Madmaxter
I have begun a project in Blender for X-plane 9 and I thought I would show it to this forum for comments. It is intended to be payware. cost as yet undetermined but inexpensive. Should this plane be a success, I will continue to develop aircraft for X-plane. Probably focusing on warbirds, specifically in the arena of naval air operations.Anyway, here are the WIPsEnjoy, comments welcome, just keep it friendlyThanks,Max
Cameron
Looking great, Max!Have you had any 3D experience before starting this project? Looks like you're well on your way and understand Blender well.
Madmaxter
I use Blender for creating scenes for websites. I am an avid flight sim fan, so I thought I would try my hand at making planes for X-plane since its community has embraced Blender.Max
Cameron
Very cool, Max! It's fun to hear others' stories and how they got involved with 3D sometimes. I've come across some very talented people, that's for sure!Keep up the good work on this one. Definitely looking forward to it.
Simmo W
Finally seen these shots on a PC screen, they look great, especially the last one low on the wing showing off the wing rivets.I'm guessing the landing gear is early stages, I'm a sucker for incredibly detailed landing gear like the falco and Mu-2, oh and the Seamax. Madmaxter
The gear is in very early stages. I want to get them as accurate as possible. Means a bit more research than the other animated parts. Those rivets are effected with normal maps. That too is early stage, I plan to add normal mapping to the panel lines as well. as well as a little wavy metal here and there.I am kind of doing this plane in reverse. I noticed that most of you begin with the planemaker model and move on to blender. I am doing the model first and researching the planemaker second. I think this can be done with little headaches, but I could be wrong. I hope to have this out by late April or early May. It all depends on how the research goes for the planemaker version. Thanks for the comments, keep them coming...Max
