ipaxton Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 NOT impressed with the packaging at all. I got it in the mail today I opened up the sleeve and one of the discs fell out....grrr I spend 90 dollars and this is the kind of packaging I get nice. Quote
larjeet Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 Nothing wrong with the packaging I transfered mine into a Dollar store Zip up folder I would rather have it shipped in a cardboard package for 5.00 than have to pay alot more Have it shipped in a larger heavier container Quote
Cameron Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 I suppose it depends on the care of packaging and how much leeway was left for a disc to get around.Who did you buy from? Quote
larjeet Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 (edited) From Xaviation it came in a Heavy bubble pack envelope Edited February 8, 2012 by larjeet Quote
karingka Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 The laminar one comes in that card board packaging of Xp10, does'nt the XA one as well? Simon ordered from XA, and the picture he showed us suggested that it did. Personally, I was quite pleased with this package, the V9 version came in a envelope, no packaging at all... Quote
larjeet Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 Yes It came in the blue Xplane cardboard folder packed in a bubble envelope. Quote
ipaxton Posted February 9, 2012 Author Report Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) I ordered from Amazon it came in the same blue cardboard folderEdit: I didn't mean to sound like a ass earlier I wasn't exspecting a disc to fall out when I opened it.Edit Edit: When I bought X-plane 9 course this was when it was sold at walmart it had a nice plasitc case to hold all the discs I was hoping for the same but oh well I have blank DVD cases so it's no biggie. Kesomir Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 The aero soft one comes in a metal tin Quote
OlaHaldor Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) When I ordered XP9 (directly from Laminar), it came in paper sleeves. One for each disc. I must say I wasn't impressed by that. I was rather "what the heck?" Yet, the sim behaved very well so I didn't care about it after that point. Edited February 9, 2012 by OlaHaldor Quote
ipaxton Posted February 10, 2012 Author Report Posted February 10, 2012 Metal tin for X-Plane 10? Quote
Cameron Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Metal tin for X-Plane 10?European Aerosoft version. Quote
larjeet Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Just adds to the shipping Weight and production costs . Quote
ipaxton Posted February 10, 2012 Author Report Posted February 10, 2012 Guess I should of ordered from aerosoft then lol. Quote
Dozer Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 When I build a new PC, I might put in an old DVD drive as the permanent resting place of the necessary XP10 disk. There are probably better solutions though. Quote
ipaxton Posted February 11, 2012 Author Report Posted February 11, 2012 I heard something about a "Virtual Drive" make a image copy of disk one save it in any location and double click to start it before starting X-Plane. Quote
RojanTrojan Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 Just pre-ordered my 'metal tin' x-plane 10 from amazon.co.uk. Good to see that Aerosoft are putting in this sort of commitment to marketing X-plane and the hobby as a whole. Rhydian Quote
ipaxton Posted February 11, 2012 Author Report Posted February 11, 2012 Can you take a pic of it? Quote
RojanTrojan Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 Can you take a pic of it?It's out on the 17th of Feb. I'll post it here when I get it. Cheers Rhydian Quote
larjeet Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 Dont really need a metal Tin and would rather support Xaviation But its nice to Know that Xplane is getting more popular and more widely distributed . Quote
