I'll do my best. The generated file is going to be quite large, so I may not be allowed to place it on the blog, and I think dropbox won't allow it.

I can host generated sceneries at simheaven.com. And I could give some specialists FTP access to upload files.

If the version is stable and the quality of the sceneries is good, I can replace my osm sceneries made Feb 2014.

Of course there are many curious simflyers want to get ready made sceneries, IMHO it is reasonable to have them after the version is stable and not to download every two days a new version. ;)

Hi Tony,

I tried to generate entire France in one file from geofabrik and version 0.0.6 (the country where I'm from :D ) but unfortunately with no luck. The issue is as following :

As a temporary solution, and presuming you haven't deleted the half-generated scenery

and also alter the density for the one which places cows (you can find it by searching for cow.obj), to something like 1000. "Don't delete the rule, as it will invalidate your DB"

Once the tile has regenerated, you can then stop and start again and put the old rule back in (maybe lower the density to 4)

Because you used local storage mode, you should be able to resume (as long as you haven't deleted your tiles).

The next version will provide a fix (work-around) for this problem.

If needed I have no problems making osm sceneried on demand and upload them with permission from our simheaven guru, onto his site. Keep me lnformed

Super :). I'm sure that will make lots of people happy

Well I won't do much myself... I'd just d/l the right PBF files, run 'em through your super software, and push it all into simheavens site ^^ (again, if Pilotbalu the hoster is ok for that)

Tony can you use the textures from the Switzerland scenery?  which is available at the org.

Curiously, what Switzerland scenery are you talking about?

Regardless, to use any third-party content in W2XP the permission of the original author(s) is needed except where this is explicitely allowed (i.e. libraries etc.).

Not sure which scenery you mean, the only scenery I could find for Switzerland was actually Daikan's Switzerland buildings :), and these you can just drop into your scenery folder, placing above the World2XPlane scenery.

XPX performance in linux is awesome

I actually found the reverse. I tried it last year on Linux Mint, but found all sorts of problems, e.g. It wouldn't run full screen, and performance was terrible compared to Windows. My computer has a rubbish Nvidia Optimus graphics card which doesn't have any decent drivers, and even more annoyingly, I can't use Nvidia's drivers with them and Samsung haven't bothered to update the drivers since it was released. I'm unable to run the latest games and things like Outerra because the drivers are out-of-date, and I fear with OpenGL update in 10.30, the time will come when X-Plane does the same. *rant over*

Daikan,

This scenery is created with GMAPS which downloads Sketchup models.

You can check it at the .org by searching Switzerland in Downloads.

I am using Ubuntu 13.10 with LXDE and I can tell you when loading XPX it is butter smooth and no freezes or stutters with your scenery.  If loading XPX in Win 7 it freezes the system till it's loaded completely.

It seems you're talking about my Switzerland 3D Warehouse Objects for Zurich City, +47+008, +46+007, +46+008, correct?

First of all you can already combine these with any OSM scenery as long as you give them a higher priority in scenery_packs.ini.

Regarding re-using the textures in W2XP: While this could be done in theory it is highly impractical as the texture files are not optimized for large scale, multi-instance usage and the converted objects are often split into many small sub-objects as a result of the "single texture file/atlas per object" limitation of X-Plane (which GMaps cannot work around, either).

Yes Captain I am referring to them. sorry did not realise they were  made by you. and BTW the one which is 400 MB is corrupted as I have downloaded it many times but it gives errors when uncompressing.

I want to post on my blog with instructions to some of their question, as my biggest list of users at the moment are Russians.

And one Indian :)

Compiled the whole of Netherlands and the flight is smooth no stutters .

Have compiled Switzerland and will be trying it with Daikan's buildings. Lets see what frame hits I get.

As long as you don t use a full quality satelite map, it should be fine over most regions... i flown over brussels... w/o orthophotos... it was limiti but flyable... with oethophotos on, fps dropps to 0.5-1.5 :(. But, tjats another topic ^^

Oh.... and ONE belgian ^^

Come on Iron, share some screenshots ;-). You can post them on this forum

This is Geneva, with Switzerland OSM data used from World2Xplane, I am not sure if Daikan's buildings are in this as I have not yet put all of them. Using the Trees V2 from Alpilotx , do not mind the AA as the AMD GPU linux drivers are a little troublesome.

Just want to say , one has to fly in Geneva in Xplane 10 using HD Mesh 2 / Trees V2 and Simheaven Genf photoscenery with World2Xplane it is beautiful.

@Tony, could you post a screeny of EHAM , depart from rwy 22 and head towards victor i.e.  heading 150 . Just want to compare the OSM data.

LOL did not see the Add Image button .
