no clouds. Very weird. May be is a graphic driver problem...boh... ...sent from One+ One using Tapatalk 1 Quote
sundog Posted October 31, 2015 Report Posted October 31, 2015 SMP does pretty much nothing if no clouds are in the scene. Correlation does not imply causality! Quote

Cameron Posted October 31, 2015 Report Posted October 31, 2015 So, Is there a solution to this problem? You don't even have SMP installed, so beats me what the relevance of Mat's post really was. I'm wondering if this is a Laminar issue. I'm hearing a lot of stutter issues with 10.4x Quote

Cameron Posted October 31, 2015 Report Posted October 31, 2015 SMP is an abbreviation for SkyMaxx Pro. 1 Quote
sundog Posted October 31, 2015 Report Posted October 31, 2015 You've got a lot of custom scenery, a third party aircraft, and an external weather injector going on plus some other stuff - on a relatively low-powered graphics card. You're probably swapping memory from just pushing your system too hard, which would result in little stutters like that. Try turning down some rendering settings, see if flying with a default aircraft helps, etc. until you can find a setup that works well with your hardware. Quote
MercuryMat Posted October 31, 2015 Report Posted October 31, 2015 Yes...i think is a X-Plane issue...btw this happened to me only after installing SMP 3...I'll investigate... ...sent from One+ One using Tapatalk Quote

Not sure what point you're trying to drive here? Quote
MercuryMat Posted October 31, 2015 Report Posted October 31, 2015 Only that may be the issues are related and you could have a look at them. Quote
Cameron Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 Only that may be the issues are related and you could have a look at them. Except it's impossible for your same issue as Ryan to be related if Ryan doesn't even have SMP... Quote
sundog Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 (edited) NVidia recently published a technical article on the causes of stuttering in games. Short story: it's probably due to running out of video memory. Edited November 1, 2015 by sundog Quote

There were no objects, roads, trees, or cars, and i turned texture resolution down andI used the default ASK-21 glider. The result was still a bit laggy. I appreciate the help everyone, but i'll probably get a new computer sometime soon. I've ordered new RAM for the current computer, so i'll see what that does. Quote
Nano Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 I've seen the same random freeze issue with 10.41. Have reverted back to 10.36 and SMP2 with no more freeze/lag issues. It's the 98% solution and works for me. Quote
