kingpieman Posted December 28, 2014 Report Posted December 28, 2014 Hello guys, For Christmas my parents got me a GTX750Ti however I have noticed that I'm getting very bad frames and when I mean bad like 5 fps. This is now a common occurrence which I'm losing my patience with. Usually in Mid-Flight my frames are 30 and in fact they always stay above 30 where ever, however they do drop in the cruise to around 5 fps as stated above. Now, I've tried to trouble shoot it with the rendering options=but this does not help, for example HDR off i still get 5 fps, HDR on I get 5 fps, Roads to Tons i get 5 fps etc etc. The other thing worth mentioning is that sometimes and I do stress sometimes turning one aspect of the settings down does help and recovers my frames to normal, but only for about 10 mins. It seems the only way to Solve this is to restart my flight and try again until the dreaded fps drop. Before you ask yes i have Reinstalled X-plane, updated the files, etc. But still nothing. Other games work fine with this card, so I'm really puzzled with whats going on. My specs are: AMD APU A6-6400K Black Edition (3.90GHz Richland Dual Core Processor)GTX750Ti 430W power supply8gb ram64bit windows 7 Please help guys If you do help me fix it there may be a small reward like a virtual cookie Quote
Orcair Posted December 28, 2014 Report Posted December 28, 2014 What are your clouds at in your rendering settings? If they are quite high this will drop your FPS majorly. Quote

Orcair Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) They're set to 10% . What aircraft and/or scenery are you using? This can vary FPS quite a bit. EDIT: E.g. LES SAAB 340 and KSFO Tom Curtis package or default aircraft/scenery? Edited December 29, 2014 by Orcair Quote
chris k Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 ...and no mention of how much VRAM his card has, and a screenshot of his rendering settings showing (conservative) VRAM usage. If I ever get 5 FPS it's because I've blown my VRAM budget, and I have a much lesser system. Quote

julianlockwood Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Is Texture Compression enabled? If not, try checking this box, restarting X-Plane, and running the same scenario. Quote

julianlockwood Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 The check box is in the upper left corner of the X-Plane Rendering Settings screen. The title of the check box is 'Compress Textures to save VRAM'. Here is a link to an article published on this subject by Laminar .. http://www.x-plane.com/?article=texture-compression Quote

Push_IT_Up Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 Select "More Reply Option" + "Choose Files" or drag and drop screen shot file into the body of your reply post. Quote

Push_IT_Up Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 I would start testing by reducing your "Anisotropic-filter level to 1x or 2x and increase from there to see if that helps your frame rate. Quote
Ben Russell Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 Turn world detail distance down. 2 Quote
