You're way out of line here.  Just because 1 developer can issue an update in a matter of days, do you automatically conclude that ALL developers can do the same?

A little perspective is in order, I think.

Agreed, perspective is important. Like when you mean 'there's as much chance of you getting this update before Xmas as me winning the lottery', how about you say that before Xmas, rather than "shouldn't be long now". How about you don't bandy about phrases like "within the next few days" in the original post when here we are, nearly 3 months later and still you don't feel it necessary to explain why we don't have the patch, just pop up now and again to say 'you don't understand what we're doing', or 'Daaaaah, just kidding, I was being ambiguous and so I could've meant soon, or I could've meant like, not soon".

I really like what I've seen of the plane so far but poor frames mean I can't use it as I'd like to. I really like your attitude to quality and I'm sure there are all sorts of laborious issues that keep cropping up that it's not worth anyone's time to detail, and I'm also convinced X-Aviation's overall commitment to customer support is strong. What annoys me is the growing impatience the devs are showing with customers who have waited beyond what the initial post suggested might be the time frame for a patch to make the plane usable to expectaions, without thinking it might be a good idea to keep the customers abreast as to what's going on with the patch.

Enough, Gentlemen. It's out when it's out. This is entirely counter-productive not only for us, but for you too. There are many better things we could ALL be doing with our lives than actually trying to hash out words here.

Please reread my reply from the previous page.  Here it is again, just to save you from going back a page...

I said there is a CHANCE.

Just like there is a chance I could win the lottery.  But unlike the lottery, you are guaranteed to get the update.

I NEVER said "there's as much chance of you getting this update before Xmas as me winning the lottery".

As Cameron said, it's out when it's out.  The files have been submitted and we are now deep into Citation development and troubleshooting a few nagging DC-3 issues.  Cameron now has the arduous task of coding the installer for the Saab updates.  Something none of us would ever want to touch.

We don't want anyone to wait for something you are entitled to, but it is, unfortunately, the way it's panning out to be...and I apologize for that.

In saying all that, we'll refrain from posting any timeframes for any updates or future add ons.  Without any offence directed towards anyone...now or in the future...any questions on "when will it be released?" will simply be met with "when it's ready".

I hope that's fair enough.

Congrats to the SSG team!

Yes, congrats to them, for two things : they are reactive and they take care of their customers. They don't have "des doigts de plombs" !

Cameron, imagine you have purchased a product. Happily, you try it. And... no ! It doesn't works as expected. You get back to the shop and explain this to the vendor :

Vendor - Oh ? Strange, it should works properly.

Cameron - No, it don't. Could I be refund ?

Vendor - Being refund ?! You're joking ! You open the box ! No, definitively no, it's not our policy. But wait, it will be fixed ASAP. Just wait a little bit, I tell to the customers support. Then it should work far best than expected !

Cameron - Ok. But I can't use it.

Vendor - It doesn't matter. Its not my probem WAIT, please. You know it's very complex. So, WAIT, it's an order.

Cameron - And I wait, wait, wait...

After many weeks...

Vendor - Hey, Cameron, good news, your issue will be fixed for Christmas, I promise (sic) !

Cameron - Yeah ! Great !

(What an interesting dialog, isn't it ! A dialog of the deaf ?)

Christmas come, Christmas is over... And no update. Cameron get frustrated and begin to be angry. The vendor have is money, but he can't use his product. Is he a liar ? Did he fool him ? It seems it counts his $ instead of earing the dissatisfied and annoyed customers.

Hey Cameron, Goran and all the LES clique, have you ever live such a boring situation (I want to stay polish) ? Well, patience is a virtue, but months after, customers will become less and less virtuous... I'm not sure you understand them. Are you deaf ? It's equal for you, you have the money...

Making such a complex thing without being able to fix it, it's quite funny !

And you say me I can't be refund because the serial has been activated. I'm sure you can deactivate it. It's just a question of will. I'm sure again that if you found the Saab on the Internet as a torrent file, it will be deactivated in the minute !

Well, the magic wand is broken and they're really something rotten at LES and X-Aviation. Isn't it, you, the "digital" Harry Potter ?

I dare to tell things many customers feel and think. And please don't say it's counter productive. Saying this is disrespectful for many of us. We have the right to complain because the so long-awaited patch is postponed at the Greek calends. Again and again...

And Goran, you'd better keep quiet instead of speaking about a Christmas release. You made us hopping for... nothing.

He labeled it as a joke. Perhaps you missed that part where he said "kidding aside."

In any case, thanks for sharing your perspective and thoughts! You are certainly entitled to your opinion, and I hope that airing your frustration has made you feel better. If you feel your time was put to good use, then that's okay in the end and I have no objection to it. I still firmly believe it's counter productive, that we all could have found something better to do than have an exchange of words that do nothing, but if it was felt as a positive step in your daily activities, I am not going to stop you.   :)

Maniwaki,

3 things I will say.

1.  I never promised anything before or on Christmas.

2.  If you misunderstood this, then there is an obvious language barrier.  If this is the case, I would have gladly explained my position a lot better if you had just asked.

3.  This thread is now locked.

Happy New Year to everyone!
