G5 screen blank

Hi,

I've just installed RSG G5 Instruments v2.2.0 onto my X-Plane 11 C-172 and the screens are blank.

Add an exclusion for the directory to your system's anti-virus/anti-malware protection.

I tried that while reinstalling but it doesn't make any difference: there's still the Error Code = 225.

Is there a way to uninstall the G5 to reinstall it from clean so there's no "legacy" of it existing?

It looks like win_x64/X-Aviation.xpl was quarantined by Windows Defender and I deleted it in the million things I've done to try and recover the situation.

Can the file be downloaded somehow?

The product installer provides it.

I've reinstalled X-Plane on my D: Drive by allowing the app in Windows Defender.

There is still the error in the log:

D:\X-Plane 11/Resources/plugins/X-Aviation/win_x64/X-Aviation.xpl : Error Code = 225 : Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software.

But, what's more weird is that the said folder is empty (see attached) and Windows Defender doesn't have anything quarantined.

Does it make sense to anyone?

Are there records of corruption within that file reported by others? My previous version (back in March 24) didn't cause any issue regarding install.

I've heard that it happens. Defender isn't always reliable in its reporting. What was the exclusion you added exactly? (Screenshot?)

More importantly, what exception would you suggest I add for it to work? (for info, that would be in Defender and McAfee)

It's a shame because I really like the G5 product. It's a good practice for the real thing.

Two anti-virus products at once? That's generally considered a BAD IDEA. But it's your PC.

It's probably McAffee, not Defender.

I've restored X-Aviation.xpl that was quarantined from McAfee and added the exception.

I've re-run the RSGG5-windows-x64-installer and launched X-Plane.

It asked me to revalidate the X-Aviation licence (welcome sight!) and the G5 powered up!
