Start X-Plane

Configure a new flight with the Challenger, real weather, at KSFO.

Make sure you have an active audio device selected in Windows and sound is enabled in X-Plane settings.

Yes, I have an active audio device: Speakers(2-  Realtek USB2.0 Audio), the standard device for Windows Mixed Reality (HP Reverb G2 v2), using Steam VR.

I started X-plane without VR enabled (and another sound device selected: Speakers (GSX 1000 Main audio), with the same result, and the same repeated error, "FMOD error 2 - Error trying to allocate a channel", in the log file.

That error is unrelated. But did you also check the X-Plane sound settings?

-Yes, by explicitly selecting the sound settings, as you suggested, and setting the sound volumes, everything is now working, thanks!
