FloB Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) Is that a special effect or a bug? Where would the glowing blue light come from in the middle of the night and nowhere? No big deal, though. Thanks for answersFlo EDIT, it's not the fuselage but reflecting part of the props Edited March 19, 2014 by FloB Quote
ryanbatc Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 I have this too... I assumed it was something to do with HDR and the Raleigh scattering tweaks Quote
Goran_M Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Can you give me more information on this? Are the sun shades up, down or mixed?Render settings?Any mods done using the environmental datarefs?Location?Time?Season? As much info as possible so I can attempt to recreate it. Quote
ryanbatc Posted March 20, 2014 Report Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) Goran the best I can tell is at night (set to 2200 or something).... HDR onI haven't touched the shades (those work ? cool!)Current dateAirport doesn't matter it happens at all of themRender settings the ones I sent you on skype a few days agoYes I modded the datarefs.lua with some Raleigh tweaks... these ones: set( "sim/private/controls/clouds/cloud_shadow_lighten_ratio", 0.8 )set( "sim/private/controls/atmo/atmo_scale_raleigh", 20.0 )set( "sim/private/controls/atmo/inscatter_gain_mie", 2.0 )set( "sim/private/controls/atmo/inscatter_gain_raleigh", 13.0 )set( "sim/private/controls/atmo/scatter_raleigh_b", 10.0 )set( "sim/private/controls/atmo/scatter_raleigh_g", 2.80 )set( "sim/private/controls/atmo/scatter_raleigh_r", 0.010 )set( "sim/private/controls/skyc/white_out_in_clouds", 0.5 ) The best angle to see the blue is from above and slightly to the side of the fuselage... they mainly show up on the bottom of the windows. p.s. I just tested WITHOUT all those modded dataref settings and still got the blue.. here's what I see Edited March 20, 2014 by ryanbatc Quote
Cameron Posted March 20, 2014 Report Posted March 20, 2014 Please test with HDR off as well. My bet is this is a rendering issue on Laminar's side in HDR mode. Quote
FloB Posted March 20, 2014 Author Report Posted March 20, 2014 @ ryanbatc: Same here.If you move back and forth in time you see the color change. At sunset it's yellow and than comes blue. The reflection is probably intended and realistic but something's wrong with the mixing of colors. Will test with HDR off. Flo Quote
FloB Posted March 21, 2014 Author Report Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) It has nothing to do with HDR. I checked it. The blue light appears only for a couple of minutes after sunset. It's a mismatch between the real skycolor and the reflection.Maybe Skymaxx has something to do with it - as it seems Skymaxx has a slight mismatch in time between cloud colors and skycolors/lightlevel too.Anyway, not reason to get upset. Pictures with HDR off. yellow turns blue skycolors at the same time (blue reflections on the other side of the plane) Flo Edited March 21, 2014 by FloB Quote
ryanbatc Posted March 23, 2014 Report Posted March 23, 2014 I don't use Skymaxx...Fwiw I'm not complaining it really doesn't bother me I just wanted to know if the devs ever had it.Maybe I'm carrying a bunch of aliens on board lol Quote
Goran_M Posted March 23, 2014 Report Posted March 23, 2014 Flo, let me ask you this.In your last post in this thread, in the top picture, could that be the sun reflecting in the glass?I've tried just about every scenario to duplicate it and couldn't get the blue, but I did get the yellow and it slowly disappeared as the sun kept going down. Peter T. Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 Im no expert but my guess is that I think the object shininess from the look of that. Quote
ryanbatc Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 Perhaps it's an nvidia issue? I'm running GTX570. Quote

LES_Saab_340A_1.pngLES_Saab_340A_2.png Yes, I think it is sun reflection and thus stated that it is probably intended and realistic.Question is why it is supernatural glowing blue and this even when the horizon is already pitch black for half an hour...The blue disappears after another 30 minutes or so.Somehow the windows picks up blue light when there is none to be seen.On NVIDIA (GTX 760) here too. Goran_M Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 This is an x-plane issue. It happens somewhere else on the aircraft (but I'm not going to say where )We spent several weeks trying to get rid of it, but it wasn't possible and we determined it was something within the sim. It's something you'll unfortunately have to put up with until Laminar address it. FloB Posted March 24, 2014 Author Report Posted March 24, 2014 OK, thanks. I haven't seen this with other aircrafts (does not mean it's not there) - so I thought it might be a saab issue.Nevermind. Have a nice dayFlo Quote
Goran_M Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 It's got to do with the shine that is added to objects. I added shine to the windows to make them reflect. The exterior also has it, but nowhere near as much as the glass. Quote
