arb65912 Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) Jim, I was was not trying to be negative, just objective. I am totally sure that the update will fix majority of not just my problems which we all know there are, Ben just admitted finding a big for memory leak. I replied in not negative tone, maybe rather to make the potential user to be aware of what MIGHT come up. I do not exaggerate saying that so far Saab 340A is my favorite plane in that class. You and the whole Team did really outstanding job. A bit off subject maybe but many guys were complaining that LES SF34 does not have GPS/FMS. It is NOT a problem at all, I have found 2 plug-ins AFASS and X-FMC and both make LES SF34 as it was equipped with FMS. Thank you again, that update will be awesome, I know. Cameron Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 Ben just admitted finding a big for memory leak. This leak does not apply to the Saab. It is for SMP and potentially the CRJ. Quote
arb65912 Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 Oops, now I am a bit nervous BUT, I am almost sure that the update will take care of that also, cameron. We will see, if not, I will just fly short flights. Cheers, AJ Quote
Ben Russell Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) This leak does not apply to the Saab. It is for SMP and potentially the CRJ. This is correct. If you run the Saab without SMP you shouldn't see any leak issues. The leak is definitely caused by code inside the Gizmo64 plugin though. Edited January 6, 2014 by Ben Russell Quote
arb65912 Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 Well, that IS my hope because after I reinstalled everything from scratch, I was getting around 20-27 FPS without SMP running but I did not notice memory leak on longer flights. NOW, I always fly SAAB with SMP so my hope is that I will be very happy after SAAB and Gizmo64 plugins get update. Just a gut feeling guys. Thank you for the responses. Cheers, AJ Quote
canox Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) After flying this plane for a few days there is absolutely no reason to wait if you want it and can afford it. What an amazing plane! Once you get immersed in a flight.. all the 'negatives' that the next patch intend to polish just vanish.. At least for me they arent an issue. Besides all the fully simulated systems, awesome modeling, 3D sound.. there is still something special about this plane I cant figure out. I really like flying other planes too (FJsim planes, J Rollon stuff, Carenado fleet).. but the SAAB has sooomething else I cant quite describe yet. Its like when you walk into a well built/decorated home or space where all the details are paid attention to, its extra comfortable and satisfying. For flying VOR in Xplane it is a dream.. Do real airlines that fly 340As still navigate that way? Yes.. this plane is ART. Edited January 7, 2014 by canox Quote
