WOW!!!!

I'm sure I speak for Theo when I say thanks for that Simon!!

It kind of looks weird to see our project on someone else's computer seeing as I spent so much time with her.  But it definitely puts a smile on my face seeing other people flying her.

That was AMAZING.

thanks Goran, and Wow. A strange feeling this end too, seeing her alive and up close after those months of stills. The texturing really is outstanding, esp. That carpet.

And this was a real quickie, first flight, filmed in 5 mins and edited in same. Forgot to turn comms and nav on. Hope u liked the song, listen to the lyrics...

Like I said, there are Photoshop users and there are Photoshop Artists.  Theo is definitely in the latter category.

I actually do like the choice of music.  It has that old, rustic sound to it which suits the Sundowner very nicely.

Need I ask you to keep 'em coming?

Rudder trim and elevator trim do work.  Aileron trim has been added along with some extras in the flight model.  Currently making ammendments to the manual and it will all be ready to download very soon.

Ah well just flew Sundowner, and had an unknown failure making me unable to restart engine. Had to emergency land in the cliffs of Tenerife! I gotta say it flew beautifully, and even though I was awaiting a death landing she landed perfectly :)

If your engine was at idle, you probably had carb ice.

Pull the middle lever on the throttle console towards you and then continue trying to start the engines.

yeah, strange thing was that the engine was never put in idle  ??? And since I have a throttle quadrant I left carb heat on and everything... Ah regardless it's not like it bothered me, it just made the experience more fun and challenging. Not exactly place to ask, but is your 747 going to have the same level of detail as the Sundowner? :)

Were you at a high altitude?  If so, how was your mixture?  Full rich will flood the engine at higher altitudes due to the thinner air.

If you don't know how to set mixture in the Sundowner, please check the manual.  There is a section on how to set the correct mixture.

If you were at a lower altitude, your mixture may have been too lean.

Who said this thing was too challenging to fly?

The 747 will have ultimate realism.

I have contacted a retired BA 747-100/200/300 flight engineer to help me with this project and he is looking forward to seeing it fly and perform as realistically as possible.  I told him to not hold back on the criticisms when it comes testing time.

Sorry to say, the 747-200 will not be for the casual simmer wanting to hop in and take off within 3 minutes.

Please, get back to me on how you get on with the Sundowner mixture setting.

Glad to hear it, and it was my altitude guess I was too high, I'm not a casual simmer I fly for real too so I know my way around systems in an aeronef, just having to work tired me, and since I was tired I guess I might have neglected the setting of my Carb Heat, and since I usually fly heavies and am more advanced with heavies I guess I just forgot about it :), if you need info for the 747-400 project you can contact me, I'm good friends with a current 747 pilot for Air France and a retired 747-400 pilot for Air France. Hopefully we're gonna finally have a realistic system simulated 747 for X-Plane, I'm not a fan of planes that take one minute to start and 2 minutes later you're flying through the air, Peter's A380 is the closest to realistic systems I have for an heavy. Can't wait to hear more news! Also awaiting for your Saab :), you can be sure I'll be buying everyone of your airplanes!
