I bet it is the same issue I was having uploading a user image. There is probably a limit set on the size of an image to be posted. The limit for user images was 150 x 150 pixels...

Must be fairly large then; the second shot in my above post is 1440x900 and 200kb.

The limit I was talking about was for user profile images.

What I think people are running into is that there is a file size limit, and it is probably fairly small. It might need to be raised a bit, I think I saw in the uploader dialogue that it is a 500kb limit.

The reason I suggest upping the size limit is to allow a bit higher quality image uploads, also for files in general to be uploaded, such as log text files, crash texts, etc...

I'm open to hearing users opinions, but in reality 500kb in itself is quite large for a single file!

That said, the max filesize upload allowed on the server right now is 16MB.

You have used 260.5K of 500K

I think you may have your numbers mixed around Cameron; it seems that 500kb is the amount of space I have, not per upload.

Regardless, I've always considered it good practice to use a external host such as Photobucket to store my images. It takes a little load off of the forum's servers.

Users may upload up to 30MB in images (just around it anyhow), with a single file being UP TO 16MB. The 500kb restriction was left behind for the normal members group, which has now been changed. Everyone should be equal now. :)

Yep, that's what I've got now. Thanks Cameron. :)
